Chapter One: Wyndox
Kingdom Era: Journey to the Land of NightChapter One
Wyndox
Prince Chinen was sleeping as usual; he lay in deep slumber on one of the nearby cumulus cloud. Cumulus clouds were his favorite because they were the softest. Nothing beats a fluffy cumulus cloud for a bed. He really pitied those earth dwellers who had never experienced what it was like to sleep on a cumulus cloud actually they had never slept on any kind of cloud for that matter. Earth dwellers were really so pitiful all they had for a bed is a heavy old cloth filled with duck feathers or was it goose? Well anyways that was all they had feathers that might have ticks in them and oh how they smell! Are the earth dwellers noseless or something?
Oh well never mind. He was deep in slumber that he didn’t realize that the cloud he was sleeping on was absorbing too many water vapor as a result it was fast becoming a nimbus cloud. The cloud rose up higher and higher until it was one huge thunderstorm. Prince Chinen woke up cursing, his clothes were drenched and some parts of his hair were burnt from the thunder. His mitera was going to freak out! Wyndox was one of the few regnum (kingdom) that used a different language from the rest of Tartharac. They spoke the language of the wind the one thought to them by the spirit Sho. He was the one of the first spirits made by the Creator. So back to the story the people of Wyndox called their mothers mitera while the other regnum called theirs okasan.
Prince Chinen grumpily surfed through the wind knowing that he will be heavily scolded by his mitera once she sees his condition, all soaked up. He was supposed to be in the royal study hall learning better ways on how to control his ability. He had the power to control the element wind but unlike the common people he can fully control that is if he matures! The royalty are able to become one with the element upon reaching maturity. How he wished he was mature now so he could become invisible like the wind! As of now he was still a young air master still learning how to make the wind behave he was no way near becoming a master yet.
He glided perfectly through the city. Synora’s architecture was one of a kind. The capital was floating in the air on top of sky islands. Grander houses for the nobles and rich traders were built on big islands while the commoners lived on small islands.
He was passing by the common air road lined with the commoners houses, people were greeting him cheerfully after all he was the only royal they always get to see often. He happily greeted them he knew almost all of them, from the poorest family to the richest. He was familiar with all their occupations and what they like to do. That’s because he spends more of his time roaming the air streets that being cooked up inside the castle.
He reached the crowded market place which was the biggest island in the capital and even the whole kingdom. People cleared the way as he passed; others who were natives to Synora even greeted him.
Benso the baker greeted him joyful’
“Your highness has been sleeping on a nimbus cloud again I see!” he said to prince Chinen as he passed him by.
“I didn’t do it on purpose!” he replied making the good ole baker chuckle at him.
“Her majesty the vasilissa(queen) would not be pleased with your attire your highness!” the old florist Rika told him jokingly but he knew that wasn’t actually a joke since he was going to be scolded the moment he reached the castle doors, first for skipping his lessons and second for going out of the palace again without permission. He was hurrying so much he wasn’t able to see a girl passing by; her heavy veil hit his face.
“Aw that hurts!” he cried out. The girl even though it wasn’t her fault immediately apologized trying a bow to the ground even though she was floating. People rarely walked outdoors why walk when you could fly? All the youth of Wyndox were bald the main reason for this being it would be hard for them to master their element if there was hair on their head preventing the release of the energy force accumulated as they used their power. As a result before they reached maturity they had to be bald. Girls wore veils to cover their heads since they could learn faster than males and also they didn’t look good bald. They wore heavy veils since the winds in Wyndox are the strongest in all of Tartharac.
He was getting past the thick crowd now and he could see the towering castle in front of him. The castle wasn’t as grand as the other regnum’s castles because it was built for fortitude not for display. He hurriedly entered the gates looking like he went swimming in the Rysian Ocean. He halted in his steps as he vaguely saw a vision of a sky blue cloth trimmed with silver roses. He spotted her his mitera looking like an executioner as she stood gracefully in front of the throne room door. She was wearing a floor length dress like all women in the regnum, it had a tight corset encrusted with aquamarine, her long bell shaped sleeves fell 2/3 to the ground lined with silver thread embroidery, and her skirt was parted in the middle showing a red brocade underskirt. Her hair was arrayed in a semi chignon while the rest flowed like black waterfalls on her back. Her head adorned with her sky silver crown shaped like a pair of wings enclosing her head. She was a beautiful woman indeed, the prettiest in the whole regnum or even Tartharac! She was his mitera of course she was the angel of his life but right now his angelic mitera was about to tan his hide.
He slowly approached her she was taller than him but her wooden heeled shoe made her taller he felt as if he was staring at the highest mountain in Tartharac! She was glaring at him obviously angry. Prince Chinen was actually small for his age he inherited it from his pappous (grandfather) who had dwarf blood so while the rest of his family was tall he was short! He could see his mikri adelfi (little sister) Melody grinning widely. He smirked he was sure she was the one who told their mitera that he snuck out again. She was a goody two shoes who loved it when their mitera praised her.
“You went OUT again even though I have CLEARLY prohibited you from LEAVING the castle!” his mitera said in her hawk like voice which was what she sounded like when she was angry.
“Mana(mom) I can explain! You see I was o
