Care
SerendipityYoungjae panicked when the heavy body of the summer fairy collapsed into his arms. He pulled the other into his house and closed the door, hoping that no one had seen them.
“Oh my god. Oh my god,” Youngjae chanted, at loss for words.
He picked up Daehyun and carried him to his bed where he lied the body down carefully. After taking the other's shoes off, Youngjae gently wrapped his blanket around the cold body. Daehyun's teeth were clattering and his lips had turned a dark shade of purple so Youngjae searched for another blanket to put on top.
“Why did you come so late?” Youngjae murmured, not expecting an answer.
“I c-came earlier,” Daehyun said. “B-but your friend was guarding your house so I had to wait.”
“Himchan,” Youngjae rolled his eyes. He felt a little annoyed but now he had more important matters at hand, Daehyun was still shivering and didn't seem to get much better.
Youngjae started rubbing the summer fairy's arm over the blanket, hoping that this would help to get him warm but the improvement was only minimal. He couldn't run a hot bath for Daehyun because they didn't have warm water during the night so he did the only other thing that came to his mind to get the other warm faster and lifted the blanket and crawled underneath it, pulling Daehyun closer so he could wrap his arms around his shaking body.
Daehyun immediately leaned into the touch, surprised that the winter fairy actually felt warm beside him. His ears started burning with embarrassment but he relaxed rather quickly when Youngjae rubbed his back gently. Youngjae's heartbeat was so slow, a big contrast to Daehyun's heart that was beating so fast that it seemed to skip a beat every now and then.
Youngjae smelled really good, like fir and cinnamon, fresh and comforting and Daehyun thought he could get used to it. He snuggled as close as possible, bathing in the other's surprising warmth as much as he could.
It took half an hour for Daehyun to stop shaking and a wave of relieve washed over Youngjae when he saw that the other's lips were not purple any more. Feeling awkward all of a sudden, he climbed out of the bed and made sure the blanket was snugly around the other like a cocoon.
“I'm sorry I took so long to come back,” Daehyun mumbled underneath the blanket. “I have my own Himchan at home, his name is Jongup.”
Youngjae chuckled.
“When I told him that I stayed in the winter woods the whole night he kind of didn't let me out of his sight,” Daehyun said. “He said it's too dangerous.”
“He's right,” Youngjae nodded. “Look at you, you could have been frozen to death. This is not worth it.”
Daehyun's ears drooped a little and he avoided the other's gaze. He knew that it was dangerous but in his opinion this was SO worth it.
“I'm sorry that I'm troubling you again,” he said, his voice sad and quiet. “If you don't want to see me anymore then I won't come back.”
“No!” Youngjae exclaimed a little too loud. “That's not it.”
Daehyun looked up at him, curiousity written all over his face, his large brown eyes shining.
“I just don't want anything happening to you,” Youngjae mumbled sadly.
“But nothing happened right?” Daehyun sat up and looked at the other hopefully.
“Not yet but that might change,” Youngjae warned.
“I will be okay as long as I don't stay in the cold for too long,” Daehyun decided and let himself fall back into the soft pillow.
“Can you tell me about the winter?”
Youngjae chuckled and moved to the bed again. It was late and he was sleepy and falling asleep on the chair was no option for him. Daehyun didn't seem to mind, he lifted up the blanket and welcomed the winter fairy in the warmth. When Daehyun smoothed the blanket over Youngjae's little body he could feel the coldness of his skin again.
The cold wasn't harsh though but rather gentle and soothing, like a cold sip of water under the warm s
