The Girl Who Wants Death

Kai’s POV

She walked into homeroom late again, but the teacher never really seemed to mind. She wasn't standing straight like always. Not slouching entirely… just not straight as usual. She was limping a little, but nobody would really notice unless they were watching her. She was wearing a pair of pale mint green, long skinny jeans, and a white and pale green long-sleeve. In late summer. Anybody would be suffering in that.

Sunhi just walked straight past me as always, sliding into her seat and dropping her bag rather harshly.

So she really was beat up, and she’s trying to hide her bruises and pain. I can’t say I’ve felt a lot of sympathy for girls before that were beat up, but I did for Sunhi. It’s just… strange.

I slouch down in my seat, just resting my head on my arms. I turned slightly to see Sehun glancing every once in a while at Sunhi. He was probably curious about how she was.

I looked across the room to Luna, who was looking at Sunhi with a slightly worried expression before turning back to the book in her hands. Kris probably told Victoria, who told the rest of the girls.

The bell rang, shocking me out of my thoughts. I saw Luna quickly shove her book into her bag before she stood up, just barely catching Sunhi as she always somehow managed to be the first out of the door. I didn't even realize she'd walked passed me.

“At least we know she hasn’t broken any bones, right?”

I turned towards Sehun as he swung his backpack over his right shoulder.

“Yeah…” I grabbed my backpack also, walking out the door with Sehun.

Sunhi and Luna were clear out of sight already.

“She seems interesting, doesn’t she?” asked Sehun. “We should introduce EXO to her.”

“Why do you call us EXO?” I muttered. “And maybe she doesn’t really wanna meet us. She doesn’t talk to anybody other than those five girls.”

“Those five girls also happen to be our friends,” replied Sehun, walking over to his locker.

“Why so eager to meet her? Actually, we already met her. Why so eager for the rest of the guys to meet her? And for you to talk to her again?”

He blushed and opened his locker, pulling out some books and replacing some from his backpack.

I smirked. “Let’s just get an overview of Sehun’s real ideal type. Small. Cute. Long hair. Quiet sometimes. Blunt. Only things missing are that charming smile and more talking. If I didn’t know any better…” I hooked my arm around Sehun’s neck. “Sehun’s taken a little liking to this quiet, new girl.”

He shoved my arm off, blushing more. “Just don’t tell anyone.”

“Why not? We can just tell the guys. They’ll probably laugh a bit then help you out.”

Sehun rolled his eyes. “I think they’ll just laugh their asses off.” He slammed the locker shut and started walking to our next class.

I laughed. “Come on, I’ll help you out then. And we don’t even have to get the rest of the guys.”

He scoffed before he saw Xiumin and darted off, leaving me to walk to class alone.

Sunhi’s POV

“Sunhi, is it okay if some of my cousin’s friends come eat lunch with us?” asked Victoria, sitting down next to me.

I nodded, opening my small lunch box and taking a pair of chopsticks from my lunch bag.

Sulli walked over as well, sitting down on the other side of me as usual. “How were your classes this morning?”

            “Boring.”

She smiled. “Eh, they always are. We should just text during your boring classes!”

“Don’t try to get her in trouble!” said Victoria, always the responsible one.

“Hey guys! How are you, Sunhi?” asked Krystal, walking over and sitting down in front of me. She frowned. “I heard about what happened yesterday.”

            “I’m fine.”

“But you were limping this morning!” exclaimed Luna, sitting next to Krystal all of a sudden. She always pops up at such random times.

“It’s not hurting as much anymore,” I muttered, just picking at my food.

Sulli just patted my shoulder. “That’s good!... By the way, where’s Amber?”

“Her last class was with the guys so I think she’s coming over with them,” replied Luna, taking a bite of her sandwich.

“You know, we should’ve just invited all of EXO! It’s always fun having lunch with them,” said Victoria.

“But they’re so loud! And it’s so peaceful out here!” complained Sulli.

            Everyone’s eyes widened.

“Loud? But you talk the most out of all of us!” exclaimed Luna.

“There’s something mysterious going on... I bet you like someone in EXO!” said Krystal excitedly.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure of that,” said Amber, walking over with Kai and Sehun. “Open up the circle, guys.”

Kai sat next to Victoria and Luna, while Sehun sat next to Sulli and Amber.

“So, who’s this guy that she likes?” asked Krystal, eyes wide and curious.

Amber laughed as Sulli tried to strangle Krystal. “I’ll just text you.” She pulled out her phone and texted a quick message to Krystal.

Krystal opened the message and laughed, with a little, devilish smile. “Wow, Sulli! Didn’t know you were into guys like him… Actually, I kinda could see it. It’s imaginable.”

“Who is it?” asked Victoria, smiling.

I looked back and forth between them all as Sulli seemed to suffer under the teasing.

“Sunhi! Save me from the evil people!” She grabbed my arm, hiding behind my shoulder, which looked comical considering she was so much taller than me.

I sighed. “So, who does she like?”

Everyone gaped at me for a second before laughing.

“Not you, too!” yelled Sulli, covering her face with her hands.

“Luhan?!” asked Luna, surprised. She’d grabbed Krystal’s phone and read the message while everyone laughed.

“Wait, seriously?” Victoria looked at Sulli who was flushed red from her forehead down to her neck. “How’d you know, Amber?”

“Nobody noticed her gaping at Luhan when we went to the beach a few weeks ago?” Everyone was silent. Amber laughed. “And when he’s dancing?” Nope. “Singing?” Erm… zero. Amber only shook her head. “I’ve been around dense people for too long. Thank God Sunhi’s here.” Kai rolled his eyes and just made the “crazy person” finger gesture.

I nearly smiled, barely being able to stop myself from lifting the corners of my lips slightly. It was such a classic little gesture. But I quickly pushed back on the neutral expression as soon as I realized that Amber had seen my semi-smile.

“OH MY GOD HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!” yelled Amber. “Sunhi smiled!”

“Seriously? Why are so many things happening today?” asked Luna, staring at me. “Do it again!”

I was surprised at her immediate request.

“She’s not a dog, Luna,” said Sehun, sweat dropping.

“I know that! I was just surprised!” said Luna, hitting Sehun’s head.

"I’m losing brain cells!” He pouted and sat back, folding his arms. Everyone ignored him and crowded around me, resulting in him also sitting forward a bit. He kept avoiding my eyes. Did I do something wrong to him? Maybe he's just a bit shy.

“Amber, you’re not lying right? Oh gosh, little Sunhi smiled!” Victoria hugged me, smiling brightly.

Sulli sighed and smiled, hugging me as well. I think she was glad or relieved for the small diversion from the topic of how she liked Luhan.

“Who made her smile?” asked Krystal, looking at all of us.

“You know, you can ask Sunhi. She’s right in front of you…” commented Kai.

Krystal glared at him and looked to me. “So! Who made you smile? Or what did they do?”

“Ah…” The bell ring, scaring everyone and causing them to fall back. I cleaned up my lunch and stood up. “Let’s go before we’re late.”

They all quickly began picking up after themselves, but I doubt the question left their minds. I should’ve just been able to control that damn smile. What happened to wanting death? It’s not on my mind as often. It’s still there… but it’s not as prevalent. There’s some sort of happiness or hope now. And… it’s just slowly beginning to change me.

Started with Kai's POV this time :3

Is this progressing too fast? I think I might change a few things in the previous chapters to make it more believable.

Do you guys like it so far?

Chapter 12: How I wish it was that easy to know how you feel about someone. A friend knocks you out of it and tell you , you like someone or love them even. Whenever I read stories like this, I wish I had a friend who can explain what I feel, just like any other stories, right? Seems so easy...but in reality it is not. Its harder than we thought.

What the fudge is wrong with me?! >.<

Chapter 8: Awww.. crying my all pent up pain too. T.T Can I have someone like Kai? Kai would be better. XD The part where Kai told her whenever she feels like cutting herself, call him instead, It reminds me of some japanese drama. It's a bout a teacher who observes all his students though they thought he never cares. He all knows what is happening to them. And on the day he'll admit himself to the hospital he gave every student a letter. Though some of them found it weird and didn't care but eventually it dawned to them. That they're teacher was right. And one that student is just like Sunhi. And he told her in the letter that whenever she feels like cutting herself she can call him. And she did..that helped her. That drama is amazing and true. Every chapter tells and shows the reality of whats happening. I bet everyone can relate to that drama.
I just wanted to share because it reminded me of that. And it's amazing how it affected me. One thing is for sure..you are a good writer authornim. :") You moved your readers. Make them feel how the characters are feeling.
