Happy Reunions?

Love Covers a Multitude of Sins
Seoul, Republic of Korea   November 3, 2016

The only reason JungMin was not overly late to the office was that his Mother had a no-nonsense approach to getting him out of bed.  She simply ripped his blankets off and doused him with cold water,
 - "Minnie-ah, your shower is ready and waiting.  Unless you want it cold I suggest you get up."  She was already pulling on his ear until he got up, still protesting.  She marched him right into the bathroom.  "Unless you want me to remove your clothes for you, I suggest you get to it."
 - "Eumma!!"

Once she heard the sound of him stepping into the shower, her Mission was accomplished.  It was time to get breakfast ready.

JungMin used his Father's car while in town.  Now retired, he didn't use it daily and he could always just drop his son off at work if need be.  JungMin was already late, so he stopped by Starbucks to buy coffees for the girls and another carrot Juice for him.  He never knew who would be in on the architectural side, so he only bought for the three girls.  Arriving, he flashed his smile at JiNa who was ready to give him the day's schedule.  "JiNa-ssi, have calls forwarded to the voice mail and let's have a meeting in Ilana's office."
 - "Deh, Park ChaJagnim (Senior Manager)."
Dutifully carrying out directions, she followed.
 - "Yeoja, meeting!"  He beckoned the other two, who looked at each other, laughed, and followed him.  They had no complaints about Mina, she was a great boss, but JungMin brought with him a party atmosphere, into the office.
 - "Annyeong hashiminika Park ChaJagnim!"  MiRi greeted.
 - "Good morning!  Arraseo; everyone, take a coffee."
 - "Kansamnida!"

Once everyone had their coffees and adequate amount of cream and sugar, JungMin opened the meeting.  "Arraseo, spill it...," the girls all looked at each other curiously.  "What's the story between Rodriguez Bu-Sajang and nae chingu Heo YoungSaeng?"
MiRi pounced on the subject.  "Omo!!  What does ChaJagnim know?"  Her eyes danced merrily.
 - "Enough...Na want to know what you three know?"
 - "We're sure she has a namja chingu,"
MiRi said.
 - "Na overheard her ordering a hanbok before Chuseok," MinSun said.
 - "How long have you known about this trip?"
 - "A while now, she told us after her vacation to Japan,"
Miri replied.
 - "That's right; she did say she'd been in Japan...when was that?"
 - "End of July?"
 - "End of July...that coincides with his musical...?"
 - "Deh, it does!  Now I remember hearing her tell Chi Geonchugga the relationship was new.  Na was passing by his office and overheard them.  Na didn't think it was anything important at the time."
 - "Na hear her humming some of his songs
," MinSun added.  "When Chi Geonchugga is out of the office she especially plays his CD's."
 - "YoungSaeng-ssi did make a point to come and treat us to lunch before his launch party,”
MinSun
recalled.  "JiNa-yah, remember you screamed when you realized it was him?"  No one had noticed up to this point, how JiNa sat quietly, with almost an 'I know something you don't' smile on her face.  "JiNa-yah?  Where are you?"  MinSun waved her hand in front of the receptionist's face.
 - "Omo!"  JiNa said, startled.  "MinSun-ah!  Wae did you that for?"
 - "JiNa was just smiling and staring into space."

JungMin stood from the desk and using the beam of light from his cellphone shined it on JiNa's face.  "Rodriguez BuSajang and nae chingu are both flying out to the states later today; did JiNa-ssi make the travel arrangements or know something about it?"
JiNa had a deer caught in the headlights' look.  Panicking, she stuttered a bit.  "A-ani?"
 - "JiNa-ssi...just tell us what you know and JiNa can return to work.  We won't say anything, deh?  We just want to be happy for them, deh?"
 - "If JiNa knows something, she better confess."

MiRi could be quite the bully if you let her.  And JungMin was indirectly giving her full authority to bully the lowest ranking office member.
 - "Anieyo!!  ChaJagneeeem," she tried her aegyo and waved her hands in front of her face, laughing and hoping to get the light out of her face.  Truthfully, JiNa was YoungSaeng's go-between when it came to Mina.  Sometimes he would text her to know what Mina was wearing or if she ate lunch.  On those occasions when he woke up early, he'd text JiNa to ask her to text him the second she walked in the door.  YoungSaeng bribed her with autographed memorabilia from either himself or one of his friends.  She didn't ask for it, but it paid to keep his informant happy.
 - "Jeongmal?  Mina Unnie hasn't said anything to you?"
 - "Anieyoooo!!!"
At least she could tell the truth there.  It wasn't Mina that told her anything.
 - "Who are we kidding," MiRi pouted.  "JiNa only does what she's told to do.  She's not any fun at all."
JiNa looked down at the ground with a small smile on her face.  She had gotten out of the hot seat.  In a culture where the first-year graduates were treated the worst in a company, Mina and Ilana had taught her to defend herself and not think of herself less than the others.  Her role in the company was just as important.
 - "Let's review what we know so far," JungMin said.  "1) They've spent a lot of time alone together, getting ready for his debut.  2) He calls her jagiya.  According to Mina-ssi, it's only when he wants something from her.  3) They were caught close enough to kiss at his debut..."
 - "Mwo?  Chinchayo?!"
MiRi and MinSun both shouted at once.  JiNa just smiled at the thought.
 - "Yah!  Don't interrupt.  4) She has a boyfriend.  5) It's safe to say she and said boyfriend were in Japan together.  5) She said he was an Angel.  Joking or not, you don't call your employer an angel.  The coordi Noona's did go along with her, but they could know something.  They said he received texts and phone calls all the time and a mysterious package...hmm.  Did she order anything, prior to her trip?"  He spoke to JiNa.
 - "Anieyo ChaJagnim."

JungMin scrutinized JiNa for longer than she felt comfortable with, before continuing.  "6) The other idols know something...in fact...Mina-ssi is a model did you know?"
 - "Andwae?!"
MiRi was amazed.  "Wae is she working here?"
JungMin Shrugged, "Parents, most likely.  One of the idols said...something to her about modeling.  They recognized her...Na should have too.  I never forget a face.  What...did that idol say...?"  His wheels were turning, he couldn't believe he hadn’t recognized Mina from the video game, but he supposed she did look a little different with a lot more clothing on.  He grinned to himself.  "He said...if she ever needs another namja for a gig to call him..."
MinSun's wheels were catching up to JungMin’s.  "That means someone he knew has modeled with her before or maybe recently."
 - "Exactly!"
 - "ChaJagnim, I'm trying to search for Mina Rod...
 - "ChaJagnim..."
J
iNa tried to distract him, she didn't want the couple's secret out.
 - "Mina-ssi said she only worked for one person..." JungMin interrupted both, trying out different search names on his phone.
 - "...we should turn the phones back on.  Chi Gonchugga and Mina BuSajang won't like it..."
 - "Just a little longer,"
JungMin began to ramble.  "It Started with K...Key?  Ani...what was that name...Shim!  That was one of his names...Key...ani...not Key...Kyu...Kyoto Shim!  Found him."  JungMin looked up, grinning ear to ear from his success.
- "ChaJagnim!"  JiNa desperately tried to get him to stop.  "If YoungSaeng-ssi is really dating Mina Bu-Sajang, they will tell us when they're ready, deh?"
 - "JiNa-ssi, ara nae chingu; he'll hold back forever."
 - "Hajiman..."
JiNa tried to stall as long as possible.
 - "Oh look!  Here she is!"  JungMin flashed his phone for the girls to see.  Excited ooh's and squeals of delight arose from the girls, except JiNa who looked worried.  "Ah, that makes sense..." He looked up to his audience.  "She uses a different name...Fuji, instead of Rodriguez.  Wau...no wonder YoungSaeng fell for her, he probably saw these pictures."
 - "I wanna see!"
 - "Nado!
"
Both MiRi and MinSun crowded around him.
MiRi suddenly squealed, "There they are!"
 - "Aww, look at his eyes...the way he looks at her!"
MinSun gushed.  "That can't be acting."
Despite her worry, JiNa wanted to see.  "Na do want to see!"  Scooting in, she smiled at the two.  "Haengbohkaeyo!  Bu-Sajang and Heo YoungSaeng-ssi yippeun!"  JiNa was very happy for her V.P. and her newest bias but still couldn't help worrying about JungMin poking his nose into their business.  "ChaJagnim won't say anything, deh?  What if YoungSaeng-ssi gets in trouble?"
 - "Mollan anjji (of Course not)!  Na just want to have a little fun.  If they don't confess by the time they get back, they're going to get it."
JungMin wore the same wicked grin he usually wore when thinking of ways to torment HyungJun.  He didn't know what 'it' was, but he'd think of something.  "Pali pali!  Get back to work!!  JiNa, turn on the main phone and get me those statistics Mina-ssi told me about yesterday.  MiRi, MinSun, Na expect the proposal for Crown confectionery by the end of the day!"
 - "Deh Chajagnim!"

Everyone scattered to do their jobs and JungMin, still smiling to himself, sat down to do his.

- "Saeng il chuka hamnida...saeng il chuka hamnida…saeng il chuka hamnida Orabeoni, saeng il chuka hamnida...!"  Mina sang for a sleepy otter that came stumbling out of the spare room.
 - "Mmm." he was not awake enough to give her more than a kiss on the cheek and his otter's smile.
Mina poured him a glass of water and handed it to him.  "Anjayo, na made you hangover soup and na snuck out and bought us Manjoo to celebrate Orabeoni's birthday."

 - "Chincha?"  He sat down, accepting the water.  "I'm not hungover?"  He laughed.  It took a lot more than a few late-night drinks to get him hungover.

Mina had called ia at the corporate office to re-arrange their flights to New York instead of Los Angeles.  When they found out they would be leaving a few hours later, they threw on their ball caps and dark glasses, Mina wore a mask and scarf and went to the store to buy soju.  She usually only kept wine in stock and mused that she would have to start keeping beer and soju for her boyfriend.  As silly as the thought was, it made her happy  "Mollah,” Mina shook her head at him.  "We have a long day ahead of us and Orabeoni needs the vitamin C and asparagine are found in the soup to get him through.”
 - “Gwenchana, na have Manjoo as a birthday morning treat.”
 - “Na didn't think Orabeoni would want seaweed soup."
 - "Ah, na Jagiya is daeback!"

Mina placed the little Manjoo cakes on a plate in the middle of the table.  YoungSaeng tried to sneak one while she was distracted.  Seeing a strange movement out of the corner of her eye, "Yah!"  She gave his hand a smack with her spoon.  "Finish your soup and some of the sides or Na will put them away in the freezer until our return."
YoungSaeng pouted and began to eat his soup, which was actually very tasty.  "Gomawo, jagi didn't have to do all this?"
 - "Anieyo!  It's simple, miahnae; Na didn't want to make a huge mess before leaving.  We will have a big celebration when we get home.  Whatever Orabeoni wants to eat, Okasan and I will make it."
 - "Ah, na will have to think of what treats I want to eat."
 - "We should leave the luggage at the airport and hang out in Incheon, deh?"
 - "Arraso, what is jagi, thinking?"
 - "We could spend the day at the beach..."
Mina frowned after thinking again:  “Ani, it's too cold and Orabeoni doesn't like seafood.  There's a big spa in Incheon...?  Couples massage?"
 - "Only if na can do the massaging..."
 - "Anieyo,"
she shot down her Otter boyfriend very quickly.  "Wae don't we walk around the beach and then have a picnic in the park."
 - "Wae don't we walk around the Simpo International market and then take our food to Incheon grand park for a picnic, deh?"
 - "Chinchayo?  We'll have to wear our disguises...?"
She wasn't that crazy about having to throw on a disguise to go out with her boyfriend, but that's the price of dating an idol.
 - "Wae?  Jagi doesn't like that idea?"
 - "Gwenchana, gwenchana!"
She wasn't going to let a little disguise stop her from a birthday date with her boyfriend.
After finishing their soup and sides, Mina lit a candle and placed it on top of the neatly arranged pile of Manjoo cakes.  "Orabeoni, make a wish!"
 - "Mollah!"
He laughed.  "Na have so much I never dreamed of, can I ask for more?"
 - "It's Orabeoni's birthday.  Wish away; hokshina the wishing fairy will grant you one little one."

YoungSaeng thought hard about what he should wish for.  The obvious and most sincere wish would be success with Mina's parents and Ilana.  With that thought, he blew out the candle.  "Gomawo, jagi.  Na must be the luckiest namja to have you by nae side."
 - "Flatterer,
"
she gave him a peck on the lips.  She loved his sweet talk, but sometimes she was overwhelmed, wondering if she could possibly be dreaming.  "Saranghaeyo."
 - "Yah...na just get that little kiss?"
 - "Ani, na have a present for you."

She picked up a Manjoo and stuck it in his mouth before running to her room and back.  "Saeng il chukahae, Orabeoni."  Mina handed him a green cloth tied parcel.
His eyes lit up like a kid at Christmas.  Who doesn't like to get gifts for their birthday?  He took a Manjoo with his chopstick and made sure she bit into it.  Opening his gift, he was surprised and excited to see BOSE packaging.  "Jagi?"  Whatever it was had cost a good amount.  He didn't want her spending money on him.
 - "Na see that look on Orabeoni's face," she put down her pastry and took his lovely face in her hands.  "Na make good money and I live very inexpensively.  This is Orabeoni's first birthday with me, wae can't I spend money on those I care about?"

Little did she know he could melt in her gaze as much as she could in his?  Blinking only once, he took her face in between his own hands for a sweet fruity flavored kiss.  "Gomawo...na want to treat jagi to something nice when we get to California, deh?"
 - "Arraseo,"
she said shyly.  It didn't take much to make her happy and YoungSaeng made her exceedingly happy with anything he did.  "Pali, open it before I return them."

 - "Aish!  Who did nae jagi give this too?"  He was grinning like a jack-o'-lantern as he cut through the packaging with scissors she had helpfully provided.  His eyes opened wide in appreciation at the turquoise blue noise-canceling earphones from BOSE.
 - "They're sport, so Orabeoni can dance or work out with them on and they won't fall off..."  Mina was just as excited.  They were on sale for $50 below retail and she couldn't help grabbing them.

   - "Choayo!  Nomu choayo and nae Mina-yang too.  Gomawo, na will use these well."  She had been hovering over him, impatiently waiting for him to open his gift.  He held her hand, not letting her go and in a very cool move, he pulled her down to his lap.
 - "Orabeoni!"
 - "Na just want to hold nae Mina-yang for a little while."
He was beyond happy with his life at the moment.  It couldn't get any better.  He nestled her against him and she happily leaned her head against his chest.  Just tall enough not to be considered petite, she was still short enough to fit comfortably under his chin and when in heels, her lips lined up quite nicely with his.
Mina couldn't resist nuzzling into his neck and nipping at the sensitive flesh under his jaw.  He always smelled so good, even when he just woke up.
 - "Mmm.  Na see that Jagi doesn't want to play nice.  Hokshina we just won't leave the apartment until it's time for us to leave."  The idea had some merit as they didn't have to worry about disguises, but they would have plenty of boyfriend/girlfriend time when they got to the states.

U.S.A.
On board the American Airlines A321 Airbus, Jihoo looked over to his wife.  The death grip on his hand had relaxed; she was finally asleep.  They flew business class, so they could sit side by side with HaEun nestled in her sling against Umma.  Three more hours and they would be in New York.  While he no longer needed to medicate her to fly, it didn't mean she was comfortable with it.  During liftoff, she nursed HaEun as best she could, but their daughter could feel her Umma's anxiety, which actually restricted the milk flow.  Of course, they were prepared with a few bottles, which Jihoo had warmed in the lounge prior to departure.  Appa took over her feeding, while Umma grabbed onto a fistful of his shirt.

The day before, Ilana and HaEun had gone to the office and were surprised to find Appa waiting for them, on their return home instead of them for him.  "Annyeong, Sarang," he gave her a welcome home kiss and took HaEun into his arms.  "Was gongju a big help to Umma today?"  HaEun recognized Appa immediately and gave him an excited squeal.
 - "Sarang!  What happened?"  Ilana asked a little worried.
 - "Wae, na can't come home early?  Gongju, Umma is not happy to see Appa," he smiled at his cute baby girl, who smiled back.
Ilana laughed as they walked in the door together.  "Greomyo!  Pabo HaEun Appa.  Jeongmal, what happened?  Sarang doesn't get home until six?"  It was only half past five.
Brendon walked behind them and immediately stored her bag in the office, while his boss and husband went into the media room.  "Na had some homework to do.  Brendon picked me up around lunchtime and Na didn't want to disturb you."  Not long after his phone call from Jaejoong, he received a phone call from the hospital director, letting him know that the NYP director had already been in contact with him.  He was free to leave after making sure the mobile clinic would be adequately staffed for a few days.  He ordered pizza to be brought to them for lunch and advised his staff that he'd be leaving for a few days.  Leaving Dr. Kyle in charge and borrowing a nurse practitioner from urgent care, he was confident they would not be understaffed in his absence.  The only drawback was not having his specialty during this flu season.  He shook his head in amazement.  Less than twenty-four hours after his wife accepted that he would not let her fly to New York and toss her necklace off the empire state building, he received Jaejoong's call asking him to come to New York.  This had to be a direct answer to his prayer for his wife to have peace and forgiveness in her heart regarding YoungSaeng.  The Lord must know that a trip to New York was the key.  And since, as her husband, there was no way he'd let her travel alone, he too was pressed into action.  He had come home to review the patient's file and make a treatment plan.  Jihoo's NYP security clearance was still valid, as he worked for a sister hospital.  Jaejoong sent him the link to the file and they'd been corresponding off and on during the afternoon.  He had also called ia at his wife's company, to make arrangements to fly to New York.  Jaejoong offered to send them back home on his parent’s aircraft, as they were in town awaiting the birth of their third grandchild, including Isabel.
 - "Chinchayo?  Did Sarang get a new assignment?"
 - "Deh..."
Jihoo had placed HaEun tummy down on her mat and he laid down facing her and pointing at things on her mat.  "Sarang needs to get ready for us to leave for New York tonight."
 - "Mworago?!  Eottoke?  Wae?"
Ilana had been on the couch and now dropped to her knees beside him.
 - "Sarang heard me fine the first time.  Eottoke?  We fly out just before midnight on American Airlines business class."  Jihoo had to laugh at his wife's 'You're not answering my question' look.  "Wae?  Jaejoong needs nae help with a patient.  It is already arranged with the two hospitals; Na came home early to review the patient's records and called ia to schedule the flight.  If Sarang would rather stay, Na don't need to call Shinwa to have a room ready for us.  Na can sleep at the hospital."
 - "Anieyo!  Anieyo!  Na will send an email to the team and let them know I'll only be available by phone and email tomorrow."
She didn't know why the Lord was suddenly calling them to New York, but she was grateful.  Jihoo was clear about his opinion on returning to the empire state building.  Even just being back in the city, she could hope to put her disappointment with YoungSaeng behind her. If he comes back or doesn't come back, she would be at peace.  "Kansamnida Yesu!  Kansamnida nampyeon!"  Jihoo had also lifted himself to his knees and his wife flung herself at him, toppling them both over, nearly landing on top of HaEun, giving him a hard kiss, she scrambled off to go pack.
Her peace and gratefulness at this turn of events only lasted until they arrived at the airport.  That's when her anxiousness kicked in at getting on the plane and wondering exactly why the Lord was sending them to New York.  She suddenly had this feeling; peace would not come as easily as she thought.  The Lord's ways were not her own and began to feel a bit intimidated by this sudden adventure.
 - "Sarang...if Yesu called us on this trip, he'll equip us for it.  Na lasted three months without you only by holding on to his promise that you'd be back," Jihoo told her in the lounge.
 - "Hajiman He hasn't told me anything!  He called you, not me."
 - "That's because I'm your husband and the head of our household, deh?"

Jihoo gave his wife a sweet and tender kiss.  She held her tongue dutifully, but her face wasn't buying his explanation.  "Sarang would not be in this airport without na consent and without divine intervention," he said completely serious.
 - "Deh, Sarang," she said resigned.  It wasn't the first time the Lord had given Jihoo a word for them both.  It was still hard for her to overcome the desire for her own way; though she knew she could trust her husband completely.  Things went much smoother if she complied instead of argued.  If she didn't grumble and accepted her husband’s decision, God was good, and she would somehow receive a blessing of some sort.  Her mutinous thoughts were generally short-lived.  Jihoo's patient nature and love made sure of it.

Jihoo could easily function on three hours sleep.  Seeing that both his girls were well asleep, he closed his eyes with a final prayer:  to be of use both for his patient and his wife.

New York, NY

Passengers were awakened to prepare for the descent.  Jihoo was only able to sleep about two and a half hours, his wife a little longer.  "Na want you to sleep when you get to the hotel, arraso?  And don't get so caught up with work that you forget to eat."
 - "Sarang, you're not going to be able to eat anything before going to the hospital?"
 - "It's only four in the morning back home.  Na will go down to the cafeteria later."
 - "Is HaEun still asleep?"
 - "Deh, she did well.  By the time you get to the hotel, neaga sure she'll be ready for breakfast."
His wife closed her eyes, hating the descent as much as she hated the ascent.  He gave her hand a squeeze.  "Yoo is picking us up from the airport.  He'll drop me off at the hospital and then HaEun and you off at the hotel."
 - "Deh, Sarang,"
opening her eyes, she tried to give him a courageous smile.
 - "Saranghae."
 - "Ara."
 - "Sarang can visit later in the afternoon.  Na don't want you wandering around the city alone.  You can visit SungRyung Noona, Abigaíl, and that's it."
 - "Dehh, overprotective Ajussi.
"
In other words, she wasn't allowed to go to the Empire State Building, alone, anyway.  She had a feeling he'd take her himself in the evening.

Ilana was not at all sad to get off the airplane.  Jihoo wrapped his arm around her waist, knowing she was still tired and didn't want her to trip.  They picked up their luggage and HaEun's airplane seat/stroller.  Ilana's laptop was on her back, in a simple and stylish leather backpack Jihoo had gifted her after HaEun was born. Mr. Yoo, Jaejoong's driver, was already waiting for them outside.  "Annyeong hashiminika, Yoon Uissa, Contreras-ssi!"  He bowed to them, immediately jumping into action, placing the car seat in the back seat.  "Jaejoong Uissa sends his apologies for not being here personally.  He had to drop Kim Agassi (Isabel was using Kim as her last name instead of Garcia) off at school.  Garcia-ssi is due any moment with their third child."

 - "Poor Abigaíl, she might not want visitors."
Mr. Yoo smiled.  "Hwagsilhae (I’m sure) Garcia-ssi will make an exception for Contreras-ssi."
 - "Na will make sure to call before showing up,"
she looked to her husband, who nodded.
Jihoo strapped in HaEun who was still fast asleep, surprisingly, and then helped his wife into the car, before getting in himself.  Mr. Yoo climbed in after them, once their luggage was secure.

It was almost nine by the time they arrived at the hospital.  HaEun's second bottle had been consumed on the way, as she had awakened soon after leaving the airport.  "Mianhae, Sarang, Na don't know what time I will be available.  Na will call you later.  Ara Sarang will come by to visit everyone, stop by nae old office.  The yeoja will want to meet gongju."
 - "HaEun-ah, Appa wants to show you off,"
HaEun was still awake and wondering what was going on."
 - "Na want to show off both nae yeoja,"
Jihoo gave his wife a lingering kiss goodbye and a few kisses for his princess.
 - "Annyeong!  Give Jaejoong Uissa a hug for me."
 - "Deh!  Only because anae asks me too."
 - "Sarang misses him, don't pretend."
 - "Na will see you later,"
he avoided the subject and waved goodbye, waiting for the car to be out of sight.
Walking in the front door his old practice, Jihoo was greeted warmly by HyoJoo and Dr. Amy, before Jaejoong, himself greeted him in his usual exuberant manner.  "Jihoo-ah!"  Jaejoong wrapped his friend in a manly hug, pounding his back.  "Bogoshipo!  Amy Uissa ignores me."
 - “It's either that or strangle you,"
Dr. Amy joked.  "Jihoo, are you sure you can't come back and save me from this guy?"
Jihoo grinned; it really was nice to back, even for just a day or two.  "I've missed this place too," he said "It's good to see Dr. Amy has taken my job of keeping Dr. Jaejoong in check."
 - "I don't have to work too hard; I just threaten to call his wife.  That gets him immediately back in line."
They all had a good laugh, Jaejoong was still the jokester and needed a push every now and then, but everyone could tell the difference in his life since Abigaíl and the Lord walked into it"I have a patient, waiting.  It's really good to see you again," Dr. Amy gave Jihoo a quick handshake "Congratulations on your marriage and your cute baby.  Don't be a stranger."
 - "Thank you, Dr. Amy."
He bowed to her before she walked away, and then turned to Jaejoong.  "Shall we get to work?  How's Abigaíl and the kids."
 - "Aww, poor Anae.  I hate seeing her in pain.  She's been very uncomfortable the last few days, but JaeHyeon is not in any hurry to come out, just like Wookie.  That little rascal keeps Umma and Esther on their toes, you can't turn your back on him for a second."

Jaejoong's face was radiant with joy as he spoke of his family"Nae jagiya, Isabel is so smart.  Na would love to put her in a school that would better appreciate her talents, but anae says no.  She should stay with her friends."
Jihoo grinned; he supposed he wore the same look when he spoke about HaEun.  "Choah," Jihoo slapped his friend on the arm.  "Should we get to work?  I've reviewed the file and agree on the SPN (Solitary Pulmonary Nodule).  Since he's a moderate risk for cancer, I want to go in and do the Thoracotomy to make a clean removal of the nodule."
They had walked into Jaejoong's office.  Jaejoong nodded.  "I figured you would say that.  I don't doubt your abilities, but it has been a while since you've had to perform that procedure.  Are you certain?"
 - "Deh, some things are hard to forget.  Besides, with video assistance, any Doctor with any level of skill can do the procedure."
 - "Na don't want to trust my patient to just anyone.  Skill or no skill, you're the only one that has ever readily jumped into a Thoracotomy."
 - "I would like to examine the patient before we rule out any other possibility."
 - "Guerae, kaja,"
the two doctors’ left the office, toward the hospital.

En Route

After running through a list of possibilities, Mina and YoungSaeng ended up enjoying each other’s company at home in her apartment until it was time to leave for the airport. They kissed, cuddled and took a nap.  All in all, YoungSaeng could easily say this was one of the most enjoyable birthday's he'd had.  For some unknown reason, Mina had a tent in her closet.  In the late afternoon, they got ready and took the tent to Yeouido Park, where they ordered fried chicken and beer.  Being a weekday, late, and hidden in the tent, they were able to be a normal couple:  touching, kissing and feeding one another.  Unplanned, both wore shades of blue, his sweater was two-toned light blue and cream, while hers was a light blue turtleneck.  They had been on the plane for a few hours now and his girlfriend still slept.  He'd been teasing and bothering her until she was fed up and raised the partition between them.  Though they were on a commercial plane, they could still be a couple, thanks to the high cubicle walls.  With the seats lying flat, he could hold her hand or talk in a low voice without anyone noticing.  Of course, the stewards would know they were a couple, but they were there to ensure their privacy.
 - "Jagi makes me nomu haengbohkaeyo," he told her as she slept.  Sometime after they boarded he received a text from JungMin.

JungMin:  You better make a good impression on your future in-laws.
 - "That jerk,"
YoungSaeng told his phone.
 - "Orabeoni?"
 - "Just JungMin."
 - "Oh God, what now?  He's a great asset to the company but can be such an sometimes."

YoungSaeng laughed.  "Not an , jagi, a horse."
- "Mollah!  What does he say?"
 - "Na think he knows about us or is trying to confirm suspicions.  Na think they've all been suspicious since my debut.  And we weren't even together yet."
 - "Well, the fact that we crashed into each other and got stuck, without you trying to remedy the situation, could have raised some eyebrows."

Mina was still irritated over that situation, it had been extremely embarrassing for her to be so close to the guy she really liked and him not have a clue.
YoungSaeng couldn't help grinning at the memory.  "God knows, nae thoughts weren't exactly innocent, the way Mina-yang’s body was up against mine and my arm conveniently around your back...well...had na been drunk perhaps Mina's lips wouldn't have escaped mine."
Mina scoffed.  "Ha!  Remember who had to kiss who."
 - "Mina was drunk."
She laid her seat flat and he leaned over to tickle her.  There was no one next to her, ensuring their privacy.

- "Yah!  Knock it off!"  She whispered loudly.
 - "What is Mina reading anyway?"
He stole her kindle from her.  "Version Control?"  He lost her page to look for the book summary.
 - "Yah!  Give it back!  I'll tell the steward a Hallyu star is harassing me."
YoungSaeng gave her back the device with a sigh, "that's been going around a lot, lately."  He thought of HyunJoong and most recently Yonghwa and YooChun.  Melancholy quickly forgotten, he gave her his Otter's smile"Na can harass nae yeoja chingu can't I?"  Before she could put her kindle aside he squeezed her knee, hard and fast, making her squeal out loud, to her mortification.
 - "That's it!  I'm not talking to Orabeoni for the rest of the flight!  Jalja."  She raised the partition in between them, leaving him chuckling to himself.  She would make good on her threat, he knew, and so he popped in his new earphones, which were better than the ones provided and lay back, listening to music before drifting off.

YoungSaeng couldn't go back to sleep and really, he should wake up.  They were past the halfway mark and if they slept any longer, they wouldn't be able to sleep that night.  He was happy that he still had acquaintances with Holland America and could call in a favor for a hotel discount.  He found them a hotel room for $100 and only a half a mile from the empire state building.  He figured it would be around ten p.m. before they stepped foot in that building.  It would have been nice to see the sunset with his girlfriend, but there would be plenty of sunsets in California to see.  Looking over at her, he decided she needed to wake up as well.  "Jagi...jagi...it's time to wake up."  He nudged her a few times until she woke up.
Mina groaned.  "What time is it?"
 - "We're halfway there.  If Jagi doesn't wake up she won't sleep tonight and then we will still have to adjust to California time."

She groaned again and rolled over, giving him her back "Now who doesn't want to wake up?  Na have a bottle of water, should Na pour it over Jagi's head?"
 - "Do it and I go to California by myself,"
resigned she sat her seat up.  "What time is it anyway, Orabeoni didn’t answer me?”
 - "About 2:30 A.M. back home."

Mina glared at him"It could be worse.  Most of the time in Japan, we were just getting to bed at this time."
 - "That doesn't make it any better."
 - "Begopayo?  Should na order food?"
 - "It's the middle of the night,"
she stretched and yawned.  "Let me go brush my teeth and Orabeoni can take me to the duty-free store."
 - "Arraso."

A little while later, they had poked their head into the duty-free store, Mina didn't see anything of interest.  Things would be cheaper in L.A., so they did the next best thing, which was sittting in the lounge.  The staff member was nice enough to take a picture of them.  There was no one around and here they could be themselves.  Mina laid her head on his shoulder and laced her fingers through his.  "Jagi, don't fall asleep," he said giving a kiss to her head.
 - "I won't, Orabeoni will leave me here if I do."
He laughed, "Anieyo.  Mina-yang will beat me up when she wakes up."
 - "Majayo!"
 - "Choah holding you like this.  Gomawo."

Mina lifted her head, "waeyo?"
 - "For supporting me in everything; even this scheme."
 - "Orabeoni paid for the extra fare, wae anieyo?"
 - "Naega looking forward to meeting Mina's parents again.  Does jagi think they'll mind?"
 - "Orabeoni didn't notice, they were practically throwing me at you when they were here?"
 - "Na was too busy keeping nae chingu from throwing me at you."

They both had a good laugh.  "Jagiya...Does Mina-yang mind?"
 - "Mwo?"
 - "We can't be ourselves; we have to hide our relationship from the public."

Mina smiled at him, touching his cheek"Na confess Na miss your pre-debut days and we could talk and drink in the pop-up or at a restaurant for hours.  Hajiman staying in..." she inched her lips close to his.  "...isn't so bad either."
YoungSaeng felt the warmth of her breath on his lips and when he inched his own face forward, she backed off with a grin.   "Aish...this yeoja."
 - "Mwo?"
  She laughed.
 - "Just wait until we get to New York," he whispered in her ear, raising goose bumps under her sweater.
 - "Na will not be an easy catch."
 - "Mina-yang has already been caught,"
he pinched her makeup-free cheek.
 - "So has Orabeoni," she pinched him back "Where are we?"
 - "We're passing over Alaska, the sun is just about rising if you look out the window,"
the lounge staff member said.
 - "Really?"  Mina was immediately running to a window.  "Orabeoni look!  Isn't it beautiful?"
He hugged her from behind"Deh, so is nae Mina yang."
Mina sunk back into him, "this is worth changing our Plans for.  Umma and Appa aren't going anywhere.  Disneyland isn't going anywhere..." she turned in his arms to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck.  "Orabeoni isn't going anywhere."
YoungSaeng gave her lips a peck, "not even if Jagi paid me to.  Na have earned this vacation."
Mina snuggled against his chest, the sunrise behind her lay forgotten.  "Orabeoni drives me crazy.  Did you know?"  A chuckle was his response.  "I have never acted this way.  When Orabeoni is around, na can't wait to feel his lips on mine and if you take too long, Na just take them for myself."  Feeling his laughter under her, she lifted her head.  "Yah, Orabeoni is making fun of my dilemma."
 - "Na don't find it a dilemma at all and haenbohkae to give into all of Jagi's demands,"
with a quick look to make sure no one else was around, he pressed her lips firmly, nipping and demanding entry.  Alaska, the plane, and his idol status were forgotten for the moment until they heard a throat clearing behind them.
 - "Sir, Miss, someone's coming," the staff member said.
The two sprang apart, red-faced and giggling and seated themselves properly in the lounge.  Whoever was coming, didn't stay, which was fine by the two love birds.
YoungSaeng had his back wedged in the corner of the sitting area and Mina was wedged in between him and back of the seat, just as if they were home.  He brought his arms to lock around her, "wae does it feel like na have known and loved you for so long and yet it's only been six months."
 - "Orabeoni, it's been much longer for me, deh?  GaEul Unnie would say we're soulmates."
 - "Who's that?"
He might have shared a plane with the F4 and their families, but he had been in his own world during that flight.
 - "She's married to one of Jihoo Uissa's chingu."
 - "Ah, do you know his chingu?  Do you spend time with them?"
Not that he was upset, just curious what her surroundings were when he wasn't around.
 - "Deh, on occasion, not as much as Emily and YiHyun.  GaEul and JanDi are very nice, mollah Ha JaeKyung that well, but she seems very friendly and outgoing."
 - "Jagi is almost a chaebol in her own right, deh?"
This thought suddenly made him nervous.
 - "Anieyo...Appa is a well-respected and very well-paid attorney.  He doesn't want to be a judge, though he's been nominated.  He was fortunate to be the friend of Ilana's Father and share in the dream of this global corporation and able to invest in it.  That investment, of course, has multiplied and he's made other intelligent investments that have multiplied as well.  Okasan has a very nice salary as a professor and department head at a private university.  Na happened to be single and in the right place at the right time to become a V.P. of ILC Seoul, with a very good salary and naega marrying a prince!"  Mina realized she said the word 'marrying' instead of 'dating'.  She could feel her face turning red.  "Omo!  Jankanmanyo!"  She tried to get up and he kept his arms locked around her.
 - "Mworago?!"
 - "Amugeotdo (Nothing/nevermind)!  I want to get up!"
 - "Anieyo..."
He stopped smiling and became serious; she was avoiding his face, still trying to get away.  "What did Rodriguez, Mina-ssi, just say?"
 - "Amugeotdo."
Mina could be quite stubborn if she put her mind to it.
YoungSaeng continued his dramatics.  "Is Mina-ssi seeing someone behind Orabeoni's back?"
 - "Mwo?!"
The second she looked at his angry-looking face, she went from embarrassed to worried.  "Orabeoni!  How could you think that?"
 - "Wae anieyo?  Mina-ssi just said she'd marry a prince?"
He bit his lip, or he was going to start laughing any second.
 - "Orabeoni pabo!"  She smacked his head.
 - "Yah!"  He grabbed her now balled hand.
 - "You're my prince," she was offended that he would even think she was toying with him and hurt as well.  She tried to take deep breaths before crying as a result of it all.
As soon as she turned her head to try to get away, YoungSaeng laughed out loud, not being able to stop.  He held her tight, so she couldn't move or try to hit him.  "Ah, Mina should see her face."
 - "Yah, were you making fun of me?"
 - "Anieyo, na wanted to hear nae angel call me a prince."
 - "A conceited, arrogant, egotistical prince."
 - "Deh and naega all yours."
 - "Not anymore, Mister."

YoungSaeng couldn't help but laugh.  Mina had stopped fighting him, but he continued to hold her tight.  "Jagi, saranghae.  Chincha, Na can vaguely remember how you entered nae life and yet na can't imagine not having you in it.  Even if it was just a phone call or text, nae heart speeds up in anticipation of your voice, your laugh and what it is we'll talk about.”
 - "For me, ara exactly when you walked into nae life.  Na really wanted to meet the namja with an angelic voice and Orabeoni exceeded all nae expectations.  All nae could do is hope that Orabeoni would notice me.  Mollah if time has passed fast or slow, na Just lived for each phone call or text and when I'd get to see Orabeoni again."
 - "Jagi...ara it's too soon, even if na feel as if we've always been at each other's side.  Na want to promise jagi this:  When it's time and ara we'll both know when that time comes.  Na will propose deh?  Na made nae angel say 'choah' first.   That wasn't nice of Orabeoni, mianhae."

Mina hadn't turned to look at him.  If she did, she’d want to smother him with kisses.  As it was, she was trying not to cry.  "Such a namja" she thought.  One minute he made her cry angry tears; the next, happy tears.  Taking a deep breath, she dabbed at her eyes, hoping he wouldn't notice.  "Greomyo," she turned to him with a sweet smile and slightly emotional voice.  "Na won't let you off the hook next time.  Kaja, buy me a drink," she stood, pulling him by the hand.
 - "They're included in business class," the staff member told them.
 - "Jagi, it's like four in the morning back home."
Mina giggled, remembering an old song she'd heard once.  "It's five o'clock somewhere."  The staff member laughed, obviously understanding her statement, while YoungSaeng looked at her with a question mark on his face.  "I think you'd better get the woman an Absolute Heaven," he told the staff member.  "Perhaps the alcohol will help her to make sense."
 - "That sounds dangerous..."
 Mina looked a little worried.
 - "Jagi wanted me to buy her a drink. Her worried face was so cute, he pinched her cheek.  "Gwenchana, na won't let you fall."

After a nap and quick shower, Ilana and HaEun checked in with the office.  Ordering a pancake breakfast for herself and pumpkin porridge for HaEun (Ilana would finish HaEun's leftovers later).  The good thing about a five-star hotel and the fact that you are best friends with the owner is:  they must bend over backward for you.  They didn't even bat an eyelash when Ilana asked for pumpkin porridge.  The morning was gone in New York, but in L.A. the work day was just beginning.  While plowing through emails, research reports, a few phone calls and keeping HaEun on her California schedule, the afternoon passed quickly.  Jihoo was in surgery for several hours and told her not to leave the hotel on her own.  Jaejoong had made Mr. Yoo, his driver at her disposal.  Though she wanted to visit SungRyung and some of the others at the hospital, she wasn't excited about the temperature outside.  She'd only felt a blast of the cold air in the morning and that was enough.  Twenty degrees cooler than California, she and HaEun had to layer up.  "HaEun-ah must take after Appa, you're sweating already.  Gwenchana, Mr. Yoo will be here any minute."  The hotel lobby was deliciously warm as they waited for Mr. Yoo.  First stop would be the Hospital and then spend some time with Abigaíl and the kids.  Abigaíl had already given her orders that she and Jihoo would be expected for dinner.

In Jaejoong's office, the nurses and assistants all fawned over HaEun.  "She looks just like Dr. Jihoo," Dr. Amy said.
 - "Oh, but she looks like Ilana too," HyeJoo said.
 - "Beba...say thank you," Ilana told a sleepy HaEun.  It was almost nap time back home.  HaEun just curled up closer to Umma, not really feeling up to being social.  "It's almost time for her nap and she slept on top of Appa on the plane, so I'm sure she's tired.  She's a little shy too, deh Beba?”
 - "That’s perfectly acceptable, HaEun, your daddy doesn't say much either,"
Dr. Amy her silky hair.
 - "I bet Appa is just crazy over her," HyeJoo could picture Dr. Jihoo being head over heels in love with his daughter.
 - "Is that true, Beba?  Is Appa crazy over you?"  HaEun rejected all Umma's attempts to engage her in conversation.  "I'm sorry, she's not talking.  She normally babbles up all kinds of conversations; especially with Appa."
 - "That's okay, sweetie.
Dr. Amy said.  "Another time, okay?"
 - "Say okay, Beba,"
Ilana laughed at the silent HaEun.  "We'll have to go if I want to say hello to SungRyung before she leaves or HaEun has a meltdown from lack of sleep."
 - "Yes, please do go.  Don't keep this sweetie waiting,"
Dr. Amy smiled.  "It was so great seeing you again.  We're glad you and Jihoo are doing great and it was nice meeting you too, HaEun."
 - "She's adorable,"
HyeJoo gushed.  "Keep her away from JaeWook; he might be a lady-killer, like his dad."
 - "Oh no!!"
Ilana laughed.  "We'll be visiting with them, later; thankfully she'll be napping."
 - "JaeWook is a cutie, but a curious one,"
Dr. Amy said "Come visit us again and send us pictures.  We have to wait for Abigaíl to share."
 - "I will!"
Ilana and HaEun waved goodbye and decided to make a run for it across the corridor to the hospital.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't be able to see everyone on the critical care floor, but SungRyung & ShiYoon met them in the lobby "Ilana dear!"  SungRyung stepped out of the elevator and walked hurriedly toward Ilana.
 - "Unnie!"  With HaEun in her sling, all they managed was a sideways hug.
 - "Aww, what an angel!"
 - "Most of the time; though Appa is the only one that can soothe the Princess's ruffled feathers."
 - "I wouldn't expect less."
 - "Where is ShiYoon?  I thought Unnie was going to call him."
 - "I did...oh there he is!"
 - "Were you ladies waiting for me?  I was working on the top floor.
"

Ilana was impressed, he had a distinguished more mature look about him.  His hair was shorter, with his bangs swept back; he was wearing a black and white hound’s-tooth patterned suit with a crisp white dress shirt and charcoal grey skinny tie.  He was dashing and had he not been married, he'd have half the hospital’s female population after him"Wau!!  ¿Quién es este hombre tan guapo (Who is this very handsome man)?"
 - "Aigo...,"
the boyish ShiYoon re-emerged and he ducked his head in embarrassment.
 - "Our ShiYoon has matured handsomely in his new IT position."
 - "Noooonna..."

Both Ilana and SungRyung laughed.  "There's the ShiYoon na left behind.  I thought we had lost him somewhere," Ilana said.
 - "Ajumma, mannaseo bangawo!  And this is HaEun-ah?  Aww...Na think she looks like Umma.  I'm sure she's just as sweet, too."
 - "I was telling Unnie that when she's in a mood, only nampyon can soothe her."
 - "Como su Mama, verdad (Like her Mother, right)?"

Ilana ignored his comment, even if it was true.  "How's DokMi?  Will you two start a family soon?"
 - "Soon, na just started my IT position about a year ago, so we've been talking about it,"
Shi Yoon looked away embarrassed, again.  "Yah, Na have to run, I'm meeting my Sunbae.  You caught me just in time.  We'll see each other again sometime, deh?"
 - "Deh!  Tell DokMi, I said Annyeong and give her a hug for me.  If you're ever in Los Angeles, please visit."
 - "Gomawo, anae would like that.  ¡Adiós (Goodbye)!”
He bowed; underneath the mature exterior was still the same playful kid.
 - "Annyeong hee gaseyo (Goodbye when you are staying)!"  Ilana turned back to SungRyung.  "He's so different!"
 - "So are you,"
SungRyung took her hand, giving it a caring pat.  "When I think of all of you, I praise God.  I shouldn't have favorites, but all of you are my favorites.  Did you see YuJin's dramas?"
 - "I did!  She's been so busy; I only saw her briefly at an event that her manager had.  Fool's love was hard for me to watch, but her character was inspiring for young women that have been violated and also her male lead for loving her despite everything.  Jihoo was always ready with his handkerchief as I watched.  And her latest, just made me cry buckets.  Jihoo said I was on my own with that one.  It stressed him out to see me cry."
 - "Gosh, you two are a blessing.  The way he opened to you and you to him, was nothing short of a miracle."

Ilana laughed, "I'll have to agree with that, Unnie and she's my biggest miracle," Ilana rubbed her cheek on HaEun's head.  She'd fallen asleep.  "I never would've dreamed I'd have a baby one day."
 - "When we are faithful to him, God gives us even the deepest desires of our heart."
 - "Mmm.  How are your son and daughter in law?"

The time went by quickly and the two women had been chatting for a good thirty minutes.  It was now past five, long after SungRyung should have gone back to her office.  Ilana's phone rang, intruding on her conversation.  "Oh!  It's Jihoo!"  She told SungRyung before answering"Sarang!  Gwenchana?"
 - "Deh, where are you two?  I rang the hotel, but they told me you had left a while ago."
 - "Deh, we're here at the hospital.  HaEun's napping and SungRyung Unnie and I have been chatting in the lobby."

SungRyung looked at her watch.  "Ilana, we've been talking for about thirty minutes,” she laughed behind her hand.
 - "Oops!  Sarang, HaEun and I have made Unnie lose track of time."
Jihoo laughed out loud, surprising people who remembered the reserved Doctor from before.  "Now she knows how I feel.  Tell her not to leave; Jaejoong and I are in the elevator heading down."
 - "Deh!"
Ilana ended the call.  "Nampyon says you're not allowed to leave, he and Jaejoong are on their way down."
 - "I'll stay only for Jihoo; I see Jaejoong almost every day."
 - "Unnie would be bored without him driving you crazy."

 - "True, at least I don't have to worry about him anymore.  The Lord and his wife keep him honest."
 - "Cheoje (wife's younger sister)!!"
Jaejoong shouted quite loudly as soon as he spotted Ilana talking with SungRyung.
 - "Quiet hospitals must be overrated,"
Ilana joked "Hyeongbu, mannaseo bangawoyo," Ilana stood and inclined her head, while keeping a firm hold on HaEun so she wasn't awakened by the movement.  To Jihoo, she kissed on the cheek.  "Gwenchana?  The procedure went well?  Every Time I thought about you, I prayed that the Lord would work through your hands."
 - "Gomawo, Sarang.  Noona, eottoke Jinaeseyo?"
 - "Choahyo!  And more so now that I've seen you two again and your sweet little blessing.  All my charges are doing well.  I'm blessed to have been a part of all your lives.  I'm looking forward to what more the Lord does in your lives and grateful that he allowed me to have a small part of it."

SungRyung couldn't help being overcome with happy tears
 - "Noona!"  Jaejoong said, exasperated.
 - "Oh, just leave me be, I'll be fine in a minute."
 - "Gwenchana Unnie,"
Ilana gave her old boss another side hug.  "Ara how you feel, I'm grateful that you overlooked my shortcomings and hired me to work with you."
 - "Noona will say it was the Lord who told her to hire you,"
Jihoo smiled at the woman who was sometimes mentor, sister, and Mother to him.
 - "That's right!  And don't you forget and not that I think you will...what God has joined together, let no man separate."
 - "Deh Noona!"
Jihoo and Jaejoong both looked at each other, knowing that whatever trials might come their way, nothing can tear them apart from their wives.

There were few Doctors that Jihoo really enjoyed camaraderie with during his term at NYP.  Mainly it was the team from critical care.  When your common goal each day for several years is to fight death, you can't help but develop a bond with those people.  After a brief greeting with Dr. Patrick and Dr. Nicholas, Jaejoong piled Jihoo, Ilana and HaEun into his Dodge Journey.  Mr. Yoo had already switched HaEun's seat into the other car.

Arriving at the Kim residence, HaEun was still napping and though, it was longer than her usual naps, Umma just let her be.  After all, her schedule was completely turned around and it turned out she wouldn’t be asleep much longer.  “Tía!!  Ajussi!!"  An excited Isabel shouted when she saw them and flew down the stairs, wrapping her petite arms around Jihoo, then Ilana.
The echo from the foyer’s high ceilings magnified Isabel’s squeal at least five times.  HaEun usually slept through anything, but not that.  “Oh, Beba!”  HaEun’s cry began to crescendo.  Ilana had untangled herself from Isabel and bent to remove the blanket that covered the portable seat.  Lifting their crying daughter out of her chair, Ya, ya, I'm here, Beba and Appa too.  ¿Ves Appa (Do you see Appa)?”  Ilana swayed with her in her arms and turned HaEun to where she could see Appa.
 - "I'm sorry, Tia, did I scare her?"
 - "Pba-pa!  pba-pa!  pba-pa!!!"
HaEun complained bitterly.  She was woken by loud yelling and somewhere she didn't recognize, and she hadn't been in her home all day.  It wasn't a good day.
 - "Gwenchana, gongju.  Eeliwah?"  Jihoo stretched his arms out and HaEun was ready to jump into them.  He soothed her with his usual Korean noises that he had to have picked up from Harabeoji.

Jaejoong was grinning from ear to ear.  "Wau...na would have said I'd never see Jihoo hold his own baby."
 - "Yah, same goes for you too."
HaEun's cries had become breathy as she turned her head to see what was going on.
 - "HaEun-ah, this is your cousin Isabel and Tío Jaejoong."
Jaejoong laughed out loud at the title, scaring HaEun once again "Mianhae, mianhae...I see Appa and Umma don't make that much noise at home.  Here, it's unavoidable between Isabel and Wookie."  Jaejoong began being silly for HaEun.  Isabel was laughing, while HaEun wasn't sure what to make of him.
 - "Tía, can I hold her, please?!"  Isabel was bouncing on her heels.
 - "Well...you can't be rough like with your dongsaeng, she doesn't like it and will start to cry."
 - "I won't!  Ask Isabelle, I'm a good Umma!"
She still played with her American Girl doll that Jaejoong and Jihoo had given her three years ago.
 - "HaEun-ah, your cousin wants to hold you," Jihoo played with her a little, making it seem like a game and the prize was Isabel.
 - “Hi, baby!"  Isabel smiled brightly for HaEun"You're so pretty!   I like your outfit."
 - "Let's get out of the foyer and sit,"
Jaejoong hurried them along.  Surprisingly, Esther had not come out to take their things.
They were met halfway by Mrs. Oh.  "Kids!  Mianhae, I didn't greet you properly."  After giving Jihoo and Ilana well and proper hugs, she turned her surprised gaze to HaEun, still in Isabel's arms.  "I thought I heard a baby!  Jihoo-yah!  She's precious!!  Isabel-ah, give her to Halmoni."  She knew Isabel's pouty face.  "I'll give her right back.  Let me hold her for a second.  Oh!  I bet Appa spoils you rotten, doesn't he?"  Mrs. Oh had the knack for babies as most Grandmothers’ did.  She had HaEun smiling immediately, with her slow speech and exaggerated facial expressions.
 - "Watch it you, two," Jaejoong said.  "Umma might try to keep her."
 - "At least I have Isabel, since you two, won't give me another granddaughter,"
Mrs. Oh gave her son a look of mock disgust.
 - "Um-ma!  Like it's my fault!"
 - "Well, as a matter of fact...
"
Jihoo began.
 - "Yah!"  Jaejoong hooked his arm around his old friend and dragged him the rest of the way to the sitting room, where Mr. Kim and JaeWook were sitting, trying to look innocent.
 - "Annyeong hasseyo!"  Mr. Kim greeted Jihoo and then Ilana, who was still laughing with Mrs. Oh.
 - "Annyeong hasseyo Abeojim!"  Jihoo greeted formally.
 - "Good to see you, my boy."  He slapped Jihoo on the back.  "Your anae has gotten prettier since we've seen her last.  Marriage and motherhood has made her bloom like a lovely flower."
 - "Abeojim!"

Ilana scolded him, embarrassed at the compliment.
 - "I wholeheartedly agree," Mrs. Oh said.  "Don't you, Jihoo?"
 - "Greomyo!"
 - "Hajimaseyo!!  Is this JaeWook?  Annyeong hasseyo."

Ilana bowed to the almost 18-month old.
 - "Go on," his grandfather prodded.  "Show your manners."  JaeWook only complied with the help of his Grandfather.  "Say annyeong hashiminika"
 - "Ann...shika,"
was what he said.
 - "Aww!!  Last I saw you; you were just over 100 days old.  Look at you, you're so big.  He's going to protect Noona for sure."
 - "Don't let his mock shyness fool you, he's a scoundrel; this one,"
Mr. Oh plucked a stray grain of rice from the back of his shirt.
At that time Esther, their housekeeper, appeared"Mianhaeyo, Uissa, Ilana-ssi.  Na have put away your belongings in the closet as well as your daughter's carrier."  She continued hurriedly.  "Dinner will be ready in another thirty minutes, forgive me.  We had a minor incident in the kitchen."
 - "Gwenchana?"
Jaejoong asked.
 - "If you'll excuse JaeWook and me, we're going for a walk before dinner," Mr. Kim tried his best to save his Grandson from the smack on the bottom that was sure to come.
 - "Abeoji..." Jaejoong addressed his Father but looked straight at his son.  "Would the minor incident be adul?"
 - "Gwenchana, Esther and I cleaned it up.  Ilana, sweetheart, we have rice cake in the kitchen to tie you over if you're hungry."
 - "Anieyo Eommoni!!  Gwenchana!"

Ilana tried not to laugh as Wookie hid behind Harabeoji.  He knew his Dad's voice when angry.
 - "Adul is fortunate we have guests...you're free to go with Harabeoji, but next time..."Jaejoong clapped his hands in front of the little boy's face.  JaeWook giggled at his Appa's silliness.  "Aish..."  Jaejoong ruffled the boy's hair.  "What are Umma and I going to do with you?"  That was the cue for Grandfather and Grandson to make themselves scarce.  "Actually, what is his Umma going to do with him?  He gives me that cute little grin and eottoke?"
 - "If adul is just like his Abeoji, the romance will be lost somewhere around age four, when JaeWook gets into your watch collection and throws them in the toilet."
 - "Umma?!  Are you insinuating that I did that?"
 - "Ahhh!! Appa was naughty...lero lero lero..."

Isabel taunted her Father.
 - "Yah, disrespecting Appa?"  Isabel screamed and took off running.  "Jamshimanyo," Jaejoong took off after her.

All that was heard was more squeals and a "hajimaseyo Appa!!" from Isabel.
Then..."Jae!  Isabel!  Knock it off!"
 - "Abigaíl!!"  While everyone was still laughing the hilarious Father-daughter duo, Abigaíl had finally emerged from her room, slowly making her way downstairs.  HaEun was still comfortable with Halmoni Oh, so Ilana quickly made her way out of the sitting room to greet her friend.  "Chica!!"
 - "Hey you!"
Abigaíl slowly made her way down the stairs, considering she couldn't really see the stairs beneath her.
 - "It's so good to see you!"  The two women embraced tightly not hampered by Abigaíl's protruding baby belly.  "Hi JaeHyeon, when are you coming out?"  Ilana rubbed the hard ball of baby.
 - "Ugh!  Make him come out, now!  He's my third, he's not supposed to be late,"
Abigaíl moaned, making Ilana hug her again.  "JaeHyeon-ah, come out for Umma.  If you come out today, I can meet you."
 - "Then we won't get to catch up?"

Abigaíl worried.
 - "We can catch up while you're in labor, it'll keep your mind off the pain."
 - "Chistosa (funny girl)!  I'm sorry; I took so long to come down.  I couldn't go for a swim, so I just soaked in lukewarm Jacuzzi for a little while and then I had to wash the chlorine off.  I feel better.  He must know he'll be delivered in water."
Abigaíl paused and looked around.  "Where are Dr. Jihoo and HaEun?"
 - "They're in the sitting room with your in-laws,"
the two began walking.  "The kids are precious."
 - "JaeWook is a precious terror.  Didn't you see more gray hair on Esther?"

Jaejoong met up with them in the hall, having a silently giggling Isabel slung over his shoulder"She's just old, it's not JaeWook's fault."
 - "Jae!  I'll remind you when you're old with gray hair about what you just said.  Now, put Isabel down."

Jaejoong kissed his wife's cheek.  "Anae isn't wearing her glasses.  This is that squirrel that's been hanging around.  Don't you hear it squeaking?"  Isabel's giggles did sound like squeaks.
 - "Jaejoong is an expert Appa already."
Once inside the sitting room, Jaejoong finally put Isabel down.  Jihoo stood and bowed to Abigaíl "Abi-ssi looks well."
 - "Dr. Jihoo, I look round,"
Abigaíl frowned as she gave Jihoo a hug.
 - "Abi-ssi can call me Jihoo, seobangnim, or deongsaeo (Both words mean brother in law seobangnim is your husband's married younger brother, deongsaeo is your younger sister's husband), whichever she prefers."
Abigaíl nodded slowly; languages were not really her forte.  "I'll just go with Jihoo.  I called you Doctor for so long, it's a natural reflex."
 - "Yeah, it's a miracle she calls me Jae, now,"
Jaejoong wrapped a loving arm around his wife and she leaned her head into his arm."

 - "How did it go at the hospital?  Jihoo, you were able to help?"
 - "Deh, we'll do some more tests in the morning, but I'm confident in leaving him in the hands of another Doctor after I leave."
 - "When will you leave?"
Abigaíl was sad, she'd have to say goodbye to her friend after only a few hours.
 - "Mianhae, we didn't plan to be here more than a day.  Anae is doing her work and filling in for one of her staff that’s on vacation.  Na have finished the budget and now working on the events for this year's Gala.  Anae and I won't be leaving for Seoul until mid-December."
 - "Jihoo-yah, rest assured, Nampyon will send our contribution as usual."
 - "Anae and I will contribute this year in the name of the kids,"
Jaejoong smiled tenderly at his wife.
 - "Appa, I want to go to Ajussi's gala."
Jaejoong smiled indulgently, "perhaps in a few years.  Appa will buy you a dress fit for a princess."  He knew Abigaíl was giving him a 'we'll talk about it then' look, which he ignored"Jagi will have to help me pick out a dress for Umma too."
 - "Deh Appa!"  Abigaíl air, through her closed teeth as a contraction hit.  "Mama?"  Isabel hated the pain her Mother was in when JaeWook was born.  It was no different this time around; it terrified her to death.
Letting out her breath, Abigaíl smiled at her daughter.  "It's okay baby girl, JaeHyeon is getting himself ready to come out."  She let out a sigh.  "I just wish he would already.  Chica, if I go into labor tonight, you aren't leaving until he's born."
 - "Of course not!"
Ilana might have spoken too soon, but she looked to her husband for confirmation.
 - "If JaeHyeon decides to make his journey sometime before we leave, I promise we'll stay one more day," Jihoo assured.
 - "Eommoni, let me hold this muñecita (dolly).  It'll keep my mind off the contractions."  Mrs. Oh had sat HaEun on the floor with some of JaeWook's blocks.
 - "Hola muñequita, como estas (Hello sweetie, ¿how are you)?"  HaEun had been scooped up from the floor, still with a block still in her hand.  "¿Te gusta (You like it)?"  Abigaíl pointed to the block in her hand.  "Say Tía..."
HaEun seemed to like this aunty, she was sweet"Nnna!"  She responded with a smile.
 - "T...I...a..." Abigaíl exaggerated for her.

- "Nna!"
 - "Está bien, está bien (okay, okay).  Di (say)'Ma-ma'."

Grownups’ talking was HaEun's fascination, their silly faces always made her laugh.  Her little hands patted Abigaíl's face and squealed "Mmnna!"
 - "Oooh, she was close,"
Mrs. Oh sat forward in her seat.
 - "She said it once," Jihoo said.  "I haven't been able to get a repeat performance."
 - "HaEun, en donde esta Mama (where is Mama)?"

Abigaíl turned her around to see her Umma.  "Is that Mama?"  Abigaíl pointed to Ilana.
 - "Mi amor, vente (My love, come)?"
Babies can offer hours of entertainment for adults reverting to their own infancy.  While Ilana played a game of hi-five with HaEun and Abigaíl, running was heard down the hall and Mr. Oh's voice as well.
 - "Wookie-Yah, Umma has said not to run in the hall!"
Jaejoong jumped up before his wife asked him to do so, with a dark gaze.  "I'll get him; he's a fast little rascal when he wants to be."
 - "I swear he ran before he walked,"
Abigaíl complained.
 - "Just like Jae," Mrs. Oh remember fondly.
 - "Eommoni!  I'm sure it wasn't cute when nampyon was being a terror at this age."
Mrs. Oh laughed.  "Abi-dear, he's still a terror.  Well, at least he was until you saved him from himself."
 - "I concur Eommoni,"
Jihoo joked along.
 - "Sarang...don't be mean to Jaejoong."
 - "Some habits are hard to break,"
he tweaked her nose in teasing.
 - "Maja, Ilana dear, if it weren't for Jihoo keeping him somewhat out of trouble and his love for Abigaíl that finally got him walking in a straight line, I don't know what would have come of him?"
Ilana smiled up at her husband.  Her eyes saying, 'just like me'"
Esther appeared.  "Dinner is ready, again, my apologies for being late."
 - "It's not your fault, Esther,"
Mrs. Oh assured her.
 - "If it was my son's fault..." Abigaíl began.
 - "Never mind, here, I'll help you up.  But, Esther, where is adul and nampyon?"
 - "They went to wash young master's hands and are seated at the table already.  Contreras-ssi, Dr. Jaejoong brought out an extra high chair for the Yoon agassi to use."
 - "Oh yay!  Something that's not pink!"

Ilana high-fived her daughter, making everyone laugh.  It's not that she didn't like pink, it's just they were swimming in it.
 - "Yeah, of all the state of the art High Chairs we've tried, this $40 one from Ikea is the one he can't escape from.  So HaEun-ah is more than welcome to use one."
 - "I can assure you, HaEun's not an escape artist like her Wookie Oppa is."

Esther made a delicious samgyetang along with a table full of sides.  The meal was perfect for the crisp air outside.  HaEun had gotten over her initial shyness and was beginning to enjoy the attention.  It was like dueling pianos but dueling babies instead.  Both JaeWook and HaEun wanted the attention of their prospective audience.  JaeWook made a general fuss, getting food everywhere.  While HaEun just oozed sweetness.  Both babies were adorable in their own way.  "Más, Beba? Ilana gave HaEun a spoonful of the rich broth and rice.  She cooed happily, enjoying the treat, making JaeWook mimic her and received the proper appreciative laughter from his audience.  "Yah!  Wookie-ah, you're going to be a charmer, aren't you?"
 - "Wookie, besos?"
Isabel blew her little brother a kiss and he too smacked his hand to his lips.  "Blow a kiss to HaEun-ah, like this.  Mwah!"
 - "Ma!"

JaeWook followed his sister's lead perfectly.
 - "Wookie-Yah cute!!Ilana was enamored by the mini version of Jaejoong.  "Hyeongbu, where you this cute as a baby?"
 - "Ilana-yah, na thought he was so the perfect baby and such a healthy appetite, too.  His cheeks were so cute and round."
 - "Eum-ma!"

Jaejoong protested.
 - "Wookie looks a lot like adul, minus the plump cheeks."
 - "HaEun looks just like Jihoo,"
Abigaíl tried to save her husband from further teasing.
 - "Jihoo had darker hair at one time," Jaejoong jumped in, glad that the topic had moved from him to HaEun."
 - "Deh, I've seen pictures and HaEun really looks like him," Ilana said.
 - "Nnnah? HaEun asked a question and then smiled happily.
 - "Te pareces a tu Papa, verdad (You look your daddy, don't you),” Abigaíl said.
 - "HaEun-ah, who's Appa's gongju?"  Ilana asked.
 - "Papapapapa!"  She babbled excitedly.
 - "Appa!"  JaeWook suddenly wondered why everyone was laughing.
 - "Adul gets jealous just like Appa when Umma is not paying attention to him."  Jaejoong ruffled his son's hair affectionately.

The babies kept them entertained during dinner and after were both placed on the floor with toys.  The men gathered in the billiards room for a game and to talk shop while enjoying after-dinner drinks.  The ladies drank plum tea while watching the kids play.  HaEun kept getting frustrated that she couldn't walk like JaeWook and though she tried to crawl, she only managed to scoot her way around or fall face forward.  Isabel sat with them and played referee, administering hugs and kisses to any wounded party.  HaEun either unknowingly took a toy JaeWook Oppa was playing with or JaeWook bulldozed over her in the quest for the toy his Noona had hidden behind her back.  Abigaíl and Ilana laughed at their adorable kids; Abigaíl having momentarily forgotten about her contractions.  "Who would have thought I would remarry and you and I would have babies almost together," Abigaíl said.
 - "Not me!  Marriage and kids were completely out of my life plan."
 - "That goes to show you ladies, how merciful our God is.  'But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners',"
Mrs. Oh quoted.
 - "Deh Eommoni, of which I was the chief of sinners."
 - "Was, chica.  You've been redeemed; your debt has been paid."
 - "I still can't imagine that weight I carried for seventeen years."
 - "Chica, the only weight you carried was an unseen parasite that didn't let you gain any weight or be happy or love, for that matter."
 - "Ay, chica!"

Ilana laughed at her friend's analogy.  Ilana saw her baby rubbing her eyes against the blanket, fighting sleep.  "Someone's nap is overdue.  She usually catnaps before dinner and she had quite a bit of the broth with rice.  The rice is probably expanding in her tummy."  Scooping a reluctant HaEun off the floor, Ilana propped her against her shoulder, covering her with the blanket.  HaEun wiggled and fussed, she wanted to play.  Crying, she wasn't ready for a nap, despite all her signs.  "HaEun wants to play with JaeWook O-ppa."
 - "Ah-ah."

JaeWook carried on, not paying attention to this new dongsaeng.  Babies came over to the house all the time since Abigaíl led short bible study once a week for single Mom's.  "What if Wookie pretends to sleep," Isabel suggested.
 - "Ah, he's a good one for pretending," Mrs. Oh said.
Isabel laid herself on the ground.  "Wookie, ja?"  Isabel closed her eyes, letting out a pretend snore.  JaeWook knew Noona wasn't sleeping.  She opened her eyes and gave the 'ssh' sign to her little brother.  That was his cue and curled up next to her and 'snored'.

 - "HaEun-ah, jalja," Ilana placed her in between Isabel and JaeWook, whom she pawed at for a little as if check if he really was asleep.
 - "Yeoja, let's leave Isabel to do her job," Mrs. Oh said.  "Let's go have more tea and cake in the kitchen.  The namja will miss out."
Ilana hesitated, but Abigaíl took her by the hand, "come on, chica."

In the billiards room; the men jumped from business to family life.  "You boys make me proud," Mr. Oh, said.  He had a few drinks on him and was now getting sentimental.  "Adul is a successful Doctor at one of the best hospitals in the country.  He had me worried that that was all he'd have to his name, hajiman Yesu opened his eyes and he was rewarded with a wife who's yippeun on the outside as well as the inside.  Adul has given us two Grandchildren and one more to be born soon.  Yesu has been good to your Umma and me."
 - "Abeoji!"
Jaejoong laughed"You're talking like a Harabeoji."
 - "That's because he is one,"
Jihoo said, logically.
 - "Jihoo has been a good chingu to Na sometimes pabo adul.  Gomawo.  Naega happy to see Yesu has also blessed you with your sweet wife and dtal."
 - "Kansamnida, Abeoji."
 - "Abeoji!  Umma is going to kill me for letting you drink."
 - "Aigoo!!  Can't a namja count his blessing without adul thinking he's drunk?  Jeongmal, since when does a snifter of brandy get your abeoji drunk?"
 - "Abeojim has a point,"
Jihoo said, finding the entire conversation amusing and reminded him of many of the conversations he had with his Grandfather.  "Abeojim, let Jaejoong sit this one out and you and I play, deh?"
 - "Deh!"
 - "Winner gets another brandy."
 - "Arraso!"
 - "Aish!  Jihoo-ah, you're encouraging him."
 - "Jaejoong-ah...should we call Eommoni over and ask her how long it's been since Abeoji over-indulged in his alcohol and then we'll ask Abigaíl too?"
Jihoo teased knowing that Jaejoong rarely drank now that he had given his life over to Jesus and Abigaíl.  Mr. Kim was nowhere near drunk, but Jaejoong, being a filial son who didn't want his Father to get in trouble with his Mother.
 - "Anieyo!  Abeoji is on his own if he gets in trouble with Umma.  Let's play.”

The women reconvened in the kitchen.  Isabel hadn't run out to tell them that HaEun was crying, so she must be napping"Jihoo must be enamored by his dtal, maja?"  Mrs. Oh asked.
 - "Deh Eomonni, she's the most vocal when he's around."
 - "It goes to show you that to be a good Abeoji, it comes from within.  So many namja abandon their children and families or are indifferent to them.  They are only commodities to be used in business."
She was blessed to be given to a man who loved her and the child she bore him, but many of her acquaintances weren't so fortunate.
- "Deh, Eommoni," Abigaíl’s hormones were in overdrive and the tears quickly began to fall.  "Ugh!  I'm sorry...dumb hormones."
 - "Chica..."
Ilana placed a soothing hand on Abigaíl’s back.
 - "Emi (used when the daughter-in-law has given birth to a child), Gwenchana.  Yesu's blessings aren't something we earn or deserve, but because of his great love for us."
Mrs. Oh loved Abigaíl as if she were a true daughter.  The fact that her ex-husband abandoned her, and a newborn Isabel made her livid, but at the same time, her son was able to be blessed by Abigaíl and her by him.  God indeed knew what he was doing and why.
 - "Deh, Eommoni," Abigaíl smiled for her Mother-in-Law "Ilana, I wish you could until JayHyeon is born, but I'm not even having regular contractions yet.  JaeWook made me miserable for an entire week before his due date."
 - "JaeHyeon is comfortable and doesn't want to come out."
 - "Deh, he's having fun in the space recently vacated by his brother.  I looked petite with JaeWook, compared to what I look like now, with JaeHyeon."
 - "You're beautiful, dear."
Her Mother in law assured her.  "Ara adul and know his look of adoration when he looks at you."
A soft smile spread on Abigaíl's face.  "At least weight-wise I'm on track and haven't gone over the maximum.  Though Jaejoong and my Mom are always trying to feed me."
Ilana thought of Jihoo and Nana.  Even now, that she's was no longer anemic; they were still after her to maintain proper meals.
 - “A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,” Mrs. Oh quoted"As your nampyeon lead you, provide for you and are there at your side, you two are their crowning achievement."
 - "I don't feel like it sometimes."
 - "Chica, that's the enemy whispering in your ear."
 - "Ara!"

Ilana smiled.  "I'm grateful that Yesu has brought me Jihoo who leads me with love and patience."
 - "Yes, patience,"
Abigaíl teased.
 - "Brat," Ilana answered back.
Just then Isabel and JaeWook walked in"Tía, I put HaEun in her carrier with her blanket.  She fell asleep right away."
 - "Gomawo JaeWook, you're such a good Oppa,"
Ilana picked up the little boy and gave him a kiss.
 - "Cookie?"  JaeWook settled himself happily in Ilana's lap.
 - "Mira que cómodo (Look how comfortable he is)?"
 - "Gwenchana, he likes his Tía Ilana, don't you?"
 - "Cookie?"
 - "Yah...JaeWook, are you just using me to get closer to the sweets?"
 - "Wookie, give bpo bpo to Tía Ilana."

Ilana bent her head and sure enough, Wookie gave her a sweet kiss.  "¡Ay que lindo (What a sweetheart)!  Arraso, you've earned your prize," Ilana served him a small slice of cake.
 - "Dile gracias a tu Tía (Say thank you to your aunt)."
 - "Gosha,"
JaeWook said as he shoveled cake in his mouth.  Ilana just laughed, thinking he was the cutest little monkey in the whole world.  Ilana yawned about that time.
 - "Are you tired?" Abigaíl asked.
 - "A little, even if it's not even five back home, but I hardly slept on the plane."
 - "The namja seem to be enjoying themselves, they haven't said a word,"
Mrs. Oh looked to the door, expecting the men to walk through at any moment.

The men had tired of billiards and were now enjoying their extra old Armagnac.  "Every now and then, this is a nice treat.  Tell your Harabeoji, Na will go fishing with him on our return to Seoul.  We Harabeoji need to stick together."
 - "Deh, Abeojim.  Take him away from his work, before he misses HaEun’s first birthday."
Jihoo was half-joking.  His Harabeoji loved his work, but Jihoo wanted him to start slowing down, worry less, and enjoy his other pursuits more.
 - "Once the rest of his chingu begin to retire, he will too.  Harabeoji Song is still active in the business as is Harabeoji So."
 - "He's made new acquaintances of other Doctors and even some of the elders from our Church in Seoul.  I feel better about leaving him for months, knowing that on occasion he has a scheduled outing with chingu."
 - "Choah.”
 - "What of Umma and Abeoji?  Any plans on retiring?  You can stay here with Anae and the kids."
 Jaejoong asked hopefully.
Mr. Oh laughed.   "Deh, that would be nice hajiman there's still plenty of miles left on these bones.  Incidentally, an investor needs to invest.  Jihoo-yah, how goes ILC-Seoul?"
Jihoo smiled at the businessman"Abeojim will need to take it up with Anae.   JK group just managed to push themselves in due to Anae's pregnancy complications."
Mr. Kim had been leaning forward with interest and now leaned back, resigned.  "Deh, deh, na heard from Mr. Ha, who couldn't stop boasting.  His dtal was at the right place at the time.  Let her know that I'm interested, deh?"
 - "Deh Abeojim."

After HaEun woke from her nap and Ilana offered her a soothing early evening snack (it was only 5:30 PM back home), it was time to leave.  Isabel and JaeWook needed to get ready for bed and Abigaíl would need all her strength to wrestle her wiggly son into bed.  "Can't they stay a little longer?"  Isabel pleaded.
 - "Isabel..."  Abigaíl had a strict no whining rule, but Jaejoong always melted when his little jagiya was upset.
 - "Agassi needs to rest for school tomorrow," Jihoo smiled kindly at the little girl in front of him.
 - "Just another few minutes?  Mama, I promise I'll wake up on time!"
 - "Ajussi Jihoo and your Tía need to rest; it's been a long day for them."

Isabel knew she'd lost the battle and her little face fell almost to the floor, she was so forlorn.  Ilana's heart twanged; she loved that little girl so much.  "Mi preciosa muñequita, ven, dame un abrazo (My precious little doll, come, give me a hug)."  Ilana crouched down, with HaEun in her arms and Isabel gave them both a hug and kiss.
 - "Annyeong HaEun-ah, come visit again, soon.  Annyeong Ajussi!"  Isabel bowed to Jihoo like he taught her when they first got to know each other and Jaejoong.
 - "Isabel, JaeWook, and Abigaíl-ssi are always welcome to visit us in California."
Jaejoong caught onto his name's omission.  "Yah!  What about me?!"  Jihoo just couldn't resist giving him a hard time for old time's sake.
 - "Greomyo!  Jaejoong is welcome too.  Nampyeon just likes to give his old colleague a hard time," Ilana knew that mischievous twinkle in her husband's eyes.
 - "Jihoo-yah bogoshipo, haengbohkaeyo that you and your family are well.  Any chance you'll relocate back to New York?"
Jihoo wrapped his arm around his wife"Anae's family is in California, Na have to consider her needs as well, now.  It's no longer just about what Na want."
 - "That's how it should be, adul,"
Mr. Kim gave Jihoo a hearty hug and bowed to Ilana.  Mrs. Kim had no qualms about kissing and hugging the three of them.
Then began the tearful goodbye between Ilana and Abigaíl"Chica!"  Both women allowed their embrace to say the words they couldn't say.  "One evening was not enough to catch up with friends and fellow Moms.  It's hard when your friends are scattered all over the planet."

Mr. Yoo began driving per Jihoo's earlier instructions.  Jihoo wasn’t completely sure if it was the right thing to do (taking her there) but as long as they were still on California time, they might as well stay out longer.  Sitting with HaEun in between them, Jihoo reached over to massage his wife's neck.  "Pigonhaeyo?"  She looked as if she would fall asleep any second.  "I've asked Yoo to take us for a drive around Manhattan.  It's still early."
 - "Guerae,"
she grabbed his hand from behind her neck and laced her fingers through his, resting their hands gently on top of HaEun.  "HaEun-ah, gwenchana?"  Ilana brought HaEun's baby hands to touch theirs.  "There, now we're all holding hands."  Looking out the window at the passing scenery, she spotted the hospital and their old apartment building.  "Oh, the Coleman building!"
- "Deh, Sarang lived there for just over a year and Na lived there for over five years.  The most memorable year was that last year.  It must have been just after you moved in, Na saw you walking to the elevator with Brendon-ssi and Kike."
 - "Chincha?  Sarang never told me.”
 - "Deh?  Na must have forgotten.  Sarang attracted nae attention from the first day."
 - "I'm sure Dr. Jihoo had more important things to think about other than me."
 - "Guerae, hajiman Sarang was quick to be on the list of important things."
 - "And here Na was just trying to stay away from you,"
she laughed.
 - "Was na that frightening back then?”  His life, before his wife tripped into it, seemed so far ago and the memories of how he lived his life without her seemed to blur.
 - "Anieyo!  Sarang was always kind to me, hajiman...Abigaíl said that you looked like you could read people's thoughts.  Na didn't want you reading mine."  HaEun was smiling as if she understood her parent’s conversation.  "Verdad, Beba (Isn't it true, baby girl)?"
 - "Da!"
 HaEun responded.
 - "Gongju, Umma is paboya sometimes, deh?"
 - "Da!"
 - "She's in the mood for talking.  Did HaEun-ah have fun playing with JaeWook Oppa?"

HaEun responded again with her baby babble.  "Sarang, does she really understand what we're saying?"
 - "Not all of it, but deh.  She probably remembers JaeWook Oppa and she knows she's 'Beba' and 'Gongju'.  Studies show they understand more than we give them credit for.”
 - "Wau, Beba is so smart!"
Ilana tickled her tummy, getting her to laugh.  Looking out the window, Ilana saw they were passing Rockefeller center and soon coming up to Times Square"Sarang, Manhattan does have its charm, I suppose.  The lights are actually pretty at night.  Na really never went out at night."
 - "Choah, even in Manhattan it wouldn't be safe for you.  Your apparel always looked foreign."
She was usually bundled up in any weather under eighty degrees.
 - "Funny.  Beba, Appa thinks he's funny."
 - "Pa-Pa, pa-pa."
 - "Deh, HaEun Appa.  It was a beautiful season, my year in New York, hajiman I'm happy to be home.  Does Sarang feel the same?   With our time divided between Los Angeles and Seoul?"
 - "Paboya, doesn't Sarang remember what she told me when she returned from Los Angeles, that first time, after being sick?  Sarang said where I was, was home,"
he lifted her hand, giving it a kiss.  "Does Sarang not think the same applies to me?  Sarang says she could live anywhere as long as Na was there, hajiman I'm not ready to test that theory."
Ilana looked out the window, smiling.  "Aigoo, nampyeon is like a voice recorder.  He remembers everything I say.  Eottoke?"  Ilana hissed inwardly.  "If Sarang says, let's move back to Seoul tomorrow, na promised to obey..."  Ilana tried her best to make a sad face but couldn't hold it for more than a few seconds without laughing.  She'd wasted too many years being sad for her to waste time now by pretending to be.
 - "Maja..."  Jihoo laughed with her.  "Saranghae, nae sarang," Jihoo observed her beautiful smile as she looked out the window.  Mr. Yoo wasn't driving anywhere in particular.  He was being paid to give them a ride around Manhattan and Jihoo would let him know if and when to head to the previously discussed destination.  Ilana didn't respond verbally, just squeezed his hand in response.  Her silent message would travel from her heart, down her arm, pass their linked hands, up his arm, and into his heart.  He felt that familiar pulsating when his heart received her message.  He thought it would be safe to proceed to the destination he'd arranged with Mr. Yoo.  "Sarang, now that you're here, in New York, how do you feel?  Still angry?"
She looked at him in surprise and thought about her answer.  "Chincha...more resigned.  Deh, it pricks a little," she brought her pincher fingers together.  "If JanDi Unnie could wait patiently for five years, nado.  Haengbohkae to be back here hajiman not for the reason we discussed the other day.  My year here really was beautiful for all the new friends and special memories I made.  Seeing Unnie, ShiYoon, Abigaíl, and her family;  Nomu haengbohkae.  Gomawo, for bringing HaEun and me."
 - "Mmm."

In truth, he couldn't bear to leave her behind even for the day.  "Mr.  Yoo, let's head to our discussed destination."
 - "Deh, Jihoo Uissa."
 - "Sarang, where are we going, now?"
 - "Sarang will see..."

He didn't need to see her frustrated face.  She was still weary of surprises.  Especially from him, they tended to stretch her in ways she didn't want to be stretched.
 - "This will be a nice surprise, deh?"
 - "Yah, is Sarang saying nae surprises are not nice?"
 - "Anieyo!"
She was quick to negate his question.  She'd just have to wait and see.  Ilana hoped she could throw a blanket over her husband's face and not see his mischievous eyes.

The travelers had arrived at the hotel in record time.   Thankfully they packed light and only brought one suitcase between them.  She had clothes in her closet at home and he planned to do some shopping while in California.  "Yah!  Orabeoni said he'd get the room with the bunk beds!"  Mina complained once they walked into their hotel room.  It was easier to keep him in check if she could threaten to send him to his own bed.  Not that she didn't enjoy snuggling next to him all night and waking up to morning kisses.  She felt herself blushing and shook her head.
 - "Oh, mianhae...nah thought the twin beds would be too uncomfortable for nae jagi.  Gwenchana, the queen bed was only slightly more."
 - "Ah, deh...how convenient."
 - "Deh...we could ask for a double bed instead.  I'll make sure to keep you warmer in a smaller bed."
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for teasing kisses that always made her knees go weak.
 - "Begopahyo, it's lunchtime back home," Mina nipped at his lips and then had a little taste of his neck.
YoungSaeng crashed his lips into hers in a hungry and demanding kiss.  It didn't take long for their tongues to perform a dance only they knew.  Mina felt the flush spreading all the way down to her toes and had to pull away or disintegrate completely"Nado begopah," he smirked at her.
Grabbing her phone to divert her attention from that smirk, she said.  ”There’s a Chipotle on the way, we can eat and walk at the same time.”
YoungSaeng suddenly tried stalling.  “It’s open until 2 AM, let's just take a quick nap,”
he was already pulling her down to the bed.
 - “If I lay down now, you’re not getting me up until our flight to Los Angeles tomorrow.  Ara, it’s Orabeoni’s birthday and he can celebrate any way he wants,” Mina gave him a sweet smile as she played with his hair.  He used to hate his hair messed with, but he didn’t mind her touch at all.  “Hajiman, the entire reason we’re here and not in Los Angeles is because Orabeoni had the bright idea of putting the past behind him on top of the Empire State Building.”  Glaring at him, she gave his lips a hard peck.  “If Orabeoni wants more we need to get going, arraso?”
 - “Arraso…,”
he sulked.
 - “One more kiss, just because Orabeoni is so cute.”  Mina smacked his lips with hers, making him laugh.

 - “Arraso, kaja.”

 - “Jeongmal?”  Ilana asked as Mr. Yoo dropped them off in front of the Empire State Building.
 - “Does Sarang realize she is already at peace before even setting foot in the building?”
 - “Deh Sarang…,”
of course he was always right.
Jihoo helped tie HaEun into her sling.  It would keep them both wife and daughter warm if they shared body heat.  “Na haven’t been here since we were kids and never with an architect before, should we take our time and look around?”
 - “Deh Sarang!  Beba, this place is really cool.  We have about two more hours until your bedtime, so the audio tour will be perfect.”

A weeknight in the winter wasn’t as crowded as it would be in the summer.  Walking hand in hand, they slowly made their way through the exhibits and listened to the audio tour with Ilana often pointing out many interesting architectural facts.  The open air part of the Main deck was very cold.  Ilana was grateful for her warm gloves and scarf.  HaEun wore several layers under her fleece jacket and pants, on top of being wrapped in the sling.  There was no way she could be cold“Beba, look at all the lights.  Pretty?”  Ilana pointed at all the lights.  HaEun seemed to be enjoying the cool breeze on her face.  "Paboya, your nose is going to freeze," Ilana tapped her gloved finger on her baby's nose.
 - "She doesn't take after Umma."
 - "Ani, Na remember wearing more layers than I am now and still feeling the chill.  HaEun doesn't seem bothered at all."
 - "Deh, considering she doesn't know the cold yet.  She was born in late spring and then we went back to California before the fall chill began in Seoul."
Jihoo bent to give his wife a kiss.
- "Yah!  Your lips are cold!"  He only wore a short topcoat and scarf, but he was warm enough.
 - "Eeliwah," he opened his arms and Ilana leaned into his hug, squashing HaEun in the middle.  She liked that game and squealed happily.
 - "Beba likes to be squished by Appa."
 - "So does Umma."
 - "Greomyo."
 - "Choah, we'll go upstairs in a little while."

The three remained huddled together until HaEun tired of their game and began to complain.

Deciding they were in no hurry and very hungry, YoungSaeng and Mina decided to enjoy their meal and then walk the rest of the way to the famous skyscraper.  "I'm so full!"  Mina socked her boyfriend while they walked.
 - "Yah!  What was that for?!"
 - "It's all Orabeoni's fault!  He wouldn't share a burrito with me."

YoungSaeng laughed"Jagiya, half a burrito would not be enough.  What happened to the salad you were going to order?"
 - "Your burrito looked better than a salad."
 - "Mianhae, jagi is picking up my bad eating habits.  When we get to your home we'll only splurge for one meal a day and we'll go for long walks on the beach, deh?"
 - "Deh!  Just a few more feet!"
The entrance was in sight.  "Kaja, let's run!"  Stuffed or not, Mina took off running and he had to chase after her.  They arrived out of breath but laughing.  "Orabeoni!  Let's take a picture.  Jeogiyo...ugh!  I mean excuse me? Mina grabbed the attention of one of the staff"Will you take a picture of us, please?"
 - "Jagi is forgetting her English,"
YoungSaeng teased as they posed for a picture.
 - "Maja, maja!"
 - "Enjoy your visit," the staff member handed back Mina's phone.
 - "Thank you, we will."
 - "Is it just me or Mina-yang is getting excited?"
 - "I think the food gave me a second wind.  I can't wait to get to the top!"
 - "Kaja,"
YoungSaeng linked his hands with hers.  Since it was after ten P.M. they didn't have to wait too long to go up.
Mina dragged her boyfriend all over the deck, peering down, up, and across.  "Wau!  Orabeoni this is daeback!"
His silly girlfriend was back and he took a few pictures of her while she was too busy looking out of the rails.  "Anja, I'll take a picture."
 - "Orabeoni, sit with me and we'll take a selca."
 - "I'll take it,"
a staff member approached.
 - "Kan...Thank you," YoungSaeng was tongue tied for a second"Mina-yang is rubbing off on me," he kissed her cheek.
 - "Perfect!  Enjoy your visit, sir…ma'am.  If you stay another hour or two, the deck is almost deserted," the man smiled at the couple who in turn turned to each other and laughed.
When the man walked away, Mina jumped off her perch "Orabeoni, I want to look through the binoculars and then we'll go up to the 102nd floor.  It's getting way too cold."
What they couldn't do in Seoul they took advantage of in New York.  He back hugged her and kissed her cheeks while she attempted to look through the viewer.  "Orabeoni!  Don't you want to see?"
 - "Na see everything just fine."
The deck was dark, only lit by the city lights outside, but he had no problem seeing his beautiful girlfriend.

The 102nd floor wasn't as popular as the 86th and therefore the Yoon family had it almost to themselves.  "Choah," Ilana rose on her tiptoes and gave her husband a kiss.
 - "Wae?"
 - "It's been a nice evening."
HaEun had just started to get fussy and Ilana removed her hoodie figuring she was too hot on the enclosed deck.  "Fussy baby, it's almost time for you to go to sleep.  Sarang, help me change the position of the sling, so she's more relaxed."
 - "That's a good idea."
While he helped his wife out of her coat, she helped HaEun out of hers.  He untied did he sling so HaEun could curl up against Umma and have a bedtime snack.  Jihoo removed his coat so his wife could sit on the floor and be more comfortable.
 - "It feels good to sit; I don't think we were here this long last time."
 - "Na don’t remember much of when we were here either.  Ara JunPyo got in trouble for something.  It took a call to WooBin's Abeoji to avoid them deporting him."
 - "Sarang!  What could a kid possibly have done to earn deportation?"
 - "Sarang, the F4 were not known for following the rules, but making their own."
 - "Ay!!  You guys were scary.  I'd be pulling my hair out if you were my responsibility."
 - "Mmm, I'm sure some of our bodyguards left their employment with less hair then with which they began.”.

Smiling over the memory, they stayed quiet.  If they did too much talking while HaEun as trying to feed, she'd want to know what they were saying instead of concentrating on eating.  It wasn't until she was done on one side and Ilana offered the other, that she began to speak again"Sarang...I have a confession."
 - "Oh?"

Trying not to tense, Ilana spoke again.  "In my coat pocket is the necklace.  Before nampyeon says anything hear me out, deh?"  She was busy getting HaEun situated again and didn't have to look at her husband.  "Na think it just doesn't belong to me anymore.  It feels odd to wear it, now, because of the intention behind the gift.  I'd return it to him, but mollah if that would hurt him.  Na thought...Na could leave it behind and maybe it would find its way to another pair of friends that loved each other as a namja and yeoja would."
 - "Sarang, na sarang,"
he leaned in, giving her head a kiss.  In truth, he would rather she not wear something that another man gave her as a declaration of love and he thought much of her concern was also due to being married to him, now.
 - "Sarang, does it bother you that much?"
 - "Deh..., na don't feel right about keeping it.  Hokshina I shouldn't have accepted, but I thought we'd just be chingu forever and Na could accept that part of the gift."
 - "Where should we leave it?"
 - "How about on the windowsill?"
Ilana's heart pounded nervously, she'd treasure the sweet thoughts with which the necklace was given to her, but those thoughts no longer belonged to her.
Jihoo took the box from her coat pocket and wrote an inscription:

"Whoever finds this, can keep it with our blessing.  Re-gift it to a special friend in your life."

Jihoo placed the small box on a windowsill away from the staff member's eyes and then came back to his wife"Jjajan!  Mission accomplished.  Does Sarang feel better?"
 - "Deh!  Na will continue praying for his success and happiness."
 - "Choah...is na princess asleep?"
 - "Deh, I just need to tighten the knot again."
 - "Gwenchana, I'll help you up, so she doesn't wake from us moving her."

After Jihoo secured the wrap that held HaEun, Ilana stretched her arms high lifting herself on her toes.  "I'm ready to go back to the hotel and pass out."
Jihoo also stifled a yawn and then helped his wife into her coat before throwing on his.

 - "Kaja!  I can't wait to see the view from this floor," Mina practically dragged YoungSaeng off the elevator.  "Orabeoni, it's so warm in here," Mina had begun to freeze on the other floor.
 - "Wau!  This is higher than Namsan tower!"
 - "You two love birds will have the floor all to yourselves in a minute,"
an employee greeted them"There's a small family with a baby, but they're getting to leave."
 - "Thank you,"
Mina said.  "Poor baby, it's so cold."
 - "Mmm, jagi is fortunate to have her personal heater with her."

Since there was no one around, he decided to take advantage.  "Bpo bpo,” he demanded.
Mina decided to play hard to get"Anieyo, I want to look at the view," she slipped out of his grasp and walked only fast enough to make sure he caught her.
 - "Na Mina-yang cannot escape me ever," he gave brushed his lips against hers and nuzzled her face, landing a kiss on her forehead.
 - "Deh!  Eottoke, you have a bad track record for keeping promises."

Jihoo and Ilana had gotten on their jackets and began to move to the door when she froze at the sound of the two voices.  She brought her finger to her lips, asking Jihoo to stay quiet.
 - "How does Orabeoni feel?  We're in New York on top of the Empire State Building, does it feel different?"
 - "Jeogiyo, though nae feelings back then were sincere, thanks to nae angel I'm able to separate the Oppa who wanted her love from the Oppa who wants to be her chingu."

Ilana's hands trembled at the thought of who those voices belonged too.  Angry and frightened tears fell.  Angry, because she felt betrayed.  He abandoned their friendship because she fell in love and married a wonderful man.  Not that her Oppa wasn't wonderful in his own right, he just wasn't the one for her.  Now, he was dating someone, and Ilana would be more than happy for him.  Yet, he still chose to ignore her and didn't even have the decency to tell her he was dating one of her friends.  And though she hoped it wasn't them, she was frightened.  Frightened, that it really was them and her angry thoughts would be validated.
Jihoo stood watching and waiting for his wife to explain why tears had suddenly appeared on her cheeks.  It wasn't dark enough not to notice.  "Sarang, gwenchana?" He asked quietly as he wrapped her in his arms with HaEun between them.
Ilana shook her head, 'no'.  She wasn't alright, she felt as if a knife had wedged into her lungs, like the panic attacks she used to have.
 - "Does Sarang know these people?"  He didn't know Mina's voice well enough and he certainly didn't know YoungSaeng's voice.
 - "Wae?  Wae?  Na didn't do anything wrong?"  Ilana mumbled into his chest.
 - "Sarang, who said you did anything wrong?"
Ilana shook her head again and wiped her face.  "Ani...ani...Na won't be sorry, Na won't be hurt or angry anymore.  The past is the past, everyone has ex-friends, maja?"
 - "Sarang!"
Before he could ask what she was talking about, she tore away from him to the ledge, where he'd placed the necklace.
YoungSaeng and Mina finally woke from their loving haze to hear voices that sounded very familiar.  Still in each other’s arms, neither was ready for Ilana to suddenly appear in front of them.
 - "Ilana!"  Mina jumped away from YoungSaeng.
 - "Cinder...eh...Ilana, eottokae?"
 - "Deh, gwenchana, Na won't ever bother you again."
She grabbed his hand and placed the box in the middle of it.  "This should be Mina's now.  Happy Birthday.  We've now come full circle and YoungSaeng-ssi is free from all obligations he might think he still has toward me.  They ended the day I was married."  With that, she walked away.  She was done trying to force a friendship that was over.
 - "Sarang...," Jihoo stopped her from going any further.  He didn't know how to help.  Though he left for the army and then New York, he didn't completely distance himself from JanDi.  He tried, but seeing her happy was better than not seeing her at all.  And if he didn't see her at all, he would have missed being a part of InHei's life and JiYeong's as well.  For the moment, he just let her cry.
YoungSaeng had hesitated for a second and then walked over to where Ilana was.  He owed it to both Ilana and Mina to set everything straight.  "Jeogiyo," YoungSaeng stood next to Jihoo, feeling extremely awkward.  This wasn't how he wanted to face her and certainly not the way he wanted to reveal his relationship with Mina.  "Cin...," it felt so strange to try and be formal with her.  "Ilana-yah...Ilana-ssi, jeongmal, Na wanted to make everything right between us."  She was still sniffling in her husband's arms.  "Na was going to visit you in L.A.  Maknae told me Jihoo Uissa would throw salt at me," he gave a nervous chuckle and bit on his lip.  Mina took his hand in encouragement.  "Jeongmal, na think I would prefer that, rather than your silence."
 - "That can be arranged,"
Jihoo said, not entirely joking.  He didn't like seeing his wife upset over something that could have been avoided.  "Mina-ssi, this is the namja that was in Japan on business?"
Suddenly Mina felt awful for lying.  "Ilana, I'm sorry for not saying anything sooner.  I was having a hard time believing it myself.  After all, he's been in Japan all this time and I’m...just a foreigner and...believe me, after we broke the news to Papi and Okasan, we planned on telling you next.”
YoungSaeng felt terrible about his girlfriend having to deal with his baggage.  "Mian," he whispered in the dark.
Ilana took a deep breath and stepped away from the sheltering of her husband's arms.  "I'm not angry at you," she faced Mina "How could I be?  It's not your fault."  She gave her a HaEun-full hug, who was missing all the drama.  It seems we both left home to find love unexpectedly,” she gave a half-hearted smile.  It was a fake smile, there was no light in her face, her eyes drooped sadly.  This was not the smile Jihoo had fallen in love with.  "It's YoungSaeng, I'm angry at.  This should be a happy reunion, but it's not.  I feel grieved...pain...that my favorite Oppa would turn his back on me.  I tried to wait patiently, but he didn't call or visit, not even when HaEun was born.  I can't just forgive and forget, right now.  It's just all wrong!  The order is all wrong!"  Tears were blinding her eyes again.
 - "Ilana-yah, mianhae, nomu mianhae.  Nae pabo...deh!  Na let my own pride and insecurity blind me to what mattered most and that was Ilana being happy.  I tried to make up for it, chincha.  Na wanted to let Ilana know she was still in my thoughts and na thought by sending gifts to HaEun it would somehow make up for my neglect."
 - "It didn't..."
she was facing Mina or else she wouldn't be able to voice all that she felt.  He needed to know his actions were not alright.  "Na could care less about the gifts...even if I had nothing, it still wouldn't be about the gifts.  YoungSaeng-ssi should know me by now.  Na wanted to see my Oppa again.  Na wanted to talk and laugh the way we used to.  Ara things are different, hajiman chingu are chingu.  Maknae hasn't changed, KyuJongie hasn't changed...but you turned your back on me and didn't want to see me.  I respected that...so much so that knowing where your police choir sang, other than the coincidental first time, I never went back.  YoungSaeng had plenty of opportunities to come back before this awkward meeting; before you were dating nae chingu!  Na wouldn't be so hurt and angry.  YoungSaeng-ssi went too far, Na could have easily forgiven you had you just come back sooner.  YoungSaeng-ssi had me blaming myself for his estrangement, even though I did nothing wrong.  Na never promised anything more than Na could give and the one promise Na hoped you'd keep forever, you didn't."  Ilana was done, with little sleep and the emotional roller coaster of the last few minutes, her head was starting to pound.  She turned her back on the other couple and took Jihoo's hand "Kaja, meoriapayo."
 - "Deh,"
Jihoo said.  "It's been a long day, we're jetlagged and returning to Los Angeles tomorrow.  We'll be leaving first.  We can continue this conversation in Los Angeles after everyone has had time to rest."  He inclined his head and turned to leave with his wife and child.
 - "I blew it," YoungSaeng said.
 - "Deh," Mina agreed.  "Pabo, Orabeoni.  Orabeoni already knew he blew it.”  She reached for his head, bringing it to her shoulder "Deh, Orabeoni did this all wrong.  She wouldn't be so hurt had you come to her sooner.  She just needed you to know how she felt about all this.  It doesn't mean Orabeoni won't be forgiven.  After she's had time to process everything and not be caught off guard again, we'll go visit.  Nana will be our referee."  Mina was his hair as if he were a little boy"At least she's not mad at me," she tried to make light of the situation.
 - "Nae Mina-yang, mian...chincha.  Nae dragged you into the middle of this.”
 - "Orabeoni didn't drag me anywhere, Na came willingly,"
she lifted his head and placed a tender kiss on his lips"Kaja...let's try to get some sleep.  Orabeoni can take me to breakfast before our flight.  Or will it be dinner?  Mollah!"
 - "Gomawo, for always being at my side,"
he hugged her tight.  He was so grateful for this woman's love.  Without her friendship and love, who knew if he could ever face Ilana again.

Chapter 6: Good chapter, sounds like Ilana needs a kind heart. Kyu sounds like he would make a good friend, and if anyone need a friend right now it's Ilana. Like the cruise ship setting. Nothing better than being on the ocean.

Chapter 138: Oh man. A great ending (even tho i dont want it to end). I think you closed this very nicely. Our F4 families have grown so much. I can invision the next generation of F4 and their stories that will be told.... I will ask about the 7 yrs. There is something abt their unwavering friendship after all these years... reminds me of how Kyu and Saengie went to ANEMONE to show their support to KHJ. It was great to see them there. Sorry it took me so long to finish reading and responding. Happy mothers day to you, your readers and all of our F4 mommies. Next story please. Heehee.
