Siwon’s watchful eyes followed Kyuhyun as the latter scanned the surroundings, politely thanking some schoolmates’ for their greetings and wishings. Word has spread around the school – thanks to Changmin – that the lead singer of their band got into an accident and had lain in the hospital for the past month.

After staying in the ward for the rest of the week, Kyuhyun was finally discharged the evening before. Despite everyone’s attempts at convincing him to rest at home for another day, he had insisted of having enough rest and wanted to get to school to relieve some of the boredom.

Siwon knew the real reason of Kyuhyun’s insistence to attend school was to search for his memories. It was the final week of the semester before examinations started and since Kyuhyun – as well as Siwon himself – had taken an entire-semester leave, attending lessons were unnecessary. Their graduation had already been pushed back one semester.

“The school pretty much seems the same,” Kyuhyun muttered to no one in particular as they walked towards the Math & Science building for their first lecture.

“What do you expect? An alien invasion that tore down all the buildings in these two months?” Changmin stifled a yawn with his hand.

Kyuhyun threw his arm around Changmin, trapping him in a neck hold. “I would be popping champagne if the aliens kidnapped you big mouth to their planet. Why does everyone tell me ‘Oh, Changmin said you were hospitalized’?”

“I can’t just shut people up when they come to me saying,” Changmin switched to a girly tone, “Oppa! What happened to Kyuhyun oppa? We haven’t seen him in school for so long! When are you all having a performance again? I wanna give Kyuhyun oppa the cake I baked! I miss Kyuhyun oppa! I wanna hear him sing!”

“Well, I bet they added ‘Changmin oppa! You’re so handsome! I think you’re a really nice person! Can you tell me what happened to Kyuhyun oppa please?’ and passed you food right?”

Changmin grabbed the arm around his neck. “Of course, the girls will only be nice to me because of their handsome Kyuhyun oppa~”

“Ha.ha. Very funny, Shim Changmin.” Kyuhyun pulled his hand away, adding a knock on Changmin’s head in the process. “You’re the one who always had the most fans.”

“Nah, your popularity totally surged after our performance at the Student Induction—”

“Which performance?” Kyuhyun probed as Changmin’s voice faded off and stopped in his steps.

`CM: . I shouldn’t have said that!

`SW: It’s fine. Just explain it.

`CM: But that vampire was there that day too, isn’t it? They had a bet or something!

“Siwon? What performance?” Kyuhyun turned to him.

“Student Induction Ceremony. We performed a rock version remake of Masquerade… Do you…?”

Kyuhyun’s gaze dropped to the ground. “No, I don’t. Not at all.”

“It’s fine, Kyu!” Changmin typed quickly on his phone. “Someone filmed our performance and uploaded it on YouTube. You can see your once-in-a-life-time smoking hot look.” Changmin held out the phone.

“Was I really smoking hot?” A small smile graced Kyuhyun’s face at Changmin’s exaggerated expression.

“Totally, other than the awkward arm-turning and head-shaking imitations of rocker actions.”

“What? What did I do?”

“See for yourself. You had a headache that day.”

When Kyuhyun returned Changmin’s grin with a cute, confused expression, Siwon failed to hold back his laughter, earning a slap on the arm from Kyuhyun.

Like the first day of school, the trio ended up in the cafeteria after the morning lecture, sitting in their usual spot.

“I’ll pay for lunch. What do you two want to eat?” Kyuhyun said, putting his bag down on the chair.

“Kyu, you don’t owe us any lunch, you know. You did treat us that day.” Changmin said.

“I know, but it doesn’t exist in my memory.”

“Kyuhyun…”

“Alright alright! Don’t you two give me that face, I’m fine! Take it as my thanks for taking care of me while I was in the hospital.”
