Happy Valentines Day!

You bite your lower lip in irritation as an imaginary doom cloud struck thunders above you. Today was Valentine’s Day and today was the day you finally got the courage to confess your feelings to him indirectly—by giving him a chocolate cake. But like any other ordinary days, life would always mess things up.

You were supposed to give ‘him’ the cake, but somehow your foot got caught while walking, causing you to trip in front of him—making the cake splat against his face. What was worse, was that his fan girls that were crowding around him were glaring you down intensely. If looks could kill, you would’ve died then get resurrected only to die once again by them.

You sulked silently to yourself before laying your head against the surface of the desk. Letting out a small sigh, you couldn’t help but feel the embarrassment engulf you.

“Are you alright?” a familiar voice asked while a chocolate scent filled your nose. Turning around, you find yourself looking at the brown eyes that you fell in love with but they held worriedness.

“I’m fine” you mumbled in response, returning back to your depressed mode. Why did everything have to turn out wrong? Why did you even bake that cake in the first place? Oh that’s right, because that boy was your crush. And when a girl has a crush, they would do something, almost anything, to just to impress that person.

Ever since the first meeting with him at the flower shop, you started to have feelings for him. You always ponder when you could meet him again but to your surprise, he somehow transferred into your school. It didn’t take long for him to become popular like the other handsome boys in your school, and then in a split second, he became the school’s kingka.

It irked you on how many fan girls, would always try to seduce him with the way they adjust their school uniforms to make it shorter and more revealing, it almost made you feel like you wanted to hurl. But somehow even with the girls failed attempts, you would find yourself gaining most of his attention somehow.

“Whatcha staring at?” he questioned, causing you to finally realise he was sitting in front of you with his usual lopsided smirk.

“Quit smirking Jung Daehyun” you replied with a frown, there can be times where you would be swooning over him but there are other times where you just wanted to get rid of the smirk of his, it can be quite irritating. Daehyun let out a chuckle at you before leaning his arm against your desk, almost brushing it against your own.

“You know that cake you made, it tasted great but it would have been better if I ate all of it.”

You pursed your lips as you stare at him with sad eyes. “I’m sorry”

His eyes soften as he watched you. He shook his head in reply, “You don’t have to apologise, it was only an accident” he muttered softly causing your heart to race.

“But.. you were supposed to eat it, not wear it” you replied, frowning as you still saw frosting on him. Daehyun just laughed at your expression before flicking your forehead.

“Hey!” you yelped.

Daehyun smiled. “Pabo, I don’t need a chocolate cake from you. I have you” he said while your eyes widen.

“W-What?” you spattered out, your face flushing a shade of red. Daehyun laughed at your flushed face.

“Aigoo~ look how red you are” he cooed while cupping your cheeks with both hands. You felt your whole world spin as he leaned in close to you, your heart raced once more at the close contact. 

‘He’s too close!’ you thought as you shut your eyes in embarrassment. Daehyun let out a small chuckle at your bashfulness before leaning and planting a kiss on your forehead, causing you to open your eyes in shock.

“You have no idea how much my heart shook, when I saw the chocolate cake you baked for me” Daehyun muttered softly. Your eyebrows stitched together in confusion.

“Huh?” you replied bluntly, tilting your head to the side.

Daehyun just laughed before shaking his head. “I mean…” he continued, “that feeling when your heart races when someone that you like gives you something—just for you. My heart couldn’t help but race when you gave me that delicious present of yours.”

You pink at his words. “B—but you didn’t even taste it! And how can you like someone like me?” you replied, crossing your arms with a pout.

“Oh I don’t know,” Daehyun said with a shrug, “I guess I just do.”

“Ever since the time I bumped in to you and helped out at the flower shop, I knew that you were the one that I would love”

You laughed at the memory. Daehyun was just walking around the streets of Seoul before accidently bumping to one of the flower pots outside the shop. The old woman, who owned the shop, scolded him for that and he had to help out in the shop with you. Both of you were silently working before both of your hands brushed against each other when you two were about to pick up the same flower on the floor. You blushed at the memory—it was that moment when you fell for him, that moment when you made eye contact.

“But you could have chosen those other prettier girls than me” you muttered eyes landing on the floor.

Daehyun crooked a brow at you and his hands slid from your face to your hand that was placed upon the desk. “But they are not as special as you” he countered causing you flush pink once again. Before you could reply, your eyes widen in shock as you felt a pair of lips on your own.

It was soft, like you anticipated but it also felt perfect against on your own lips. You didn’t feel like moving at all but instead you just leaned in and kissed back causing you to feel Daehyun smile into the kiss. When you two broke a part for air, Daehyun cupped your face again and smiled.

“Happy Valentine’s Day” he said before giving you a quick peck on the lips. You giggled at him and smiled also.

“Be my Valentine next year?” you questioned. Daehyun laughed in response before nodding his head.

“Every year I will be”
