You stepped into the house and saw the guy on the train the other day… Peniel. “What are you doing here?” Daehyun asked. “I’m Dongjin’s half-brother.” Peniel said. “You speak fluent Korean?” You asked.  Peniel nodded. “What are you doing here?” Daehyun asked again. “I’m visiting Dongjin.” Peniel said. “Are you sure you’re not here to stalk Miyoung?” Daehyun asked. “Nooo! We’re cousins.” Peniel said. “Yeah oppa, we’re cousins.” You said punching Daehyun’s arm playfully. Daehyun and Dongjin went to play video games in your room while you and Peniel sat on the couch getting to know each other more.

Peniel and Dongjin share the same father and have different mothers. Peniel was born in America, his dad actually loves Peniel’s mother more than Dongjin’s mother. (Peniel’s mum = Mrs Kim. Dongjin’s mum = Mrs Bae.) Mr Shin met Mrs Kim when he was in the U.S on a business trip. When he got Mrs Kim pregnant, he brought her home to Korea but Mr Shin’s parents wouldn’t agree because Mrs Kim was an orphan and isn’t wealthy.

After when Mr Shin sent Mrs Kim back to the U.S, his parents told him that he was getting married to a rich, smart pretty lady. She wasn’t the prettiest person, also not the nicest but what could Mr Shin do? He had to obey his parents.

On the day Peniel was born was Mr Shin and Mrs Bae wedding day. On their 7th anniversary, was when Mrs Bae was pregnant with Dongjin.  When Peniel was about 1 year old, he came to live in Korea with Mr Shin but Mr Shin’s parents just couldn’t accept him and Mrs Kim so again, they went back to the U.S. Once every year, Mr Shin would go and visit them.

“I knew your name sounded familiar.” Peniel said. “I just thought you were weird because of the clothes you were wearing.” You said. Peniel laughed. “We actually never talked or met each other before right?” “Right, I always hear Dongjin talking about you.” You said. “Stop calling me you. Call me Oppa.
