It was already evening when the faculty introduction talk ended for Sungmin. Even though he successfully applied to Year 2 of the course with the modular credits he gained at another university before his transformation, the faculty required him to go through orientation with the first year students.

After the long day at school with all the screams from the fangirls, Sungmin decided on a peaceful walk back home. The 10km distance between his school and his house didn’t deter him at all. He could easily run up to 50km in an hour, but he didn’t feel like running today. Strolling down the road, he hummed a joyful tune while admiring the sunset.

“Did he lose his way? It’s already 8.30pm!
You two should have waited for him to finish and came back with him!” Leeteuk exclaimed worriedly, pointing at Eunhyuk and Donghae.

“Hyung, that’s unfair! Zhoumi was in school too!” Eunhyuk said, while Donghae sunk his face deeper into Eunhyuk’s chest on the sofa.

“Hey! I ended lessons in the morning! You can’t expect me to wait till evening and I came back to help Ryeowook with the cooking!” Zhoumi appeared from the kitchen with a soup ladle in his hand. He was reheating everyone’s dinner. Even though they can survive without food, they loved eating way too much to skip dinner.

“Stop fighting kids. I’m sure Sungmin will find his way back somehow. He’s not a kid anymore.” Kangin said, looking at his spouse’s worried expression on his face.

He walked over to Leeteuk and hugged his waist, calming him down.

Sungmin walked down the familiar path and stopped in front of a three-storey house.
Beside the gates, a sign that read ‘OHANA’ was put up on the wall. Leeteuk decided to name their vampire family ‘Ohana’ after bawling his eyes out watching Lilo & Stitch. It may seem like a silly name, but Sungmin liked it.

Ohana means family; family means nobody gets left behind. 
Sungmin smiled gently at the sign.

“He’s here. He’s searching for his keys.” Heechul announced when the vision of Sungmin searching his keys and entering the door flashed past in his mind.

“Get ready guys!!” Leeteuk said a bit too loudly and Kangin shushed at him. They wouldn’t want Sungmin to hear them now.

Everyone scuttled into the dining room as Shindong turned off the lights in the living room.

Yesung picked up the cake with his small hands and Ryeowook lighted the candles.

The rest grabbed the party poppers and hid in their respective positions.

Leeteuk closed the door after Shindong entered, putting a thumbs-up to everyone to check if they were ready. When he made sure everyone returned him a thumbs-up, he turned off the lights in the dining room.

Sungmin fumbled through his bagpack, looking for his keys.

He broke into a smile of relief when he spotted the pink bunny ears hidden beside his pencil case. Pulling at it, his electronic card key revealed itself, along with the other keys that hung on the key ring attached to the bunny.

Pushing the gates wide enough for him to slip through, Sungmin wondered why the house was so quiet. He walked past the front yard and peeped through the side windows. It was all dark and he didn’t see anyone in the house even with his night vision.

Sungmin unlocked the front door and entered the house.

“Teukie hyung?” He dropped his stuff on the sofa.

“Kangin hyung? Hello~ Is anyone home?” Sungmin pouted when there was no reply. He was looking forward to telling his family about his first day at college.

Expecting no one to be in the house, Sungmin walked listlessly towards the washroom. As he passed by the door to the dining room, thoughts drifted into his ears.
