Light
The Second Child~Hayoung’s POV~
I awoke once more, but this time instead of being surrounded by darkness, it was light. I still wasn’t able to feel my body or hear very well… but this time I could make out some figures. There was a being with an angelic glow around him. Wow. He’s really pretty.
The angel came closer and closer to me then touched my face. “Hi Hayoung.” He said.
I looked at him in shock. I managed to make out a few words. “H-h-how do you know my name?” He chucked to himself, “Of course I would know who you are. I’m in a way, a part of you.” What does he mean when he says that he’s a part of me? I continued to stare at the being completely confused. He seemed to have noticed.
“Don’t worry,” he said, “I won’t hurt you or anything. I’m here to help you.” He took my hand and led me somewhere… I wonder where we can go when everything just looks all white to me.
Eventually, my eyes adjusted to the light and I was able to see where we were going. It looked as if… as if I were in the sky. Astonished I asked him, “Whoa! Where are we?” He whispered, “Don’t worry. Everything will make sense when we get there, and I’ll explain everything to you.”
After some walking, we reached what seemed like a little cottage. It was small, but looked cozy and friendly. As soon as we entered the cottage, I was welcomed by smells of freshly baked cookies, apple pie and some warm cream of corn soup. My mouth watered at the delicious smells, and we walked towards the wonderful aroma. Mmmhmm, the smells of all my favorite foods in one place. I wonder who took the time to make all of them?
As we got closer to the smells, I saw that there was a couple at the kitchen table sipping on some tea with a look of content on their faces. They look so familiar. Looking closely at them, I noticed that they looked like… like…
“Mom! Dad!” I cried. They turned to me and smiled, “Hello Hayoung.” I ran to them with my arms open. It’s been so long since I’ve been in their embrace. Oh how I missed them. The embrace was warm I felt as if an empty void in my heart had been filled. “How are you guys here? What happened? Where am I?” I had an endless amount of questions that I wanted answered. Mom and Dad chuckled and patted my hair saying, “Oh dear, we have so much to catch up on.”
We broke the embrace and sat down. I grabbed a cookie and began to munch on it. Mmhmm, so yummy. It tastes just as I remember. It brings back… so many memories. Then I began to remember everything that had happened and unknowingly began to cry.
“There, there” Mom cooed trying to ease me. “Do you want to rest a bit before we tell you everything?” she asked. I shook my head. “No, I probably should know sooner. I mean, I’ll have to learn of everything sooner or later anyways and I’ve rested a lot before I was brought here.” She nodded in unders
