The Past
The Only Light I See
Weeks passed, Yuri finally could go back to school. She missed her school, or to be honest she missed Tiffany. They could only talked through the phone for these past few days. Not seeing each other was kinda nightmare for Yuri. And for Tiffany that was no fun, she missed Yuri too, honestly.
"so, how's your relationship going, Yul?"
"relationship?"
"yes, with Tiffany.."
"what? We're not in relationship, Soo.."
"you two are getting closer, doesn't it mean you're dating her?"
"of course it doesn't mean like that, don't talk non sense, Soo. She's straight.."
"anything is possible, she could possibly turn gay.."
"yeah, but not for me.."
"who knows?"
"aissh, stop talking about this.." with that, Yuri started to walk away
She planned to go back to class but stopped when she was passing in front of dancing class. She peeked through a tiny glass in the door and longing built up inside her chest automatically. How she missed to be there, dancing freely with her friends. But she had to accepted the fact that she couldn't dance anymore for the rest of her life.
Tiffany on the other hand, looking at Yuri in a distant. She could see sadness in the tanned girl's eyes, and she was so guilty because of it. She then hesitantly approached the taller girl, and the later seemed noticed her presence.
"hey, Yul.." the eyesmile girl greeted awkwardly
"hey, Tiff.." the other girl smiled
Tiffany glanced inside the room, she saw Hyoyeon and the others were practicing. Yuri noticed the uncomfortable look on the shorter girl's eyes.
"Yuri, i'm sor-"
"hey, what about we skip the next classes?" Yuri cut off, not wanting Tiffany to apologize, she knew the latter would blame herself
"skip classes? But you're just back to school, and it's been only 5 days, and you want to skip classes?" Tiffany chuckled
"yeah, i'm kinda boring.." Yuri lied
"okay then, we better go now before teachers catch us.."
"alright, let's go.." Yuri happily pulled Tiffany's hand, and left the school soon
"i used to come here whenever i'm feeling down.." Yuri said as they sat on a bench near Han River
"no wonder, it's a good place to freshen up our mind.." Tiffany said simply and Yuri nodded
"so?" they said at the same and laughed together
"you're so cute, Tiffany.." Yuri complimented
"thank you.." the latter blushed
"if you wanna know about her more, then you should ask her personally, Fany-ah.."
"is it okay for her, Soo?"
"of course, she's kind, she'll tell you everything you want to know.."
"i like this place too, but i rarely come here, because i don't like being alone.." Tiffany said, staring at the view
"why?" Yuri turned her head to the other girl
"i would remember my family when i'm alone, and it would make me sad, because i know they're not around me, we live apart, they're in America and i'm here in Korea.. "
"it must be hard for you, but at least you still have them as your family.."
"yeah, right....and what about your family?"
Yuri sighed, "Yoona is actually not my biological sister, her parents adopted me when doctor said that Yoona's mother couldn't get pregnant. But if that so, Yoona and me were like real siblings. I love her like my own sister, and she respects me as well.."
"i-i'm sorry.." Tiffany said in concern, even though she already knew about this but she wanted to hear it from Yuri
"it's okay. Yoona is actually a rich girl, she must took an expensive car to go anywhere. But Yoona chose to stay with me in apartment and living a life like an ordinary people.." Yuri smiled
"mind to tell me why you two stay in apartment?"
"we ran from house, Yoona suggested me to do it.."
"and why did you two run?"
"Mr.Im hates me, It started when Mrs.Im suddenly got pregnant and gave a birth to Yoona. Since then, he planned to dumped me but Mrs.Im didn't agree. I've always been ignored by him, he never looked at me even once, he always hit me when i made a mistake. Glad, Mrs.Im and Yoona treated me like their own family.." Yuri smiled bitterly
*Flashback*
Yuri came home after school, she was so happy because she was chosen as a delegation for dance competition. She planned to tell her parents about that. She looked for her mother but the older woman wasn't in the house, and she found her father talked with Yoona.
"appa, i got a perfect score for my exam and it's math!!" Yoona said happily
"really? That's great, Yoona. I'm proud of you.." Mr.Im smiled sweetly at his daughter
"thank you, appa.." Yoona smiled than left the room
Yuri then came inside and approached her father with smiled plastered on her face. Mr.Im on the other hand just looked at her coldly then back to work.
"appa, i was chosen as a delegation for dance competition.." Yuri told her father happily but the latter just nodded, ignoring her, Yuri's smile faded immadiately
"w-would you come to watch me?" Yuri asked, almost cried
"no.." Mr.Im answered coldly
"okay, i know you're busy.." with that, Yuri left the room, crying silently
"life is unfair sometimes, but i know there must be something good behind all these.." Yuri said without looking at Tiffany
"you're right.." Tiffany agreed
Tiffany then moved closer to the tanned girl and held her hand, squeezing it gently. Yuri turned her head to look at her and smiled warmly. Tiffany then rested her head on the other girl's shoulder, and the latter rested her head on the eyesmile girl's head. They closed their eyes at the same time as they enjoyed their moment.
