“Where are you going?” Chorong couldn’t help but cringe to hear her mother’s voice once she was in the middle of pampering herself before she went out to meet with Woohyun and his mother. She was so nervous until she couldn’t feel the numbness inside her heart because of Suho’s ongoing M.I.A. Suho had been missing for like three days without a call or single text to her that made her more upset. He never was the type that neglecting people, especially her.

She sighed audibly to let her mother know that her unannounced appearance affected her bad. They weren’t on their civil relationship ever since the last time they went into fights about Woohyun and Chorong didn’t want to go back into that phase with her mother again. She was already stressed out with everything; her business, her works, her love life, her marriage preparations, and choosing the right one.

“Somewhere, someplace,” She replied nonchalantly, “Trust me, you didn’t want to know, Mother.” She shifted her body and faced the vanity once again to apply the shimmering powder on her face. She looked pretty; she styled her hair long straight without any accessories needed.

Her mother stride down, come nearing her and tossed her bag on her bed while hovering behind her and looking at her likely she wanted to murder her, “Don’t tell me you’re going to meet your boy toy. I told you to cut the crap with him, you’re about to marry Suho. Where’s your fidelity, young lady?”

“Oh, mother, what are you talking about? Why are you suddenly talking about fidelity when I have no idea where on earth my future husband is right now? And,” Chorong sighed and turned around to face her mother once again, “Boy toy? I am not that kind of woman and Woohyun isn’t my boy toy.”

“Suho’s probably on work, you know how dutiful he is when it comes to his works and family.”

Chorong shook her head, “Yeah like how he decided to push back our marriage just because he needs to help his father or whatever. I bet by the time we’re married, Suho will be more faithful toward his works than me.”

“Then what?” Her mother shouted, “Are you going to punish him with cheating all over him with someone you thinks coming from your past? Don’t you think you’re as bad as Suho in this case? I raised you to be a proper lady and have a beautiful life your childhood didn’t have.”

She winced to have her mother reminded her about her childhood, “I had a beautiful childhood, mother, you didn’t know a thing about my childhood.”

“Beautiful childhood as if we were living a struggle life, your father abandoned us for another woman? Is that what you’re referring to as happy childhood?”

“At least I had Woohyun, mother!” Chorong shouted back, she didn’t care any longer about her mother’s feelings. They were both struggling because of her father and her mother kept reminding her about his father’s sins after years has passed and it made her sick. No matter how much she hated him for abandoning him, it was all in the past and they have to let go, “I had Woohyun and I was happy.”

Her mother looked as if someone ripped her heart out of her body, she was trembled, pale and hurts, “But he left you, didn’t he? Boys will always be boys, no matter how hard we tried to tame them down; it was beasts beneath their sweet forms.” She went silent for a moment then sigh, “I didn’t want you to get hurt the way your father hurt me, sweetheart. I want you to be happy and Suho, he’s the one capable to give you the world you deserved.”

“How do you know that being with Suho’s the best for me? And as you know, Suho’s also a boy,” Chorong sighed while she was trying her best to hold on her emotions, then she looked up to meet her mother’s watery eyes, “We don’t know what’s up on his sleeves, but you can say that he’s the one capable giving me world that I deserved.”

“You’re questioning his loyalty to you after everything he’d been through to be with you?” Her mother couldn’t help but started to get annoyed.

Chorong turned around and walked toward her walk-in closet to change her silk robe into the clothes she was going to wear to the meeting with Woohyun’s mother. She choose the simple skinny jeans alongside baby pink satin blouse that covering her body pretty enough and perfect for the occasion. Her mother followed suit, still wearing her angry mask with the glimpse of tears at the edge of her eyes. She hated it when she hurts her mother, but she just can’t keep her feeling bottled up under her fake smiles, her mother needs to learn that not everything’s going to be as perfect as she wanted to.

“Suho had been missing for three days without any words, and I hated it.” Chorong finally talked while wearing her jeans, “I don’t know where he is. He’d been like this ever since he pushed back the wedding date, saying he needs time to work it on his office due to his father’s down healthiness.”

“Can’t you wait for him a little bit?” Her mother voiced out, “You’re being such an ungrateful little brat for fooling around behind his back. I want you to be happy Chorong and Suho can give you everything you needs. Just let go off the past and think of it as if your little fantasy’s dead.”

Chorong rolled her eyes and turned her body around to face her mother, after she securely place the blouse around her body, “I can’t talk about it, just get out, mother,” She walked out of the closet and sat back in front of her vanity, “I’m going out and you better be not to spoil my already bad mood because of you.”

“No, I won’t let you go to meet that man you claimed as Woohyun.” Her mother replied sternly as she was practically steadied herself as blockade.

“Mother, you can’t possibly control my life...”

“But I have the right, I’m your mother and I want you to be happy.”

Chorong winced as she brushed her hair for the last time and stared into her reflection for a little while then shifted her gaze on her mother, “If you want me to be happy then let me live my own life the way I want it.”

Her mother groaned, “I don’t want you to get hurt, Chorong. With Suho on your side, I can pretty much relief because I believe that he won’t hurt you the way your father hurt us.”

Chorong gasped an air and opened at the same time her apartment’s bell rang. She closed immediately and get up to greet the guest who coming in such inconvenience time. Her mother remained still on her place as she was clearly upset with the intruder. She touched the screen to see that Woohyun was already standing in front of her door and it made her heart a little bit at ease to know it was him behind the door. She immediately opened the door and Woohyun was smiling brightly to see her. That made her heart swells in happiness.

“What a beautiful sight over there you presented me, angel.” Woohyun voiced out then walked closer to give her an amorous hug that made her heart content. This is how she always felt whenever she was around him. It just felt so right.

“I’m glad that you’re here...” Chorong smiled as she tightened her hug.

Woohyun frowned and let go off his hug to see her beautiful face that seemed covered with a dark cloud, “What’s wrong, angel? You seemed so upset.”
