I Look To You

Shin Hye was busy cooking dinner for their guests and Min Ho was helping her with chopping the vegetables. She went to check on his work and scolded him for not cutting the carrots way she had shown him earlier.

“Oppa…..like this. Exactly like this, yaah please do it carefully,” she grumbled angrily.

“Wae? It’s the same,” he argued and went to measure the one he cut with the one she did earlier and realised that it was not the same.

“Arasso arasso….mian….I will be careful from now on,” he cut one and showed it to Shin Hye who was looking at him cutting the carrots intently. She nodded and he smiled happily.

“Aigoo…both of you are really like a married couple. This is too much,” said II Woo feeling jealous looking at both of them.

Min Ho grinned proudly. Shin Hye saw his grin and hit him lightly. She turned and continued cooking the stew.

“Kyaa see you got me in trouble with my girlfriend now. Either help us or just go watch TV outside. Juh ree gah,” he shouted which got him another hit from Shin Hye but this time she hit him harder. 

“Min Ho be nice. Gomawo again II Woo-ssi, for letting us use your apartment. You don't need to help make dinner. You are our guest tonight,” she smiled at II Woo sweetly and turned and glared at Min Ho before focussing her attention back on dinner.

Min Ho pouted and gave his friend the evil eye when II Woo smirked at him. He  laughed extra loudly as he walked out to the living room just to annoy Min Ho further.

Shin Hye was worried that they won’t be able to complete cooking in time if she had to do everything herself. It was good that Min Ho offered to help. She checked the table that Min Ho and II Woo had set and was pleased with their work. Min Ho, II Woo and Kim Bum who just arrived were watching a football match on TV. Looking at the time, she went to her bag and took out her phone to check for texts from her friends. She texted Geun Seuk to ask where there were and glanced at Min Ho and saw that he was looking at her. He signalled to her to sit next to him and she did so. She watched the match and asked them questions about football. All three were very patient with her and explained the rules of the game to her whenever she asked. She gave up half way trying to understand the game and just tried to enjoy the match. She silently watched the interaction of the three best friends and although their friendship was not the same as how hers were with her friends, she could feel their respect and strong bond towards each other. She liked seeing how carefree Min Ho was with his friends. The invisible wall that he had in front of people was completely gone.  The doorbell rang and Min Ho went to open the door and welcomed their guests. Shin Hye stood up and greeted her friends.

“Wasseo” said II Woo to Soo Hyun. They had gotten close while filming ‘The Moon that Embraces The Sun’ but have not kept in touch after the drama ended due to their busy schedules. He then fist bump Geun Seuk who he was also close with. Shin Hye introduced Geun Seuk, Soo Hyun and Hee Jin to Kim Bum and Min Ho.

“Mannaseo bangawosseo,” said Min Ho shaking hands with Soo Hyun and Hee Jin. He had met Geun Seuk before but they had never really gotten close. He had enough craziness from II Woo and he didn’t think that he could stay sane with having two crazy friends.

“Wow. This is great. I know almost everyone here except Hee Jin Ssi,” said II Woo breaking the silence.

“Majayo…. Unfortunately, I have never met Kim Bum or else I would be the only one that knows everyone here,” said Geun Seuk not wanting to left out of the limelight.

“Actually both Shin Hye and I know everyone. We were at uni together with Soo Hyun and Hee Jin,” said Kim Bum shrugging his shoulders, which caused Min Ho and Shin Hye to chuckle silently especially when both Geun Seuk and II Woo started giving Kim Bum the evil eye.

“That’s great. We have tons of catching up to do then. This is not awkward at all…ermmmm maybe for Min Ho,” he said looking meaningfully at Min Ho.

Min Ho ignored II Woo and sat next to Shin Hye. They all started talking catching up with each other news. When it was time for dinner, everyone stood up to help although Shin Hye insisted that she and Min Ho would get everything ready. She gave up laughing when they all told her and Hee Jin to sit down instead and that they would serve dinner since she had cooke
