Curiousity
SerendipityYoungjae looked up in the sky and sighed. Every day was the same, instead of doing his work, his eyes trailed around, searching for the familiar golden trail of pixie dust. It had been almost a week but there was no sight of the cute summer fairy.
Did Daehyun get in trouble? Or did he not want to see him again? Youngjae thought about this every day but the way Daehyun's chocolate brown eyes sparkles whe he said they should meet again seemed genuine so it would be most likely the other option. Of course it had been impossible to stay away the whole night without anyone noticing.
“Hey,” Himchan flicked the other's forehead. “What are you dreaming about?”
“Nothing,” Youngjae sighed and rubbed the sore spot.
“Come on, you've been so weird lately. Tell your best friend what's up.”
Youngjae though about it for a moment, considering if he should tell the other about Daehyun. The problem wasn't that Himchan would betray him. Himchan was his best friend and older than him and only had the best in mind, which was the exact problem because the older would definitely try to talk him out of that – whatever 'that' was. “No, No!” Youngjae lifted both his arms in defense. “I didn't, don't worry.”
“Who?” Himchan wanted to know.
“No one. I just want to know what else is there and why we are not allowed, that's all.” Youngjae nibbled on his bottom lip.
“But you know what else there is,” Himchan said.
“From books, yes. But did you never think about touching animals and smelling the scent of flowers by yourself?” Youngjae asked.
“Not really. I'm happy with what we have,” Himchan answered.
It was quiet for a moment as Youngjae was in deep thoughts. His breath formed little clouds in the cold air but he wasn't cold at all. He had never questioned it before until he had met Daehyun, who seemed to be so affected by the weather and it made Youngjae wonder how he would cope with the warmth at the summer lawn.
All the years since he had been born he had taken the life he'd had for granted, had accepted things the way they were and even though a tiny part of his heart wrenched longingly when he saw the pictures of cute animals in books, it had always been silenced quickly and his thoughts had wandered somewhere else.
Youngjae loved the snow, that wasn't it, he just wanted to see with his own eyes what else this little world had to offer. What was so different between Daehyun and him when they were yet the same after all? That question had been naggin in his mind the whole week.
Another sigh escaped his lips as he covered another pine tree with a thick layer of snow. This was his magic, he would circle around it and freeze it as a whole. His magic c
