The next day

Hyo Rin and Ricky arrived at the girl’s house. Unfamiliar car was parked in front of it.

“Are you having guests over at your house?” Ricky questioned as he glanced at the car before continuing the way to the house’ front door.

Hyo Rin shook her head, “I don’t know..” Then a random thought about the conversation she had with her brother the other night; You are getting married.

Hyo Rin gulped, “I think you should go.. You know how my parents will be if they see you now.” she said as calmly as she could.

Ricky noticed the change in the girl’s behavior, “Is everything okay?”

Hyo Rin beamed, “Of course, why wouldn’t they be?”

Ricky studied the girl, “If you say so.” he pecked the girl’s lips gently, “Go on in, I will see you soon~” he sang as he left waving back to the girl.

Hyo Rin sighed after the older boy had left. Then she opened the door and went inside. She was just taking off her shoes, when her mother came to the lobby to meet her.

“Where have you been?” Mrs. Shin asked she watched the girl take off her other shoe.

“Out with friends,” Hyo Rin answered shortly.

“Do you know what time it is?” her mom intrigued.

Hyo Rin sighed, “I know very well how much the time is.”

“You just kept our guests waiting,” Mrs. Shin crossed her arms.

Hyo Rin lowered her head, “You could have informed me to come home,” she muttered out.

“Don’t start that with me, Hyo Rin,” Mrs. Shin warned, “I better not hear that you were out with Kyu Ri again.”

Hyo Rin just listened; her mom was getting angry because Hyo Rin didn’t come home when the guests came. How in high heavens would have she known that some guests are coming over, if nobody told her?

“Now, come on,” Mrs. Shin waved her hand and gestured her daughter to follow, “You will meet someone.” Hyo Rin obediently followed behind.

There was four people sitting in the living room, including Mr. Shin.

As they noticed that Mrs. Shin and Hyo Rin had stepped into the living room, they stood up to greet the two.

Hyo Rin bowed at the three unfamiliar persons, who bowed back.

“Hyo Rin, I want you to meet the Oh family,” Mr. Shin smiled, before he gestured a hand towards a couple, around his age, “These are Mr. and Mrs. Oh.”

“Nice to meet you, Hyo Rin, I have heard lot of good things about you from your mother,” Mrs. Oh kindly shook Hyo Rin’s hand. The young girl couldn’t help, but smile slightly.

“And this is their son, Se Hun.”

Hyo Rin turned towards the boy, she studied him; he didn’t look much older than her, he was tall, slim and good-looking.

She noticed how the boy looked at her too. Their gazes met and they stared into each other’s eyes for a while, but quickly turned away when they heard a some kind of squeak:

“Omo, I can see the connection already!”

Hyo Rin’s cheeks turned slightly pink, while the tips of Se Hun’s ears were hot pink.

Everyone sat down and waited for someone to speak.

Mr. Shin decided to open his mouth, “I’m so glad you managed to come on so short notice.”

“Of course; we also want to get this quick,” Mr. Oh nodded at Mr. Shin.

“Since we are all here now, might as well tell the kids, what is going on,” Mr. Shin glanced at his daughter.

Hyo Rin and Se Hun both looked at their parents, before lowering their gazes to the ground.

“I want to announce that,” Mr. Shin took a breath, “we have arranged a marriage for you two.”

Hyo Rin’s eyes widened; Peniel was right.

“Dad,” the girl heard Se Hun say. He has nice voice, she thought before mentally slapping herself.

“Why now? Why are you doing this?” Se Hun questioned, as his eyebrows were slightly furrowed.

“You have to get married someday,” Mrs. Oh shrugged.

“I’m 18, mom, if you forgot,” Se Hun grumbled.

“So is Hyo Rin, but you don’t see her complaining about it,” Mrs. Oh reasoned, making Se Hun look at the younger girl. A dazed, surprised and frozen look was on the girl’s face. Se Hun softened; she’s in shock. God, why now?

“Isn’t it good that you get someone as sweet as Hyo Rin to be your wife?” Mr. Oh questioned, Se Hun glancing at his father.

“Hyo Rin,” Mrs. Shin called, “honey,” she placed a hand on the girl’s knee. Her head snapped up and she looked into her mother’s eyes.

Mrs. Shin searched her daughter’s eyes, “Are you okay?”

Hyo Rin took a shaky breath, “I-I think I a-am..”

“Should we let the kids go out and get to know each other better?” Mr. Shin asked the other parent couple.

“That’s a good idea. Se Hun,” Mr. Oh called, “Take Hyo Rin for a lunch, please her.”

Se Hun’s cheeks turned pink as he nodded, happy that he gets out of the situation.

Hyo Rin looked up as she saw a hand in front of her. She stared at the tall male, who stood in front of her.

“Come on, we are going out,” Se Hun softly said; not in a demanding tone, but not cooing either. The girl glanced at her mother, who nodded encouragingly.

Hyo Rin gently took the boy’s hand, who tugged on it and led the girl to the lobby where they put their shoes on. They left the house in silence, neither of them not making a sound for a few minutes.

“So,” Hyo Rin broke the silence,”I think we should get to know each other.. I’m Hyo Rin, if you didn’t catch that earlier,” she gave the boy a small smile.

Se Hun nodded, “It is very nice to get to know you. Even though this is not the ideal first meeting,” he shrugged while the girl giggled.

“At least we met,” Hyo Rin beamed. Se Hun noticed how cheerful the girl was, how easy it was to get along with her. No wonder their parents decided to set them up.

Se Hun led the girl down the street and tried to make small talk with the girl. “So, where do you want to go?” He asked the girl.

“Anywhere is fine with me,” Hyo Rin answered the boy.

“Hmm...instead of going somewhere fancy, why not go to something different?” Se Hun suggested and Hyo Rin nodded happily. Se Hun led the girl towards the semi fancy area where there were loads of cafés. The pair looked around the area, trying to find a good place to have lunch in.

“Oh!” Hyo Rin brightened, “Let’s go there!” she exclaimed cheerfully as she pointed towards a cafe, which had an outside patio; a little fence separating it from the street.

The girl began leading the boy towards the café, he was just following the happy girl.

They went inside and went to the line, that led to the cashier. Not long after arriving, the pair could place their orders; a vegetable soup with chicken for Hyo Rin, meat and rice with soup for Se Hun.

They went to the outside patio and looked for a good spot, near the fence. Their orders would be coming later.

Hyo Rin gazed at the boy across from her, “Se Hun-shi..” she started.

“Se Hun is fine, you can drop the formalities.” Se Hun said with a twinkle in his eyes.

“Oh, okay,” Hyo Rin nodded, “I take that you are in high school?”

Se Hun shook his head, “I finished a year early. I now work at the family company, almost full-day.”

Hyo Rin’s eyes widened as she squeaked, “You finished a year early?!”

Se Hun nodded as he watched the girl sigh.

“You must be really smart then,” Hyo Rin sighed, “I wish I had even half of your intelligence,” she fake-cried, making the boy chuckle.

“I’m not that smart,” but he got silenced by Hyo Rin’s look, “okay, maybe a little more than average.” he laughed, the girl laughing with him.

“And here you are, saying you’re not that smart,” Hyo Rin teased the boy. Se Hun laughed and then the waiter came with the tray of food for the two teens. Hyo Rin and Se Hun thanked the waiter and Se Hun got up from his seat gracefully. Hyo Rin looked at him and saw him taking the napkin and placing it on her lap gently. Hyo Rin couldn’t help but blush and thank the boy.

“Anything for Miss Hyo Rin,” Se Hun smoothly said causing the girl to let out a bubbly giggle.

Se Hun and Hyo Rin began eating their food. “So, how do you feel about this...marriage?” Hyo Rin couldn’t help but ask the boy. Se Hun grew silent for a moment. He looked at the girl and smiled.

“Truthfully, I didn’t know that my parents wanted me to get married soon. So this is all a big shock to me,” Se Hun spoke calmly while looking at his bowl of food.

“As am I,” Hyo Rin agreed while looking down with pink cheeks.

“Truthfully...I’ve never been in a relationship before,” Se Hun confessed while chuckling quietly. “Now that I’m getting married, supposedly - I feel that I just advanced,” Hyo Rin looked at him and felt a bit relieved.

“Since you are being truthful I feel that you should know that I am currently in a relationship. My very first one too,” Hyo Rin said while blushing at the thought of Ricky. “I’ve never had a boyfriend before so I’m pretty new to it. Now that I’m in a relationship with him, I feel happy being with him. I’ve never felt anything like this before when I’m with him. I feel that I’m learning how to actually have fun and be free from all of this wealth and money. Now that I’m thinking about him, he makes my heart skip a beat,” Hyo Rin confesses while smiling.

“You seem to really like this boy,” Se Hun was impressed with the girl’s action.

“I do, I do really like him but I feel that mother and father won’t accept him,” Hyo Rin frowned.

“Why’s that?” Se Hun blinked at the girl.

“They said it will be a dishonor if I marry someone who has less money than me,” Hyo Rin let out a distressed sigh.

“Don’t let them do that to you. Stand up to them - they shouldn’t control you like that,” Se Hun began while looking serious. “Hyo Rin, you really like this boy and I’m okay with you liking him. I for one am not ready to get married. You have someone that you like and care for. I see it in your eyes, you...should marry someone you love. Not through our parents because it’s just a pain. I don’t want your happiness to be ruined by this arranged marriage,” Se Hun explained while shaking his head.

“Se Hun...” Hyo Rin began while staring at the boy. She knew he was right, he is being truthful and honest about his opinions.

“Hyo Rin, we can stop this and you can be together with your boyfriend,” Se Hun looked at her and smiled.

“Se Hun, thank you so much,” Hyo Rin felt her heart skip a beat.

“Everything will be okay Hyo Rin,” Se Hun grinned at the girl. Hyo Rin nodded her head and smiled at him. ‘Thank you Se Hun, thank you so much,’ Hyo Rin thought. The two began chatting quietly and telling each other stories about their lives.

Coming from the other side of the street walked Kyu Ri with her new neighbor Kai. Kyu Ri ran her finger through her black locks and rolled her eyes at Kai’s comments. “I think you’ll look cute with brown hair,” Kai pictured while staring at her. Kyu Ri placed her hand in Kai’s face and shoved it away.

“Eff off, jerk, I’m walking here,” Kyu Ri hissed out.

“Tsk, you know what - I’m taking you to a salon later,” Kai came to an agreement. Kyu Ri shot a look at the boy that could kill him if it was possible.

“Don’t worry - I just want you to look cute. Not that you aren’t cute already, but it’ll make you wildly attractive,” Kai winked. Kyu Ri let out a low growl and gripped her fist tightly.

“You know what else would look cute? My fist in your face,” Kyu Ri shook her fist in the boy’s face and crossed the walking path. Kai ran after the girl and whined after the girl.

“Aww come on Kyu Ri~” Kai pouted. Kyu Ri shook her head and looked to seeing a familiar head in one of the restaurants. Kyu Ri walked up and looked carefully and saw her best friend with a boy that she hasn’t seen before.

“Hyo Rin?” Kyu Ri raised an eyebrow and the head looked over. The girl eating gasped and got up from her seat.

“K-kyu Ri! W-what are you doing here?” Hyo Rin gasped while blushing. Kyu Ri’s eyes glistened as she looked at her friend. Her eyes darted over at the boy who was staring at her as well. Hyo Rin glanced from Kyu Ri to her ‘date’.

“I was walking around getting ready for the trip. Who’s the walking chopstick? Where’s your lover boy?” Kyu Ri looked at the tall boy standing beside Hyo Rin now.

“Kyu Ri,” Hyo Rin started, “This is Oh Se Hun,” she paused, “my fiancé.”

Kyu Ri’s eyes almost popped out of her head, “Say what?!”

“My fiancé, Se Hun,” Hyo Rin repeated in quiet voice.

“And how in the screaming did this happen?” Kyu Ri studied the couple in front of her.

“Our parents arranged a marriage for us - that’s how,” Hyo Rin shrugged.

“Nice meeting you, Miss..?” Se Hun offered a hand towards Kyu Ri.

“Kyu Ri,” she started, “My name is Kyu Ri, Hyo Rin’s best friend,” she shook Se Hun’s hand briefly, before tugging away.

“Oh Se Hun-shi, you better not hit on her because she already has a boyfriend, you know that?” Kyu Ri raised an eyebrow.

Se Hun nodded, “I’m aware of that.”

“Good, but if you try to get funny with her, I will murder you,” Kyu Ri spoke, emotion not showing on her face.

“Kyu Ri, don’t scare him,” Hyo Rin giggled, before it stopped like it had hit a wall. The girl actually noticed the other boy, who was with Kyu Ri, “Oh, but is this your boyfriend?” she smiled.

“Wha-?” Kyu Ri started, but never got to finish it, because someone flung their arm around the girl’s shoulder.

“Yep, that’s me. Kai, Kyu Ri’s boyfriend,” Kai grinned at Hyo Rin.

“Oh, hi. Nice to meet you. I never thought Kyu Ri would have a boyfriend like you,” Hyo Rin giggled out, as Se Hun had a small smile on his face due the remarking.

“Me neither, but it happened,” Kai was smiling from ear-to-ear, making Kyu Ri fume.

Hyo Rin noticed how Kyu Ri’s brows furrowed and eyes narrowed, “You okay Kyu?”

“Of course,” Kyu Ri gritted her teeth, “Kai is just a sweet little piece of ...” she muttered as she tapped the boy’s cheek multiple times, each time getting harder, before slapping him for a last time; a loud slap can be heard.

Se Hun’s eyes widened as he stared at the ‘couple’. Hyo Rin laughed, “Aww, you two~”

Kai pouted as he held his cheek. “Aww, did I hurt your cheek?” Kyu Ri asked as she started pinching the poor boy’s cheeks, “My baby Kai~”

Kai looked over at Kyu Ri and saw her with a devious smirk upon her lips. He then knew that she was toying with him and this was all joke. Kai then took the girl's hands off of his cheeks and stared at her.

“Aww you two are so cute,” Hyo Rin cooed at the couple in front of them.

“...Of course, we’re just...so darn cute - isn’t that right Kai?” Kyu Ri hooked arms with the boy and forced a smile.

“You know it, baby,” Kai nodded while smiling. “So, you two are in an arranged marriage,” Kai focused the two in front of them. Se Hun and Hyo Rin looked at one another and nodded.

“How do you plan on telling Ricky this?” Kyu Ri looked at Hyo Rin.

“I don’t know how to explain this to Ricky just yet...” Hyo Rin began while frowning earning an arm wrapped around her shoulder. She looked in the corner of her eye to seeing Se Hun.

“Well if anything I’ll try to help you Hyo Rin,” Kyu Ri gently said while smiling at her friend.

“...thank you Kyu Ri,” Hyo Rin smiled at her.

“We’re friends even if your parents don’t like me, who cares,” Kyu Ri shrugged while feeling Kai looking at her.

“Best friends,” Hyo Rin beamed brightly.

“Well, we’ll leave you to your eating. Call me if anything goes wrong or if he plans on getting grabby around you. I’ll come save you as soon as I can. I’ll chop off his and shove it down his throat,” Kyu Ri stated while her eyes narrowed.

“Now baby, don’t scare the poor boy,” Kai patted her shoulder softly.

“...oh course...baby, I’m sorry for my behavior,” Kyu Ri gritted out sweetly. Hyo Rin was surprised at Kyu Ri’s actions. Usually she would have possibly killed those who interfered her threats. Hyo Rin looked at the two and thought, ‘Maybe...they are going out, they seem to be on good terms...’

“Anyways, we have to go get Kyu Ri’s hair done nicely so Hyo Rin? You’ll see a difference in her tomorrow or so,” Kai winked and waved at Se Hun. The two nodded and bid their goodbyes.

“See you later you two,” Se Hun waved goodbye as the two walked off. Hyo Rin grinned and looked at Se Hun.

“Excuse Kyu Ri, she’s usually like that,” Hyo Rin said while chuckling. Se Hun shook his head and smiled at her. “Any friend of yours is a friend of mine,” Se Hun smiled and led the girl back down to her seat.
