After a mind-boggling revelation, you couldn’t take away the doubtfulness and paranoia from a girl who just knew the past relationship of the guy she’s dating.

However, you could say that Jessica is half assured and half uncertain. In her heart, she is sure that Hae is sincere about his feelings for her just like he says, but in her mind, she is uncertain if Hae’s feelings for her is stronger than his feelings for the past girl. Having thoughts like these while Hae is trying his best to make some effort, she often scolds herself. She always asks herself how she’s able to question him when he’s treating her just like a princess.

On the other hand.

Have you ever felt that light feeling when you finally let go of a heavy burden in your heart? Hae has. He feels extremely relieved that he finally told Jessica something about his past. He always thought to himself that a relationship would not be possible if the exchange of feelings and thoughts only go one way. In a similar note, it would seem unfair to Jessica if Hae is the only one learning about her while she has a shallow insight about him. He felt relieved, that even for a bit, he started to open up to her.

He once read in an article that telling another person little yet important things about you makes them feel that they are trusted. [A/N: I just made this up, I’m not sure if this is true based on psychological studies, but I only assumed based on personal experience.] And in a relationship, this he knows so well, trust is extremely relevant.

While recalling the unveiling, he came to a point of realization and question himself. Did he tell her about Yoona? He scanned through his brain trying to figure out the answer, and when he did, he was torn—between feeling he did good by not telling her this small, almost irrelevant detail or feel bad because he missed telling her this little yet significant part.

There were times when they were together that he thinks he should tell her that important detail—that his previous lover was Yoona—but something inside of him was stopping him. He knows that it’s the proper thing to do, but his fear takes the best of him and he recedes. Fear? Fear of what? He himself has been searching for the answer. All he knows is that he thinks that something could go wrong if he tells her.

During these moments, he could only think of doing sweet and admirable things for Jessica. He tries his best to show his sincerity to her, so that if the moment comes that he would tell her or she find out, Jessica would not question his feelings. At least, that’s his plan.

With every single day passing, he becomes more and more scared of the coming of that day. He feels stupid because either way, Jessica would still know, may be it now or later. Paranoid he was, so he prepared himself. He avoided doing things that could make it hard for him to take back and for Jessica to understand in the end. As much as possible, he avoided any interaction with Yoona. Fortunately, she and him does not have any class together, so it became easier to do his goal. Also, the only girls he talk to are the Sica and the gang, his mom, female teachers, and classmates, only if necessary.

As usual, Donghae would pick up Jessica from her home. One time, he purposely came earlier than usual. The traditional gentleman in him wanted to ask permission from the one guy who is really close to and is the guardian of Sica.

Hae was welcomed by Kangta. “Oh. You’re here. Jessica is still upstairs. Would you like to come in?”

“Kangta-ssi. I actually came earlier. I, uhmm, want to talk to you about something.

Kangta was shocked. What could he possibly have to talk to him about? Well, he can only think of one thing, but he’ll have to wait for him to start talking to know if his hunch is right or wrong.

In response, he gave Hae a smile and gestured for him to enter.

“Okay. It’s really early in the morning, but what would you like to talk about? I bet it’s something really important.”

“Kangta-ssi”, even before he could speak, he was cut off by Kangta.

“Oh. Call me Hyung. I feel old if you use that extereme honorific. Continue.”, Kangta said.

“Hyung, I came here to talk to you about your dongsaeng. I would like to formally ask your permission to date her. I know that the sequence is wrong, since I asked her first before you, but it is still important for me to have your permission.”

Kangta couldn’t help but smile. So he was right. He was happy that there are still guys like him who respect, believe and follow this type of traditional courting style. With this, how could he refuse?

“How much do you love my sister?”, he asks.

“I don’t know how to measure love, but all I know is that I crave for her presence. Just her mere presence completes my day. Her smile also makes me smile. I feel happy every time I hear her laugh, especially if I’m the one responsible for it. I know it’s so fast, since we haven’t met for that long yet to call it love, but that’s how it is. I just.. fell.”

Donghae’s words made the smile plastered on Kangta’s face grow wider. He never had thought that the day would come that a guy would tell these words to him, about his sister. It made him admired his courage. Not everyone can do this thing, hell, not everyone can even confess to the people they love. He thought that a person who isn’t sincere would not be able to do this, so he didn’t even hesitate to give permission to Donghae.

With a smile, he pat Donghae’s shoulder, smiled and said, “Just promise me not to do the same thing as that other assh*ole of a guy did.”

The timing was pretty brilliant actually. The moment Sica walked in the living room, was the same time the two ((extremely hot ;) )) guys finished their “negotiation”. The two of them looked at her with happy smiles plastered on their faces, which confused Jessica. She was curious as to why they smiled like that, so she bothered her oppa first, but when he didn’t budge, she started to attack Hae.

Hae and Kangta looked at each other, giving each other meaningful looks, sending each other a common message, “Don’t tell her about this.”.

Kangta was happy, seeing his sister finally going back to the jolly person she used to be. The sister he dearly missed, who, despite being there, was not really there. He longed for the happy sister who would bother him so much over something silly. He thought he lost that sister.

“Yah. Tell me what you and oppa talked about back there!”, Jessica commanded.

Hae just smiled at her and messed up her hair. She acted as if she was irritated, yet she was still laughing.

Without Sica’s knowledge, Hae was actually preparing a surprise for her. He asked for the help of the guys and the rest of the girls, who were more than willing to help. They actually seemed to be more excited about the surprise than Hae himself.

They even asked Sungmin to help them.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it seems like there’s a handsome guy who wants to serenade a very special girl. Oh oh oh. If you think he’s referring to you or you just want to witness this super sweet event, head on over to the gymnasium. See you there!”, the speakers in the whole school boomed with Sungmin’s voice during beak time.

Not even a split second after the announcement, every girl in the campus came rushing towards the gymnasium. However, as usual, Jessica didn’t bother move. She’s rather enjoy the silence and sleep.

She was leaning her head in between her crossed-arms when someone covered her eyes with blindfolds. She was yelling and tried to escape, but she was no match to the person ‘blinding’ her.

The girls knew this would happen. Jessica doesn’t give much attention to these types of things, so they really  needed someone to do this to her.

“It would even add up to the surprise factor.”, said Sunny.

Jessica was then carried like a sack of rice on the person’s shoulders. She got tired of screaming, so she stopped and didn’t care anymore.

But then, she felt that the person carrying her stopped moving, and then he put her down. There was also this extreme silence surrounding her, yet she felt like there were other people around besides her abductor.

“Hello there, pretty lady. Would you mind taking off the blindfold now?”, said a familiar voice.

She took it off and saw that she was actually surrounded by a number of people, seemed like the whole school was there. She stood there, frozen and taken aback by the presence of this large group of people.

Seeing that her attention was elsewhere, Sungmin called her out again.

“Jessica-ssi! Thank you for coming! Although it looked like you were forced. But you’ll have to thank us that for later. As for now, enjoy this performance because all of these were put up for you.”, and he exited the stage.

There was a moment of silence before the whole crowd went wild.

One by one, Siwon, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk and Leeteuk appeared on stage. They each were holding microphones and smiling at here.

“Ahemm. Hi, Sica!”, they all said in chorus as they waved their hands toward her.

Sica awkwardly waved back while laughing. She’s slowly forgetting about the crowd and started focusing on the crazy guys up on stage as the people’s attention darted towards them.

The music started and the boys started to sing. The girls were wooed by the way their voices blended with one another, not to mention how they looked more handsome than they already were. You could see their eyes form in the shape of hearts.

The crowd swayed to the sound of Hae’s voice. Jessica was shocked at his sudden appearance, but it was then replaced by sudden bliss.

They looked at each other, eyes locking, no one dared break the stare and not one of them letting go of their smile. The girls actually planned that she stand at that exact position so that she’s standing directly in front of Hae.

Hae was only focused on Jessica that the surrounding seemed to have vanish, to have only the two of them, that he didn’t see the person who was also standing directly straight ahead of him—a person who would cause possible conflict to their now smooth-sailing relationship.

The performance ended  and the whole crowd when wild. Shouts and cheers covered the whole gymnasium, some were due to their fangirling towards the other guys and some were for the sweet and sincere serenade Donghae did.

That did it, Jessica’s heart was completely captured.

Even before the surprise, she was actually thinking of answering Hae. She thought that she would do it within the week, possibly the day after the next.

The other day, she actually consulted the other girls about it. She wanted to ask their opinion. She was actually thinking that the girls would tell her that it’s still too early to do it since he just started to court her not-so-long ago.

However, it was the opposite. The girls were actually waiting for the moment Jessica would answer Hae. They were really excited when she asked them about it. Without any hesitation, they said that she should do it.

“We don’t see why you have to prolong this actually. The moment he asked our permission to court you, we were already convinced that he’s a good catch.”, they said.

And there you go, the girls actually approved here decision with full support.  
 

However, with the discussion regarding Hae, Jessica purposely didn’t mention the fact that she knows Hae had a past girlfriend who was studying at their school. She thinks that it’s better for them not to know.

But that’s not really the situation. The girls were already aware of that fact, before she even was. They too, were thinking the same thing, it’s better that she doesn’t know. Or rather, she doesn’t hear it from them, but from Hae.
