ZE:A - Watch Out

The day after the ceremony, the aliens decided to take you to the beach, since you haven’t been to one since you were on Mato.

“Come on in, Jinnie!” Daehyun called from the water.  Himchan threw an inflatable ball at him and it hit right in the head, but Daehyun didn’t show any expression of the hit.

“Why am I always the last on in?” you mumbled as you began to pull off your shirt, leaving you only in a bikini top and a pair of loose shorts.

There was a wolf-whistle behind you and you could feel your cheeks flare up. It felt uncomfortable to expose yourself like this, especially when people gave you that kind of attention.

Youngjae’s eyes transformed into slits and he glared at the group of males that had passed you.

“What are you looking at?” you asked him as you walked down into the water. Youngjae shook his head and smiled at you, “Nothing.”

“HYOJIN!” Zelo called from a distance. You spun around and saw Zelo running down to the water, holding an inflatable ring. The ones you could use when you were riding a water slide.

Zelo handed you the inflatable ring and you quickly climbed up on it. “This is awesome!” you exclaimed as you bounced up and down slightly on the ring.

Suddenly, you felt someone splash a big amount of water on your back. You gasped and turned around. Daehyun and Jongup were looking away while whistling innocently. A little bit too innocently.

“You peasants!” you stuck your foot into the water and began to kick furiously, making water splash on the two aliens.

“Hey, jagiya~” Zelo’s sweet voice cooed behind you. Before you had the chance to turn around, someone pushed you off the ring and you fell into the water.

As your head hit the surface, you glared at Zelo and Youngjae.  “You’re dead.”

“Oh, I’m so scared.” Youngjae mocked fear. “What are you gonna do? Hit us with your hair?” Both Zelo and Youngjae cackled and high-fived each other.

You scoffed with a smirk. “Chan-chan, Yongguk~” you called.

The two oldest aliens stopped wrestling and turned to look at you. You pointed at Youngjae, Jongup, Daehyun and Zelo. “They’re being meanies.”  

They didn’t question your motive, and just began to run towards the younger aliens. “YOO YOUNGJAE! JUNG DAEHYUN! CHOI JUNHONG! MOON JONGUP!” the roared.

The four younger aliens gulped. “Revenge will be mine!” Youngjae said before he and the others ran up on land, Yongguk and Himchan chasing after them.

When the aliens had calmed down, you headed up the beach’s local restaurant.

“I want a hamburger!” Zelo exclaimed.

“Me too!”

“I want a pizza.”

“I could kill for some chicken wings.”

You faked a sniffle as you pulled out your wallet. It contained a few bills and you slowly pulled them out, only to have someone put their hand on top of yours.

“Don’t. We’ll pay.” Yongguk said and pulled out his own wallet. Since when did he have money? “But-“you protested, but Yongguk put his index finger over your lips. “We’ll pay.” He sweetly smiled, then told the cashier what you wanted, then payed.

You got the food and headed back to the beach.  “It smells delicious.” Daehyun drooled over his plate, filled with fries.

You sat down on a quilt you had laid out. “Ahh~” Himchan sang as he held out a chicken wing to you. You chuckled and opened your mouth, popping the chicken in your mouth.

“Aw, so sweet. I hate sweet.” Yongguk said and held out a fry from his hamburger plate. “Guys, I have arms and hands. I can eat myself.” You said and took a bite from your hamburger.

“I know. But still.” Youngjae shrugged and took a sip from his coke. Daehyun happily wolfed down his food and patted his still flat stomach.  “Man that was some good food.”

“Don’t eat too fast or you’ll get a aching stomach.” You nagged and popped a French fry in your mouth. “Aw, my baby cares for me.” He pecked your cheek and you felt them heat up.

“Am I the only one who feels a little hot?” you asked and fanned yourself with your hand.  Himchan smirked, “You are hot, princess.”

You sent him a glare, “Are you drunk or something?”

“Yes, love drunk.”

Zelo made a face, “Hyung is so cheesy.” You nodded, “I agree.”

 After you’ve eaten the food, you all decided to sunbath. You took this opportunity to take a quick nap.

The sun was warming and you felt really comfortable, lying on your towel with your arms spread out and hands buried in the sand.

“Hyojin.” Someone whispered closely in your ear. You jumped up in surprise and clutched your heart. “For the love of God, Jongup.” You said, still in shock.

“Sorry.” Jongup sheepishly apologized. He was lying on his stomach next to you and his face was where your head used to be lying.

You lay back down and closed your eyes, ready to take that nap that Jongup had disturbed.

“Hyojin.” Jongup poked your arm. You peeked one eye open, “What is it, Jongup?”

For one moment, he looked nervous. “Can I-erhm-sleep next to you?”

You chuckled. This alien was so innocent. You nodded, “You don’t have to ask that, Jongup.” You closed your eye.

Jongup’s face lit up and he rolled over so that he was lying on his back and scooted closer to you, your arms touching. 

A small smile formed on your lips. Jongup slowly reached out and took your hand, intertwining your fingers.

Even though you weren’t aware of it, Jongup was gazing at you lovingly from the corner of his eye. Just being with you like this made his heart flutter. All the small actions, all the loving looks from you were enough to make his day perfect. Just watching you.

Gently, he rolled over on his stomach and caressed your cheek. Your breathing was even and he knew you were sleeping.  You mumbled something in your sleep and your lips slightly parted.

He hesitated for a bit, but then quickly leaned in and pecked your lips quickly. There was no reaction from you and he breathed out.

That must’ve looked weird. But he regretted nothing.

“Hey, we should go watch a movie sometime.” Daehyun suggested as you were walking home. You raised a brow, “Really? What kind of movie?”

He shrugged. To be honest, he only suggested that because he had been spending less time with you ever since they arrived on earth and he hated it. The only thing he wanted was to have to private time with you.

You chuckled, “Okay. The summer’s long, I’m sure we can catch one until it ends.”

Daehyun smiled at you and bent down to kiss your temple.

“Hey, what’s going on back there?” Yongguk asked. “Nothing, DAD.” You emphasized the word ‘dad’ and rolled your eyes.

“I’m not your dad, I am your husband, yeobo.”

“Yeah, in your dreams.” Himchan snorted.

“Oh~Mom and dad are fighting again.” You and Zelo teased. Daehyun laughed and ruffled your hair.
