With the book gone from his grasp, Young Jae let out a sigh as he shifted a bit, laying comfortably in the bed. Now.. he knew exactly what had happened. He had managed to save Daehyun, but just as he recalled from what Daehyun told him a little over a year ago, Daehyun had accidentally pressed the button on the device. If he recalled as well, being in constant contact with whomever is holding the device causes the user to remember what has happened only whenever they’re in contact. Otherwise, there are gaps whenever they had separated. Though... why was it that he was remembering everything now?

No. All of that could wait. Until he was able to wake himself up, there was no point in trying to figure out these answers just yet. Right now, the main question was... why was he still here? That had been the last room, had it not? Well, either way, it seems like Daehyun has a few questions to answer now. It was possible that Daehyun was just as crazy and obsessed as the last Daehyun and was trying to keep him here. Nothing seems to be out of the question in this head of his, so might as well and see what was going on.

Getting up from the bed, Young Jae stretched a bit as he began making his way towards the door. As nice as it was to not have any sort of worries to worry about, Young Jae would prefer to be at home, getting mad at his husband and son for doing things they think they are allowed to do. Yes, he still remembers the fact that Jongup and Zelo did the deed as well as Daehyun’s little slip up with the cake. If there was anything else, then he was going to get them regardless of what they tried to say in order to defend themselves.

Stepping out into the hallway, Young Jae looked around for a brief moment. Where was Daehyun anyway? Wait. Why was he even looking for him? If he wanted Daehyun to appear, then it would have been simpler to just call out to him. It seemed to be the only way for Daehyun to show up, so might as well get it over with. “Daehyun? Are you there? Come out. We need to talk about a few things.” (YJ)

There wasn’t a response, which was rather.. worrisome. Normally, the Daehyun in this building was quick to respond, almost as if he was waiting for the chance to speak to him, but this time, that didn’t seem to be the case. Had he not heard him? Was that even possible when Daehyun practically controlled what happened here? Clearing his throat, Young Jae decided to be just a bit louder. “Daehyun! Are you there?!” (YJ)

Nothing. Leaning on one leg and putting one hand on his hip, he rubbed the back of his neck before he began walking down the hallway. Maybe Daehyun was just lounging around in one of the rooms. Daehyun wouldn’t go to any of the other floors, would he? There had been a part of the building on this floor that he hadn’t gone to, so he had assumed that the stairs would have been that way. There couldn’t be anything bad happening to Daehyun though, right? It seemed like the only reason why Daehyun wasn’t talking to him now.

As he walked down the hallway, he would stop from time to time to check the rooms that he had completed. Each and every one had been completely devoid of life, but it still retained its somewhat alluring beauty. He did wonder why this building felt familiar. Sure, it was technically a representation of his mind, but it still seemed like a place he’s been to before. Well, that didn’t matter now. It’s not like he couldn’t live without finding the answers about this building.

Coming to the first room he had been to, Young Jae scratched the side of his head as he tried to think. Where could Daehyun be? Walking back down the hallway, he came to the fork in the hallway before looking down the hallway he hadn’t gone down yet. Would it be alright if he went down this way? It was probably for the best if he did. If he wanted to find Daehyun, then he needed to look in every nook and cranny. Then again, Young Jae doubted that Daehyun would even fit into such places anyway.

Clearing his throat once more, Young Jae began walking down the hallway. He could already see the doors leading to various other rooms, which made him wonder where they must have led to. Coming to a stop at the first door, Young Jae took in a deep breath before slowly opening the door handle. Once it wouldn’t turn any further, Young Jae pushed the door open before looking inside.

His gaze roamed slowly here and there, already taking note of the different colors that the room had. Instead of the usual red and gold color scheme that the rooms he had been in had, this room was white and dark blue. It was a bedroom that seemed to have a balcony, but it was evident that there was no stepping outside with the water there. Stepping into the room, he let out a slightly awed sigh before his eyes spotted the back of a person sitting on the bed. His eyebrows furrowed as he walked a bit closer to the person before coming to a stop just a few feet away from the bed. “Daehyun! Where have you been?! I’ve been looking for you, you know.” (YJ)

“.. Sorry..” (DH) Was that all he had to say? Sorry? He could have just simply been a random voice in the air before popping up out of nowhere with a physical body and yet here he was, physically sitting in this room. Though.. something seemed off. He wasn’t as happy as he usually was. Before he could question Daehyun about it, Daehyun began talking. “Here’s the last book that you should read..” (DH)

Daehyun turned around as he held a book out to Young Jae. Young Jae looked down at the book, his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he began to walk towards Daehyun. What did he mean one last book? He remembered everything by now. There was nothing else that he could have forgotten.. right? Coming to a stop by Daehyun’s side, Young Jae took the book into his hand and looked down at it before looking back at Daehyun. “What do you mean one last book? What memories could I have forgotten about?” (YJ)

“.. You’ll see.” (DH) Young Jae really disliked that response. Any time someone told him that, it just seemed to grate on his nerves simply because it was avoiding the question. However, since the answer was already in his hands, he might as well take a look at it. Sitting down next to Daehyun, he sat as close to Daehyun as possible before leaning his head on Daehyun’s shoulder. Opening the book, he was about to start reading, but a single thought quickly entered his head.

“You better not move until I finish reading.” (YJ)

“I won’t..” (DH) Young Jae flinched a little as he felt a hand wrap around his waist. He probably would have slapped Daehyun’s hand away, but he decided against it. With how Daehyun has been acting, it was probably best to just let him have his way for the time being. Plus, this Daehyun seemed to have tried to help him as often as possible, so he could just ignore it. Besides, it’s not like it was a bad feeling anyway..

Pushing those thoughts away for the moment, Young Jae soon began reading the book.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A large grin played on his lips as he peered through the glass. The palms of his hands and forehead was pressed against the glass as he stared at the two little bodies playfully moving about in their crib. Ever since he saw the first little one a few days ago, Daehyun had held nothing but pride and excitement. Even though he was disappointed that Young Jae wasn’t here to share this moment with him, it was still something that he had to be happy about.

Now though, not that long ago, their second baby had come into the world and he couldn’t help but feel as if his pride for these little ones continue to grow. Daehyun would have held them now, carried them lovingly in his arms and never let them go, but he couldn’t help but stall. He wanted to share that very moment with Young Jae so until then, he just couldn’t bring himself to carrying either one of them. “Such cuties!! Why do you and Young Jae have such good genes?” (TY)

“I don’t know about me, but.. Young Jae’s perfect. That’s why he has good genes.” (DH) Young Jae’s baby was the younger of the two, but both children were equally as cute. In fact, it was a bit surprising to see how much they looked alike as well. Then again, they were both only babies. Maybe as they grew older, their differences would become more evident.

“You’re being too modest! You have good genes too. Now, make sure not to continually press your head against the glass. You’re going to scare them.” (TY) Taeyeon was about to walk back to the group whom were sitting at the chairs behind them, but Daehyun had quickly pulled his head away from the glass before looking at Taeyeon.

“Really?” (DH) Daehyun didn’t want to scare his poor babies when he hadn’t even gotten the chance to hold them yet. Taeyeon let out a small giggle as she flipped the hair on her right side over her shoulder. She hadn’t been serious when she made that comment, but it seemed like Daehyun was most definitely taking it seriously. Well, at least Daehyun was trying to be a good father.

“I’m just kidding. Just make sure to come home often once the babies are allowed to leave the hospital. They’ll need the love from their actual father, of course.” (TY) Once Daehyun nodded, Taeyeon gave a small smile before making her way over to the rest of the group. Sooyoung hadn’t been able to make it since she was at work, but she did plan to show up sooner or later. While Yongguk and Himchan were off to the side having their own little conversation, Jongup and Zelo were staring in awe at the babies. “What are you two up to?” (TY)

“They’re so tiny! What if they break when I carry them? Can I play with them when we get home?” (Z) Taeyeon chuckled a bit as she sat next to Jongup. She was glad to see that Zelo was at least excited about the little ones, though she did wonder why Jongup wasn’t as excited. Still, she merely smiled as she looked at the younger of the two.

“They won’t be coming home with us yet. They’re going to be watched over by the hospital for another week or so to make sure that they’re healthy before they can come home. You have to wait until then, alright?” (TY) Zelo happily nodded as he jumped to his feet and quickly made his way next to Daehyun so that he could get a closer look of the babies. Taeyeon smiled a bit at the two before looking at Jongup, whom seemed to have a worried look on his face. “Is everything alright?” (TY)

“Hm..? Oh! Uh.. Y-Yeah.. Everything’s fine..” (JU) Taeyeon wasn’t exactly convinced by Jongup’s words. He seemed spaced out, the obvious hesitation in Jongup’s words were present, and then there was the fact that he wasn’t as happy as everyone else. Sure, there was a possibility that Jongup was just busy thinking about everything else, but Taeyeon just felt like it had to be related to the babies.

“Hm? Are you sure?” (TY) Jongup nodded as he slowly turned to look at the back of his father’s head. Although he had gotten reassurances time and time again, Jongup couldn’t help but feel these uncertainties time and time again. However, he was going to have to learn how to push these thoughts away though. As he heard from Taeyeon, he needed to step up in order to help his fathers and even Zelo had given him some sort of support, so he just needed to learn to become a bit more understanding, which he was! Jongup was definitely a lot more understanding about the whole situation!

“I’M ALLOWED TO BE HERE!!! LET ME THROUGH!!” (SY) The entire group all looked off to the side as they saw Sooyoung trying to make her way past a small group of nurses, whom seemed to be trying to calm her down more than anything. Getting up from her seat, Taeyeon quickly went up to the group in an attempt to understand what was going on.

A brief chuckle escaped Daehyun’s lips before he turned back to look at the babies. Each and every little one inside of the room was too adorable to resist! If he could, he would take all of the babies in that room and keep them for himself. Sure, he would have a bit of trouble taking care of all of the babies, but he could somehow manage, right? Well, it was alright if he didn’t get to take all of these babies with him too. Daehyun was just glad that he had his two little ones already. Even with the two that were legally his and Young Jae’s, that didn’t mean that he couldn’t admire the rest of the little ones born into the world. Just staring at these little ones brought on a large grin on his face that just seemed to not want to leave. Daehyun’s cheeks were starting to hurt, but he that was alright. “Hey. You look like a e standing there like that.” (BY)

Turning his head to the right, Yongguk stood there with a smirk on his face and his hands in his pocket. After a second or so had passed, Yongguk finally turned his head to look at Daehyun. A brief chuckle escaped his lips as Yongguk turned to look back at the babies. “You’re going to end up reinforcing that myth that all gay men are ic if you keep that up.” (BY)

“People still think like that? I don’t think they would think that of me. You fit that description more.” (DH) Both men laughed a bit as Yongguk playfully elbowed Daehyun. With their hands in their pockets, they looked at the two little ones closest to them. “I wish Young Jae woke up before they got here.. but.. I guess it can’t be helped.” (DH)

“Just be strong, a’ight? Those three babies, including Jongup, are going to need you more than ever while Young Jae is still in a coma.” (BY) Daehyun had begun to nod before pausing for a moment. Jongup? Why was Yongguk just now bringing up Jongup? He had been checking up on Jongup from time to time and each time, he said that he was fine. Turning to look at Jongup, the two stared at one another before Jongup waved a bit. With a grin, Daehyun quickly motioned for Jongup to come over to them. Although he was slightly confused, Jongup soon got to his feet before making his way over to the three by the window.

The second Jongup was within range, Daehyun wrapped his arm around the back of Jongup’s shoulders before pulling him to his side, the duo now looking into the room. Jongup looked at his father with slight confusion, but he turned to look back into the room regardless. “You see them? Your little brothers are cute, right?” (DH)

“Um.. Yeah.. They’re cute. Why?” (JU)

“Because they’re cute, that doesn’t mean I won’t forget about you. Okay? I’ll make sure to love you and your little brothers as equally as possible! But since they’re babies, they need lots of love and care so.. it might seem like I’m neglecting you. So don’t forget that no matter what, I love you just as much as I love them. Alright?” (DH) Jongup looked up at his father, whom slowly looked at him with that constant grin on his face. Looking down for a moment, Jongup let Daehyun’s words sink in for a moment before looking back up at Daehyun and smiling a bit.

“Alright. I’ll try to remember.” (JU) Jongup was rather glad that his father actually spoke to him about this. Sure, everyone else practically said the same thing, but it felt different when he heard these words from his father. For some reason, it just felt like he could completely trust what Daehyun said. Both Daehyun and Young Jae were people that he looked up to, so he could believe that both of them were telling him the truth.

“Hey! Carry your brothers for me, yeah?” (DH) Jongup looked at Daehyun, his eyes wide as he slowly looked back at his brothers. One baby was currently playing with his feet while the other baby was playing with his blanket. How was he supposed to carry two babies? He didn’t even really know how to carry one by itself.

Taking hold of Jongup’s wrist, Daehyun didn’t let Jongup even get the chance to think about the possibility of holding the babies as Daehyun pulled Jongup to the door that led to the baby room. Thanks to Daehyun’s excitement, it was far more difficult than it should have been to let them see the babies. However, thanks to Yongguk coming in and sorting things out, they were finally allowed to see the babies up close. With Yongguk’s help, Jongup was able to hold one of the babies while an eagerly impatient Zelo managed to get a hold of the other baby. While Zelo was playing with the baby in his arms, Jongup was staring at the one that he was holding with amazement and, well, confusion. Daehyun stood next to Jongup, his grin as wide as usual as he held a single finger out to the baby in an attempt to play with him. The second the baby grabbed hold of Daehyun’s finger, Daehyun let out a small coo as he leaned in closer. Jongup watched his father, slightly surprised by his actions. Though.. he did begin to wonder a bit. “Um.. Did you come up with a name for them yet?” (JU)

“Name?” (DH) Daehyun briefly glanced up at Jongup before turning his attention back towards the baby. He had come up with a couple of names, but he didn’t want to name the babies without Young Jae’s approval. It had only been approximately a month when they had decided on having the children, but with Young Jae’s current state, it was difficult to come up with a name without his approval. “I.. haven’t decided yet.” (DH)

“Oh..” (JU)

“Well you better think of it soon! You can’t just expect to call them thing one and thing two!” (HC) Daehyun chuckled a bit, keeping his attention on the baby in Jongup’s arms. As much as he wanted to wait for Young Jae to wake up, it really was important for him to come up with names for them soon. He just wished that there was some sort of list or a hint of some sort as to what kind of names Young Jae wanted for their children.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setting the book down and allowing it to disappear into nothingness, Young Jae slowly looked up at the window in front of him. He could feel Daehyun’s hold on him tighten around him, showing his concern. Had Daehyun read the book before him..? Is that why Daehyun was like this? Sure, the situation that the book described was fairly sad, but it wasn’t enough to make things worrisome. Tightening his hold on Daehyun’s shirt, Young Jae took in a deep breath before sitting up and making eye contact with Daehyun. “You’re alright..?” (DH)

“Yeah.. It wasn’t too bad, so don’t worry about it. Now.. will you answer my questions?” (YJ) Daehyun gave a weak smile before nodding. Young Jae didn’t exactly understand why Daehyun was acting this way, though, if Daehyun had been in the same state that had happened to him, then Young Jae would have been fairly saddened and worried about Daehyun’s health as well. Though, since that wasn’t the case, then it was best to just get to the point. “I need to know.. Why am I still here? There isn’t any other room left, right? I have also acquired all of my memories, so why haven’t I woken up yet?” (YJ)

Daehyun looked downwards a bit before getting up to his feet. Walking over towards the window, Daehyun let out a small sigh before turning to look back at Young Jae. How was he supposed to tell him? It was difficult to tell him the situation, but.. he knew that Young Jae wasn’t going to let it go. “You have.. one more Daehyun to save. I did say seven after all..” (DH)

“Alright.. So.. where is this last Daehyun?” (YJ) Young Jae waited with a bit of impatience for Daehyun to answer him, but it seemed like he was hesitant to tell him. He really didn’t have the time to deal with Daehyun’s dilly dallying, but what else could he do? It’s not like he was going to find the final Daehyun that he has to save. Though, once Daehyun’s arm began moving, Young Jae’s eyes seemed to be locked onto it until... Daehyun pointed at himself.

“I’m the last one..” (DH) Young Jae stared at Daehyun, whom seemed to refuse to make eye contact with him. He was both surprised and not so surprised that this Daehyun was the last one to save, but.. why didn’t he tell him sooner? Young Jae could have gotten this over with already! Though.. now that he thought about it, how was he supposed to save this Daehyun? He seemed relatively safe here. Still.. he was still fairly annoyed that Daehyun hadn’t told him sooner. Getting to his feet, Young Jae made his way over to Daehyun and he was about to grab Daehyun’s shirt, but both males instantly froze in place as they heard the sound of glass cracking. They quickly made eye contact, Young Jae silently questioning Daehyun, whom seemed to have gone rather pale.

“What.. was that..?” (YJ)

“We have to run!” (DH) The second Daehyun had a hold of Young Jae’s wrist, he began running with Young Jae in tow. Young Jae had been taken by surprise, but he managed to catch himself. It seemed like the second that they had left the room, all sounds of glass cracking could be heard all around them.. and it turned out that something really was happening. Young Jae had been right about the building not being able to withstand the pressure had this been reality. The walls, floors, ceilings, anything that was used to construct this building, all had cracks in it now. Young Jae stared in horror as he saw the water outside darken, almost as if the sky above had begun to feel some sort of pain and was trying to compensate it by creating a storm above.

“What’s happening?!” (YJ)

“You saved everyone, remember?! Because you did that, this world is collapsing, trying to keep you from completing your task! Just run!” (DH) So his own mind didn’t want him to wake up?! What kind of nonsense was this?! If it was because of his own stubbornness, then Young Jae was going to have quite a problem with this mind of his. For now though, he wondered where they were supposed to run to. There didn’t seem to be any sort of places where they could run to where they would be safe, but what else were they supposed to do?!

All around them, small pieces of the ceilings would fall down above them. The building shook from time to time as dust fell through the cracks, causing Young Jae to duck out of instinct. If it hadn’t been for Daehyun, Young Jae probably would have remained in place. Still, was it a good thing for them to keep running? All around them, the building was collapsing and there didn’t seem to be anywhere safe for them to run to. The glass was continually cracking, some portions of it finally sprouting leaks as small streams of water hit the duo every now and then. Just as Daehyun roughly rounded the corner, Young Jae slipped on a puddle of water, his hand slipping from Daehyun’s hand as he landed roughly on a pile of rubble. Young Jae let out a pained groan as he slowly pushed himself up to a sitting position, his stomach and knees feeling as if sharp objects had just punctured his skin. Looking down, he had just started to see blood oozing from the scrapes he had received on his knees before he felt a hand on his shoulder. “You’re hurt.. Hurry. Get on my back. I’ll carry you.” (DH)

With little to no time to argue, Young Jae knodded as Daehyun turned around, allowing Young Jae to climb onto Daehyun’s back. Once Daehyun had a firm hold on Young Jae, Daehyun quickly got to his feet before he began running once more. Sure, they were slower this time, but it was better to run like this as opposed to just sitting around and doing nothing. Daehyun would have probably stopped to treat the wound, but they didn’t have the time to do so. “Where are we even going?! We’re stuck down here without something to get us out of here!” (YJ)

“Just trust me!” (DH) Should he trust him? Daehyun has kept various secrets from him, but.. he’s also helped him numerous times. Young Jae tightened his hold on Daehyun, keeping his gaze low as he furrowed his eyebrows slightly. Even though he was a stubborn male, and yes, Young Jae acknowledged that fact about himself, Young Jae knew that he needed to trust Daehyun if he planned to ever get out of here.

“Alright.. I trust you.” (YJ) Daehyun smiled a bit, though Young Jae couldn’t necessarily see it. Daehyun felt energized by Young Jae’s words, but would it be enough for him to carry Young Jae all the way to where they needed to be? After all, dream or no dream, Daehyun had his own limits, both physically and mentally. Still.. it was better to receive some sort of boost as opposed to receiving nothing at all.

Just as they were about to turn another corner, a loud crash quickly caused Daehyun to come to a stop. Looking down the hallway that they had just come from, both males stared as they waited to see what that roaring sound was. They both hoped that the sound wasn’t what they thought it was, but it seemed like their fears soon came true. The second they saw raging water turn the corner that Young Jae had fallen at, Daehyun quickly began running once more. “How the hell do you plan to run from that while carrying me?! Just let me run!” (YJ)

“No! You’re hurt, so you’ll only slow us down!” (DH) Young Jae let out an irritated groan as he fought the urge to rub his head out of frustration. He didn’t even know if he would be able to run with his knees like this, but Daehyun was right. If it turned out that he couldn’t run, then it would be better to just be carried like this. Turning his head to look behind them, he could hear the water getting louder, signaling that it was getting closer. Since there were two different ways for the water to go, it could slow down the water’s progress towards them, but that would only buy them a small amount of time. He didn’t know how far this place was that Daehyun was taking them to, so he couldn’t tell if the amount of time they had would be enough.

A small gasp escaped Young Jae’s lips as Daehyun suddenly came to a stop. He was about to question what Daehyun was doing, but once he looked forward, he could see exactly why Daehyun had stopped. The floor in front of them had collapsed, revealing the floor below them. The gap seemed small enough to jump, but not when Daehyun’s holding Young Jae up like this. Biting his bottom lip, Daehyun tried to think of what to do before he carefully set Young Jae down onto his feet. It took a moment or so, but once Young Jae was safely and firmly standing, Daehyun took hold of Young Jae’s shoulders. “Okay.. I’ll jump across first and then you. Hold your arms out when you jump. That way, if you don’t make it, I’ll catch you. Does that sound good to you?” (DH)

“You... Are you certain that you’ll be able to catch me? I can barely even stand here like this without feeling as if my knees are about to cave underneath me, let alone jumping across a gap..” (YJ) Young Jae didn’t want to sound as if he was complaining, but he didn’t exactly want to go plummeting to the floor below and possibly becoming completely unable to walk. Plus, if he fell, then there was also the fact that they would be separated from one another. If he couldn’t walk, then there was just no way that he would be able to reunite with Daehyun if Daehyun chose not to jump down to him.

“I’ll catch you.. I promise. If you don’t want to do this, I can try and find something for you to climb across, but we don’t have much time.” (DH) Young Jae disliked the fact that Daehyun was pulling up points that made sense. Still, it was probably best just to go with Daehyun’s first plan instead.

“Alright.. I’ll try jumping. Just.. Just make sure you catch me.” (YJ) Daehyun nodded as he finally released Young Jae from his hold. Turning to look at the gap, Daehyun took in a deep breath before he ran a bit just before jumping. From what Young Jae could see, Daehyun just barely made it to the other side with enough of his foot firmly on the ground to propel him forward. Once Daehyun was stable, he took a few deep breaths before turning back to Young Jae and  crouching on the ground, his arm stretched out.

“Hurry! Jump!” (DH) Young Jae bit his bottom lip as he looked at the gap. His heartbeat was racing and he wasn’t entirely certain about this now. After all, Daehyun worked out far more often than he did and yet, he could barely make it over. How was Young Jae supposed to make it?! Still.. it was now or never and if he wanted to get out of this place and wake up, then he was going to have to do it regardless of how he felt.

Taking in a deep breath, Young Jae took a few steps back before quickly placing a hand on the wall to stabilize himself. His legs were threatening to give up underneath him, but he just needed to do this. He just had to try his best to jump as far as he can while putting all of his faith into Daehyun. Young Jae did, after all, say that he trusted Daehyun, so.. might as well just jump without any hesitation.

Gathering as much of his strength as possible, Young Jae took a few more deep breaths before holding his breath. The second he had done so, Young Jae began running as much as his body would allow him to. Just as he was about to jump, the edge of the ground caved out underneath him, causing Young Jae to slip and begin falling forwards instead. He shut his eyes tightly, his arms outstretched just as Daehyun said, putting as much faith in Daehyun as possible. Young Jae was so certain that Daehyun wasn’t going to be able to catch him, but the second he felt a hand wrap around his wrist, he wrapped his hand around the other person’s wrist before finally opening his eyes. He could see Daehyun briefly struggling for a moment to make certain that they were stable before the two looked at one another. “Y-You.. You caught me..” (YJ)

“I.. I told you, right? Now.. I’ll.. I’ll pull you up and you try to pull yourself up when you have the chance, alright?” (DH) Young Jae nodded and despite the fact that the building shook yet again, Daehyun begun to slowly and carefully pull Young Jae back up. Once Young Jae had been pulled up enough, he used his free hand to grasp the floor in order to quicken the pace up a bit. It didn’t take long before Young Jae was now laying on the floor, panting in an attempt to calm himself a bit. Daehyun would have let Young Jae rest more, but the sound of water approaching was an incentive to keep going. “Come on. We have to keep moving.” (DH)

“R... Right..” (YJ) With Daehyun’s help, Young Jae managed to get up to his feet before Young Jae got back onto Daehyun’s back. With a firm hold on Young Jae once more, Daehyun quickly began running once again. Young Jae still wondered where they were going, but they had to be close to their destination soon. “Are we almost there?” (YJ)

“Yeah.. Jus.. Just hold on.” (DH) Hoisting Young Jae up a bit so that he had a better grip, Daehyun turned the corner before picking up his pace. Looking ahead, Young Jae could see what instantly recognized as elevator doors, but how would an elevator help them? In an emergency like this, it was probably one of the worst ideas to have. In fact, they were technically supposed to take the stairs if they wanted to move from floor to floor. Young Jae could only hope that they would turn a corner or something, but as they got closer to the elevator, Young Jae could plainly see that there were no other hallways or even doors for them to go through. All that was left for them was the elevator that they now stood in front of. “Here.. Can you stand?” (DH)

Slowly, Young Jae was lowered back onto his feet before Daehyun pressed the button to call the elevator. As they waited, Young Jae turned around to see the waters turning the corner as it begun to approach them. Biting his bottom lip, Young Jae took hold of Daehyun’s shirt and tugged at it. “What the hell are we doing?! How is waiting for an elevator going to help us in any sort of way?!” (YJ)

“Just trust me! You’ll be safe once it gets here.” (DH) At that moment, the elevator made its usual ‘ding’ sound before the elevator doors opened. Young Jae was about to push Daehyun in, but he quickly stopped himself as all he saw was an eerie darkness, almost like it was a never ending void of darkness. Daehyun turned to face Young Jae as he took hold of his arms, giving him a serious look. “Alright. You have to jump in now.” (DH)

“Wait, what?!” (YJ)

“It’ll be the only way for you to be safe! Now go!” (DH) Just as Daehyun began to spin in an attempt to throw Young Jae in, Young Jae latched himself onto Daehyun, even going to the lengths of wrapping his legs around Daehyun’s waist. Daehyun had to catch himself before looking at Young Jae with a panicked look on his face. “You have to go in!” (DH)

“If this’ll really save me, then I’m not leaving you behind! I have to save you too, regardless of whether it was mandatory or not!” (YJ) Daehyun looked back at the waters that were quickly catching up to them. He needed to get Young Jae inside in order for Young Jae to wake up, but Young Jae was just making things difficult.

“Just go, Young Jae! Saving me has always been optional! You don’t HAVE to save me!” (DH) As Daehyun begun prying Young Jae off of him, Young Jae let out a small whine as he tried his best to hold on. However, it was far easier to think of keeping his hold as opposed to actually managing to do so. Young Jae just barely had enough time to grab onto the walls to keep himself from falling in. Looking up at Daehyun with a slightly angered look on his face, tears threatened to escape from his eyes as Young Jae shook his head.

“You have to come with me!” (YJ)

“I don’t know what will happen if I do. It could have negative consequences if I go in with you, so you have to go by yourself!” (DH) What did Daehyun mean by that? Just as he was trying to figure that out, Young Jae suddenly felt hands push him by his shoulders. His eyes widened, feeling the ground beginning to slip from underneath him. However, just before he was completely out of reach, Young Jae quickly grabbed hold of Daehyun’s wrist before pulling him along as well. Daehyun’s eyes widened, taken by complete surprise, as he soon fell into the darkness alongside Young Jae.

Before the waters reached them, the elevator doors closed behind them.

Chapter 35: I love this story so much! I waited with Reading cause I was reading another fanfic, but I shouldn't have waited... It's too good!!! I love the way you write, you put details in the story, but not too many, and because of that it's easy to read even when there are difficult words. Also, are you able to write everything in such a way that the reader can interpret fairly well whose thoughts it are. For example Youngjaes, where you use difficult words and show stubborness very well, and with Daehyun you get an easygoing mindset. It's totally awesome!! Love it!!!
