Infinitely Dangerous
I came to when I heard voices. “Are you freaking kidding me?!” I heard a harsh whisper. “You sent those two to test her?! She is out cold if that helps. You just ordered a beating on an innocent girl.”
I heard another frustrated groan and I gave a sigh of relief when someone put an ice pack against my throbbing jaw. I opened my eyes to see Woohyun.
“I…” my voice cracked. “Shh, don’t talk. You can tell us what happened when you’ve rested.”
I cupped his hand on the ice pack and moved it up so the ice pack covered most of my left jaw. His face was solemn even through my half closed eyes. “G-gomawo.”
“Here’s some warm water. You want to sit up?” Sungyeol said coming over. “My ribs are hurting.” I said and just lifted my head slightly to drink the water.
“Why are you back so soon?” I asked in a soft whisper. Woohyun needed to lean a little closer to hear me. “It’s not soon. It’s midnight now.”
So I’d been out for almost 4 hours. Of course I was making a much bigger deal than I usually would. I’ve taken similar beatings before and had to move slower and favor certain body parts but now in front of the guys, I had to pretend I was too hurt to move too much.
“Did you see who did this to you?” Hoya asked from behind Woohyun. “Ani. It was fast. They took my money.” I said eyes half closed.
“Eunji. Rest. We’ll take care of you.” Sunggyu said coming over his face was angry but he was doing a pretty good job masking it.
“Ne.” I said softly and let my head loll to the side and pretended to go to sleep.
“I’ll make dinner and we can save her something.” Woohyun said and I felt his hand leave inbetween mine and the icepack gently.
“I’ll help.” Sungjong said.
“I’ll get her a blanket.” I heard L say and I heard the rest of the guys take a seat.
“She looks pretty bad.” Dongwoo said. “I didn’t expect this.” I heard Hoya reply.
“Well I’m going to meet them soon. So I’m going to ask them what exactly were they trying to prove with this order.” I heard Sunggyu’s tight voice.
I must’ve been more tired than I thought because I started to drift off and the last thing I heard was “I’m ashamed we couldn’t protect her like we promised.” But I didn’t know who said it.
