“Where are we? Are we in some kind of a drama?”

The young-looking male asked. Okay, I’m going to call him male 1. What is he talking about? What is a drama?

“Drama? I’m sorry, but what do you mean?” I asked.

“You know, drama.. TV, acting, camera, with directors and stuffs like that,” the other male answered. And yes, I’ll call him male 2.

What are these two males spouting?

What? Drama? Seoul? Where is Seoul located?

And why are they wondering about my clothes? Traditional? But this is the common clothing in our country, well, maybe it just looks more regal.

Now that I think about it, these two males in front of me are wearing weird clothes. They’re wearing clothes which I just saw for the first time.

They are not even wearing a gat.

Are they not from here?

“Common clothing? What, are we like in the 1800s?”  Male 2 asked while raising one eyebrow at me.

Where have these guys been? “Did you forget, young lad? It’s the year 1801,”

“WHAT?!” I flinched at the loudness of their voices.

Please don’t yell at me, I’m not deaf.

“Why do you sound so surprised?” I asked, softly.

“Don’t you dare joke around, woman!” Male 2 said, more like warned, while squinting his eyes at me.

“But I’m not joking,” I mumbled. “Are you not from here? From what you’re wearing, you don’t look like you live here in Hanyang. And from your surprised expressions, I truly believe you’re not from here,”

“You are right,” male 1 said. “We clearly are not from here. We are not from 1801. We live in Seoul, South Korea in the year 2014!”

“2014?” What is he trying to say?

Male 1 nodded at my question.

“Are you trying to say you’re both from the future?”

“I’m glad you catch up fast,” male 2 muttered.

Silence.

2014? Future? These two males?

I giggled which turned into laughter.

“What’s so funny?” Male 2 asked.

“You? From the future? But that’s impossible,” I answered between laughs.

“But we truly are from the future,” male 1 insisted.

Okay, okay. I stopped laughing and gained back my composure.

“Okay, if you truly are from the future, how did you come here? How did you travel through time?”

The both of them went quiet. I waited for them to answer my question.

But before they could explain anything to me, Soojin Eonnie called me, “Agassi! Where are you?”

My eyes widen for a moment, Eonnie must not see these two males from the future, not now; not when they’re wearing weird clothes!

“You have to hide,” I muttered, panicking. “Where should you hide? Where??” I asked myself.

Ah!

I pulled males 1 and 2 and rushed to the abandoned side of the palace.

I looked around, no one is here.

I opened a lodge where people rarely visits and pushed the two males inside.

“You stay here and keep quiet. I’ll be back,”

I instructed them and hastily closed the doors.

I walked back to the gathering hall, expecting Soyeon Eonnie there.

“Agassi,” Soojin Eonnie called from outside my chamber.

I covered myself with my blanket. The gathering last night ended pretty late, can’t they wake me up later? I need my sleep.

“Agassi, you have to wake up now,” Eonnie said from outside.

“I don’t want to. I’m still sleepy, Eonnie,” I mumbled.

“You still have your lessons,”

“Let me sleep, Eonnie,” I whined.

“You need to take these lessons for your future,”

At the word ‘future’, I sat up immediately.

I even said I’ll be back right away!
