Chanyeol and he are having lunch at Chanyeol’s favorite café and the giant’s been staring at the brunette behind the counter, taking orders from the café’s customers. “Grow a pair and ask him out.”
Chanyeol reluctantly tears his gaze away from the brunette to glare at his best friend. He knows he has said this way too many times and he doesn’t get it why Minseok still pesters him about asking the brunette out. “I’m straight, thank you very much.”
“Yeah, sure. Straight as a ruler. Keep telling your dumb self that.”
“You know my heart is taken by that gorgeous girl. I told you this, didn’t I?” Chanyeol rolls his eyes and stirs his Espresso before taking a few sips of his drink. His eyes automatically dart back to the brunette who is now animatedly talking with a female customer.
If he’s being honest, the only reason why he can’t keep his eyes off of the brunette is because he reminds him of a girl he met at Minseok’s garden party two weeks ago. That girl looked so gorgeous in a baby yellow summer dress and her wavy, shoulder-length hair with a bandana on top of it completed her beauty more. Chanyeol was speechless and lost his focus so he didn’t catch that girl’s name when Minseok introduced her to him.
That brunette, Chanyeol thinks, is like a duplicate of that girl with being the only difference between them. When he accidentally spotted that brunette in his favorite café the next day after the party—Chanyeol swears he’s a new employee because he comes to this café almost everyday and never did he see the other once before—he just can’t help it but to visit this café everyday to observe the brunette. And what’s more, he never skips one day without telling Minseok about how interested he is in that girl.
“Earth to Chanyeol. Earth to Chanyeol,” Minseok snaps his fingers in front of his best friend’s face, holding back a chuckle. “Dude, stop staring. He’s now staring back at you.”
As if someone pours a bucket of cold water on him, Chanyeol quickly collects himself and straightens his sitting position, eyes suddenly glued on his Espresso on the table. He hears Minseok finally laugh and oh how he wants the ground to open up a hole and him down.
A jingle of the bell on top of the entrance door is heard and Chanyeol turns his head to see the new customer in reflex. His already-wide eyes slightly double in size as he recognizes who it is—it’s the same boy who came to Minseok’s party with that girl he has interest in, the same boy who acted like he was that girl’s boyfriend… or perhaps he really is.
