“Sam…” You trail off, sitting up. “I’m…I’m sorry.”

His expression changes to confusion. “W-what? What do you mean, you’re sorry? For what?”

“I…I’m so sorry Sam.” Tears spring to your eyes. “You’re my best friend in the entire world, you know that?”

“Of course I know! What does that have to do with anything?”

“That’s just it Sam. I…You’re nothing more than that. My best friend. You’re more like a sibling than a love interest. I’m so sorry.” The tears fall, leaving spots on your jeans. “I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay, I…It’s my fault anyway. I’m the one that pushed you towards Yun in the first place. I should’ve known this was going to happen.”

Sam gets up, slowly backing away. “Have a fun rest of the night.” He turns and walks off, leaving you and the other two behind to watch in shock.

Yun leans forward and wraps his arms around you. Your heart flutters in your chest. “Are you okay, _____-ah?”

After a moment, you nod. “There’s no other way this could’ve ended really. I love you Yun, nothing can change that.” You look up at him and smile. “So, what now?”

“Now I think we should go grab some real food,” Teo answers, gathering the blanket.

“Okay, let’s go.” Yun nodded, starting off towards the exit. You, however, stay behind a moment and watch as the two walk along.

Yun realizes you’re not not following and turns, gesturing for you to come. “______-ah?”

You look up at the sky and let out a sigh. It was the right thing to do. Letting him go like that, there was no other way to do it. Your heart could never be with Sam, not when it was with Yun. He was the key to your heart, and nothing could ever change that.
