Helpless
Smashing The Hourglass~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
How did this happen? How did she end up like this?
Miah couldn’t grasp what she had just done. She could not fathom it, and the only thing keeping her from crumbling with the weight of it was to keep running.
She was always running though wasn’t she? That’s what it felt like at least. Even when she wasn’t running her heart or her mind was. Ever since she entered this place she has been running. Even when she tricked herself into thinking she had become accustomed to its darkness, she was still running from it.
And now this has happened…she knew she couldn’t go back now. She destroyed everything without even meaning to, and why? Because she couldn’t face the pain of seeing her friends again? Of having them seeing her as the monster she is?
They wouldn’t want her now; surely not. So what was the point? Why should she continue to haunt this earth?
Miah looked up; she had reached the edge of town. The lake lay before her, fog rolling off it in waves. It looked so inviting.

“Oh god, what are we going to do?”
“Calm down Jae, just hold this against his head while I go see if Suho needs help.”
Heather handed the bundled cloth over to the other girl and made her way across the abandoned apartment to Suho and his patient. “How’s it going over here?” she asked the male. He looked up with a sad look and shook his head. The female couldn’t help but kneel in disheartenment.
Brushing Yoona’s hair off her cooling forehead he said, “The shock hit her first; it used almost all its energy on her. The only thing we can hope for is that she went quickly; without feeling too much pain.”
Bowing her head, Heather looked through her lashes at the still pink cheeked girl before her. “She looks like she’s sleeping,” she mumbled. Suho nodded his head, and then looked over at his friends. “I know, but at least Kris doesn’t look like he’s sleeping. He’s definitely in pain if his scrunched face is any indication, but he only got the after shock.”
“What are we going to do?” she asked finally.
His attention drawn back, Suho looks at her downcast face. With Kris out for the count, Jae too hysterical to think straight, and Heather’s mind off with her father; that left only him to make a clear decision for the group. And right now, the only thing he could think of, the only hope they had, was what got them into this mess in the first place.
Standing, Suho clears his throat. “I’m going out now,” he announces.
“Out?” Heather questions, “It’s almost night fall. Any minute now the sirens will blare. We’re safest here for the night while we figure things out.”
The male shook his disagreement, “I’ve already figured it out, and that’s why I’m going. Don’t worry though; I’ll be back soon.”
He walked toward the door, hand ready to turn the knob when a small rock smashed against the wall near his head. He glanced back to see Jae glaring at him. “You’re going to look for her aren’t you?” she accused. When he said nothing she kept on, “She did this Suho. She isn’t who we used to know. She’s a monster now!”
Bowing his head so his bangs covered his eyes, the brunette clutched the door handle tighter “I’m disappointed in you Jaehwa. All this time you’ve held out hope, even when I myself was starting to lose it. She’s practically your sister; the only one you have after Junggie, so don’t fool yourself. You aren’t mad at her; you aren’t even mad at me. The only person you’re mad at right now is yourself and we can all see it….but you don’t need to be. What you did…all these years, it’s understandable. You don’t have to regret it, and you don’t have to let your current feelings run you. Just stay by his side, and when he wakes up, which I p
