The sky was still a tint of dark blue when it was 6 am. Gary woke up and yawned, he turned to see Jihyo sleeping peacefully. He smiled at her. She had the covers up to her neck. He pulled it down and she reached for it. He laughed at her, looking at how innocent she was in her sleep. He leaned down to kiss her forehead, then nose, and when she was half-awake, her lips. As he kissed her lips, he could feel the smile forming on hers.

“Good morning.” He said between kisses. “Did you sleep well?” He asked her. She nodded, looking at him with a gentle smile. A contagious smile that he smiled in return. “Wae?” He looked at her, confused.

“Ani…” She said, shaking her head. She flashed him her usual smile again. “Why are we up so early?” She asked him.

“You’ll see.” He smirked. “Go shower.” He told her and got up. She looked at him, questioning his action, but decided to play along instead. She got up and took out her black shorts and a maroon long sleeve shirt. With that, she went on to shower. Gary took out her red sneakers and set them down along with her socks in front of their sofa. He too, got ready on his own. He took out his black sneakers and set it next to hers. He then changed into his black pants and white t-shirt. He took his cap and set it on the sofa. Jihyo came out of the bathroom. She had put on her CC powder and a soft pink lip tint. Her hair was let loose.

“Are you going to tell me where we’re going now?” She said as she headed to the sofa to put on her shoes. Gary just shrugged, enjoying his play. She rolled her eyes at him. Once they had put on their shoes, Gary stood up and held out his hand towards her. She took it as she stood up. They then went outside, and the chill of the morning breeze hit them. The sky had turned a shade lighter, but it was still rather dark. There was no one outside and they walked closer to the body of water. The two strolled down the beach. For a while, the two said nothing, but the comfortable silence told the two that they made the right decision. That neither one of them regretted their choice. They were happy and content.

“Let’s do something while waiting for the sunrise.” He said.

“So that’s what we’re doing here.” She said, catching him off-guard. She laughed when he realized what he said. “I’m going to find out sooner or later.” She said. She then looked around. She then found what she was looking for: a branch. “Here.” She gave him the branch. He looked at her confused. “Well you’re looking for something to do. We haven’t been to the beach if we haven’t written anything on the sand, right?” She said.

“Do you want me to write that I love you?” He asked jokingly, the two laughed at his statement.

“I already know that.” She said, looking away. He laughed at her and started scribbling on the sand. She watched intently. He then moved onto a higher ground, afraid that his scribble would fade away. After a while, she saw it: You’re my sunshine, sunshine… 눈부신 하늘이 너의 배경 같아, 미친 아름다움에 나는 눈을 못 떼네… She looked at it and laughed, rolling her eyes. “Ah, muoya, oppa.” She said, looking at him. He laughed at her apparent discomfort. She had never wanted her name to be mentioned in his songs. Nevertheless, he found ways to hint on the girl he was talking about. There was something very uncomfortable about having her name in the songs, especially since people will eventually sing his songs. She wouldn’t want her name mentioned by everyone singing that song, especially if it’s a love song. When it’s just a hint, though, she found it sweet. And a lot of people can maybe relate.

“I didn’t say it’s for you.” He smirked.

“Fine then…” She played along, and pretended to leave. He caught up with her and grabbed her hand. “Wae? Wae?” She turned around, laughing at him.

“I’ll break up with her and date you instead, then.” He said, continuing this play they didn’t even know was about. She just laughed along, playfully hitting his head.

“Oppa jinjja.” She laughed, breaking this act they have kept up for a bit. She then sat next to his scribble, adding random scribbles beside it. Gary snapped this view and saved it for himself, something he would always keep. He set his phone aside, deciding that they should enjoy the moment and each other’s company instead of tr
