“Would you like to talk about it?” I asked humbly as I tried comforting him. I don’t usually comfort guys with hugs but this guy needs it. DESPERATELY. I ended our not-too-long-embrace and linked my arm unto him. I pulled him towards the car and opened the door for him. “We’ll talk inside.” I said giving him a slight smile. Kris went inside so I closed the door for him. I walked to the other side of the car and joined him inside. Kris was holding unto the steering wheel again, but this time he looked calmer. I think he’s trying to organize his thoughts. “I chose my love for music over the riches I’m supposed to receive. You see, I chose to be normal and my father didn’t like it. And until now, he still hates me for living a normal life. Do you think it was a stupid decision?” Kris asked looking at me directly with his brown eyes. He looked so confused. “Well, my grandparents used to tell me that when you have a dream and you want it to come true, you’re supposed to do something about it. I think that’s what you’re trying to do and I don’t think there’s something wrong with it.” “I’m afraid my dad wants me to pursue his dreams not mine.” He said lowering his head down. “Do you hate him?” I don’t know if it was stupid of me to ask but who knows?! Maybe Kris doesn’t hate his father. “I hate him when he tries to interfere with my decisions in life but when I remember the days of my childhood, I tend to forget everything. You see, my dad and I used to hang out everyday playing Lego, cars, and helicopters. They’re unforgettable and precious to me so I really try not to hate him totally.” “Have you tried explaining to him your story?” “Yes, I always do but he won’t listen to me.” I think Kris’s dad loved him too much he wanted to give him the best. It’s just that he doesn’t know that the best thing he wants to give doesn’t make Kris happy. “How long have you been living dependently?” Curious girl here! “Well … after I graduated college that was the time I found courage to tell my parents what I really wanted. After a month, I moved.” I think it was a really courageous thing to do. I mean Kris grew up from a rich family and he probably didn’t know how it felt to live normally like average people. He must’ve gone through a lot so he could adjust to our world. “Don’t let your dad get in the way. I mean you already started reaching out to your dreams, so don’t stop. I think he’ll understand you in time. You just have to wait.” “You really think so?” “Yeah. Just be patient because miracles could happen anytime.” He smiled at me and thanked me for tonight. “I’ll take you home now. It’s getting late.” ::: After our mini counseling, Kris drove me back to my apartment. He parked the car in front of my apartment building and helped me with my seatbelt. That wasn’t really necessary but Kris is a gentleman and he does this all the time. I can tell. Because it’s like, it’s always automatic. “Thanks for tonight Sun Hee. Your kind and precious words really calmed me down.” Oh I’m flattered. I can be a good counselor and I didn’t know! Wow. “
