CHAPTER 27

 

GREEN RAIN

 

 

 

He was walking slowly on the green field, it was spring, and his lungs could clearly feel the fresh air slowly go into every of his single vein.

 

A fresh and beautiful morning.

 

Green.

 

It was all green.

 

Then suddenly he saw a white rabbit ran out from a bush across his direction, and the rabbit suddenly turned its way towards him with a quick roll and now, it was there, right under his left foot.

 

He kneeled down slowly for not scaring the fatty white cutie and gently touched its head.

 

The rabbit blinked looking at his eyes.

 

Then it started to ran again, this time back to the bush.

 

“Rabbie, where did you?”

 

A girl’s voice appeared behind the bush and Min Ho curiously stepped closer, he was so surprised finding a little girl in a white dress sitting on the ground behind the bush and holding the white rabbit in her arms.

 

He didn’t know why his heart skipped a beat seeing the back of the little girl, because he was standing behind and he was tall, so he could see her two tiny hands hug and caress the soft fur of the rabbit.

 

And the little girl started to sing, wagging her wavy brown hair in the melody of her song…

 

“… I want to hide my slightly nervous heart
And I want to firmly hold your hand and run
We become fresher in the pouring green rain
I used to be like a child,used to be immature
But the reason I grew up is because of your eyes that believed in me,

your one smile that was enough for me…”

 

 

He unknowingly grinned and chuckled a bit hearing the girl swallow cutely between the song.

 

 

And that made the girl stopped.

 

 

She turned around and raised her head up.

 

 

“Daddy?” - Her eyes widened

 

 

He got shock hearing that single words slipped out from the beautiful little girl’s mouth and it was becoming shocker when the girl let the rabbit go then hugged him tight, she found the way and tiptoed a bit to wrap her small arms around his neck because he was now kneeling down on the green grass.

 

 

“I think I have to wait for a long time so see you Daddy, but I know it, I know it, I know you will come, I know you will come to see me Daddy!” – After burying her head at his shoulder, the little girl cupped his face and said cheerfully, not stopping patting softly on and squeezing his face.

 

 

“See? Rabbie, I told you, Daddy will come!” – The girl turn her head bit towards the rabbit

 

 

He hadn’t had any chance to speak up as he quietly looked at the girl who was talking to the rabbit and he couldn’t help but stand the amusing and loving feeling in his heart with her tiny hands still on his face.

 

 

“How can you know that I’ll come?” – He tried to speak in the condition of his mouth was now forming into a pout with the force of the two small hands.

 

 

“Of course I know, I know you will come to see me, because you are Daddy, an Daddy knows best!” – She happily said as she hugged him again, tighter this time.

 

He smiled and rubbed her back gently.

 

“How long have you been waiting? Is it long? Did Daddy make you wait for so long, Princess?” – He asked, caressing her brown wavy hair.

 

“No, Daddy… Mommy is crying all the way, but I told Mommy I will protect her and Daddy will come to rescue us… And here you come, I know it Daddy!”

 

“Mommy? Does Mommy cry?”

 

“Yeah, Daddy, Mommy cries and Mommy skipped her meal, but oppa tells me it’s because of me…” – A pissing tone echoed in her cute voice, and she then pouted, that gesture made she looked like her mother the most… - “… Is that true? Daddy? Mommy is feeling unwell because of me?” – Water began to pooled up in her round big eyes

 

He pinched her cheeks and planted a kiss on her tiny nose, smilingly, he said – “No, Princess, how can Mommy feel sick because of you… Oppa is teasing you… Not that, believe me…”

 

“Really, Daddy?”

 

“Sure, Princess, how can Mommy get sick because of a beautiful and lovely princess like you?”

 

“I love you, Daddy…”

 

“I love you, too… Princess… Thank you for coming…”

 

“I will protect Mommy, Daddy, great grandma told me I was coming to protect Mommy, and you’ll be here with me.. And now I don’t scare anymore… You are with me, right, Daddy?”

 

“Sure… Princess…” – He kissed her fore head, and holding her in his arms, he stood up, singing softly near her ears.

 

“… Baby ready,now close your eyes and believe yourself…
… Listen to your heart (to your heart) I’m with you (I’m with you)
…'cause I love you so…”

 

 

…

 

 

“Hi, Ssul…” – Min Ho shyly said and his cheeks turned red when he hear Yuri and Yong Hwa try to suppress their chuckle.

 

“We’re leaving, then… I’m gonna prepare for a re – checking up for you after a while before letting you go home, now take rest Min Ho ssi…” – Yong Hwa said, he glanced at Yuri who was now wrinkled her nose for not laughing so hard at the patient’s reaction seeing his wife and couldn’t help but chuckle, not minding his faking serious tone anymore.

 

After the two doctors leaving, Min Ho was left alone with Sulli and the awkward atmosphere suddenly built up in the room.

 

They didn’t know why but they couldn’t look into each other eyes and both tried to avoiding eyes contact.

 

The air was getting thicker and thicker…

 

Silence was covered the room.

 

The awkward silence.

 

Until…

 

“How are you?

 

“How are you?”

 

The two struggled to say something to break the air.

 

Sulli shyly looked away as hang opened to said something more but then she met his eyes.

 

Min Ho couldn’t help but chuckle silently seeing his wife reaction, his heart felt like it was going to burst out when his nose tracing her aura and his eyes couldn’t take off of her blushing face.

 

“I’m not feeling well, but I guess it soon fade away…” – Min Ho answered

 

He decided to sit up and climbed out of the bed, Sulli was aware of his move and she nervously took a few steps back.

 

“I’m good, too… I… think…” – Sulli hesitated, somehow she remembered the fight the night before.

 

Her legs felt so weak looking at the gaze of his eyes, her heart race became uneven.

 

He smirked secretly at her anxious face, why did she always have to be this cute whenever she felt unsecured by him?

 

Sulli stopped when she felt her back touched the wall, came dried as Min Ho slightly kick the chair away on his way.

 

“I guess you’re fine now cuz I’m the one who’s unwell for you… rite?” – He teasingly said, kept on moving forward

 

Min Ho came closer and closer until Sulli was trapped between his body and the wall, the space left was too narrow that she could even hear her heart beat crazily.

 

She mumbled – “You…. You…”

 

And.

 

“Stop, I said stop moving forward! Don’t get closer!” – Sulli drew all of her bravery out to raise her voice, her eyes shut close, she knew she should face him, this was nothing to feel this way but she just wasn’t able to hold it in, she got so uneasy with her husband.

 

“Why? Why can Onew hyung but not me?” – Min Ho asked, leaned down to her blushing face.

 

“Onew oppa?” – Sulli asked in confusion, she had no idea why Min Ho mentioned about Onew.

 

“You don’t even let him come closer, he can even hug you, and enjoy your pat on his back…” – Min Ho flatly said, his eyelashes flapped slowly with his breath.

 

“You… you saw us?”

 

“In the park, my wife was hugging my hyung and I saw it, no explain, huh, Ssul baby?” – His husky voice brushed over her face.

 

“Explain?” – Sulli blinked, she still hadn’t understood his words and then a gasp escaped from , when he held her wrist and made her remember.

 

“No, I have nothing to say!” – Her stubbornness grew high as Sulli suddenly remember the fight the night before and his harsh words.

 

“Really?” – Min Ho narrowed his eyes.

 

“I have nothing to say with the one who snapped at me and told me I’m a burdensome!” – She looked right into his eyes, and Min Ho couls see her eyes became misty.

 

That made his heart ache in pain.

 

He would die for a thousand times remember his madness towards Sulli that night and that killed him for not being able to touch her and say sorry.

 

He was such a bad husband, he promised not to make her cry but he ended up yelling at her.

 

“Still mad at me?” – He asked in a softer tone, caressing her wrist which which still in his hand.

 

Sulli looked away.

 

“Ssul…”

 

“… No…”

 

“Ssul?” – Min Ho whispered

 

“…”

 

“Baby ah, Mommy is mad again, what should Daddy do? This is my first time I know you, but Mommy won’t let Daddy come closer, what should Daddy do?”

 

“I’m scared…”

 

“…” – Min Ho didn’t understand his wife’s words.

 

Still avoiding his gaze, Sulli took a deep breath as she continued.

 

“I saw Tae Yeon unnie cried out of the garden and I heard her talk with Onew oppa…”

 

Min Ho saw the tears on her face.

 

“Unnie said she wanted to… to get the abortion… she didn’t want to give birth to the baby, she didn’t want to make the baby suffer from not having a father, she… she said… she felt like she was killing herself  when she found out about her being pregnant, and she said… she didn’t want to tear Onew oppa and Luna apart… She was crying when she told Onew oppa that she was not brave as me, to hold on my baby no matter what happened, she said she couldn’t be strong like me, even when I was facing the death, I still could be able to hold on… and I… I…” – Sulli couldn’t stop the tears anymore.

 

Min Ho cupped her face and turned it to face him, he saw the tears and lift up his thumbs to meet those them.

 

“I felt into coma because I was being pregnant, right? Oppa?” – She cried softly

 

“Why don’t you tell me you’re pregnant again, and you suffer alone? Why don’t you tell me you’re scared” – Min Ho asked

 

“When I heard about Tae Yeon noona’s baby, I… I was not so sure about me being pregnant again… That’s why I asked you to come to the hospital with me, I… said it was about your health but actually I was so scared oppa…”

 

“I’m sorry, Ssul… I’m sorry… I’m a bad husband…” – Min Ho scooped Sulli in his arms, he didn’t know how to describe his feeling at the moment, when she was having Yoo Geun, he didn’t know it until she collapsed at Krystal home, and this time also, his scared little wife was suffering alone but he didn’t know it…

 

Who the hell was he?

 

A husband?

 

“I promise, Ssul… This time I’ll protect you…”

 

…

 

Sulli felt the warmness around and she turned her body to find it out.

 

Min Ho smiled when he saw her face, he reached out to grabbed her tiny waist and hugger tighter.

 

“Have you felt sick again, oppa?”

 

“No… Yoo Geun’s little sister is a good girl, she won’t bother her Daddy when he’s with her Mommy…” – He lovingly said and kissed her cheeks

 

“How can you know that she’s a girl?” – Sulli giggled

 

“I knew… I met…  Ah, no… It’s secret…” – Min Ho wrinkled his nose cutely

 

“Secret?”

 

“Uhm… Secret…”

 

“You’re even childish than Yoo Geun, oppa… Yoo Geun’s Daddy is like a baby more than him…” – Sulli pouted, unsatisfied with his reply.

“Bcause Yoo Geun is a baby and he gets all of your attention so I have to be more like a baby to get you back…” – Min Ho said

 

“Oppa…”

 

“Wae? Now can this baby kiss you?” – Min Ho eagerly asked, he couldn’t get enough of her while cuddling her in his arms like this.

 

“Will it be ok with Luna?”

 

Min Ho looked down on Sulli, his heart sank, but not for her ruining their moment, but for the love to his woman.

 

“They’re gonna be fine, Ssul… Love will find a way… I don’t know how Onew hyung can get over this, but I know how he hasn’t been struggling for all those years… Just like me when I got stuck between my fear and love towards you… But now I have you, and I know, if we’re mean together, we’ll find a way…”

 

He kissed her forehead, as he continued.

 

“I love you, and thanks to our beloved grandma, I’ve found the way… “Let’s your heart decides…” … remember her words? This time, I can see it more clearly…”

 

“Oppa…”

 

“Oppa is here…”

 

“Will it be alright this time? Our baby?”

 

“I promise, Ssul… We’ve found the way, and we had come this far… I promise, Princess… I’ve come with the White horse, though it’s a bit late and makes you wait, but I’ve come, and I promise I’ll be there for you… I love you…”

 

“I love you too, oppa…”

 

“Now, sleep tight, Princesses…” – He kissed her lips and lingered there for a while.

 

“Princesses?” – Sulli asked when he stopped kissing her.

 

“Yeah, my Princess Jin Ri… and Princess Baby…”

 

Sulli smiled and pecked his lips hearing his loving words, then she dreamingly dripped off to sleep, in his arms.

 

 

…

 

Sulli slowly opened her eyes, she felt a bit heavy, and softly brushed at her puffy eyes.

 

She sat straight and saw the light from the window, she looked at her grandmother who was sleeping on the bed, squeezing her weak hand, Sulli’s heart lit up seeing a smile forming on her lips. She was getting better for the last 2 weeks

 

The hospital room seemed a bit cold, Sulli stood up from her chair and looked around.

 

A strange feeling brimmed up when her eyes met the Wedding dress hanging on the wall.

 

“Is it all just a dream? Is it not, is not? Right?” – Sulli thought, closing her eyes.

 

She touched the Wedding dress, it was so beautiful.

 

“All is just a dream… all is only a dream…”

 

“Sulli, dear…” – Her grandmother called from behind

 

“Grandma, you’re awake? How do you feel?” – She rushed over to the bed, holding the old smiling woman’s hand.

 

“I told you to leave and rest at home, Ssul… Look at your two eyes… How can you be a beautiful bride with a sleepless night? Tomorrow is your wedding day and how can you stay here with me and don’t have a proper preparation?”

 

“I’m alright, grandma…”

 

“You stubborn girl…”

 

…

 

“This ain’t a fairy tale, grandma… I thought it was… But it was only a dream… Tomorrow?

 

My wedding day…”
