We had a good time

Karate Kids

Nara’s POV

“Should we go shopping?  I need some new clothes.” I slipped my hand in Hyunseung's and put my head on his shoulder.  He squeezed my hand and looked down at me.  I stuck out my lip.

“If you want,” he said with a smile and we walked to shopping center together.

"Where do you want to go, m'lady?" he asked.

I looked around and spotted my favorite store. “Let’s go in there!”  I pulled him over and sat him at one of the couches in front of the changing rooms.  I dashed off to the sale racks.

Thirty minutes later, I came back with a mountain of clothes in my arms.  As I approached him, I balanced the clothes and held up a cute blue skirt. “Do you think I would look good in this?”

He tried not to laugh at the pile of clothes almost hiding my face. "I don’t know, try it on!”
After 20 minutes, I came out of the changing room with a complete outfit on, including the blue skirt.  Hyunseung looked up sleepily- he must have been taking a nap while I was changing.

I spun around for him to see all angles. “What do you think?” I asked.

He clapped his hands. “Gorgeous!”

After three hours of shopping, Hyunseung bought me three shirts, two dresses, a skirt, 4 pairs of shorts, and a pair of flats.  I insisted I paid, but he refused and paid for me.  As we left the store, he grabbed the bags from me and held them in one hand and took my hand in the other.

"Well then, since I couldn't pay for my clothes," I nudged him in the ribs,  "then I shall pay for lunch."

"There's no stopping you is there?  Well I have the perfect place in mind," he smiled.

We arrived at a very luxurious restaurant.  The waiter seated us at a table next to the window- a perfect view for the sunny day.  We ordered steaks, grilled salmon, fried chicken and salad.  We talked the whole time about our lives back home and things we needed to do before we went back.  Hyunseung ordered strawberry shortcake for dessert and we fed each other the strawberries.

I sipped the last of my delicious iced tea. “I’m so full!”

Hyunseung smiled. “Let’s go to Namsan Tower next."

I set my empty glass next to my plate. “But it’s kind of far from here."

“If we take a taxi, it only takes 30 minutes,” he winked.

“Really?  Then let’s go,” I said.

He stood up. "Sounds like a plan," he said.

I followed him out of the restaurant.  "Wait, what about the bill?" I looked back.

Hyunseung gently took my arm. "It's taken care of," he said.

"But I was going to pay..."

He sighed with a smile. "I reserved that restaurant last week, I paid for it then."

I frowned.  I turned toward the street.

“Hey, hey.” I stopped walking and looked back at him.

“Yes?”

“That’s not how a couple should be, we're supposed to be like this.” He put his arm over my shoulders.  A smile slowly formed on my face and I blushed.  We caught a taxi and drove to the tower.  There was a lot traffic- it took us an hour and half just to get there.  The time went by quickly as we talked the whole way there.  I confessed to Hyunseung that I'd never been to Namsan Tower before.  He looked shocked, but put his hand on my knee and told me he was honored to be the first person to take me there.  I blushed again.

When we got there, we took the elevator all the way up to the 60th floor.

“I thought there were 63 floors,” I said.  Hyunseung laughed. "What are you laughing at?” I pouted.

“You go to the 60th floor and then walk up to the 63rd.” He ruffled my hair, still laughing.

“Oh…” I pouted and tried to fix my hair.

He took my hands off my hair and held them.  He leaned over to my ear. “You’re so cute,” he whispered.

I pulled my hands away and playfully hit his arm.  We both shared big smiles.

“So we have to walk now?” I asked.

“Yes!  Come on!” He grabbed my hand and pulled me up the three sets of stairs.

I took a deep breath of fresh air. “This place is fabulous!” I walked over to the railing and gasped.  I turned around. “I can see everything from here!”

Hyunseung smiled. “Nara, come here.”  I took his hand and we walked over to another part of the Tower.

“Can we get a lock please?” I looked at him confused.  He smiled at me and took the lock from the salesperson.

I realized what this was. “Are we gonna write our names on this?” I asked excitedly.

He smiled shyly. “Yes, you write first” He handed me a sharpie and the lock.

I wrote my name on the right side. “Nara Kwon.”  I handed them back to him

“Hyunseung Shim,” he wrote on the left.  He paused before he wrote in the middle, “Raseung <3.”

I took the lock and examined it. “What’s Raseung?"

“Nara and Hyunseung... Raseung." He looked at me and then at the lock.

I bit my lip to keep myself from smiling like a fool.  “Let’s lock it on the very very top” I said.  He smiled and we walked to the other locks.  He kissed it and locked it one.

I hugged him while we stared at our lock among the others.  My ear was pressed to his chest and I could hear his heart beating.  My heart skipped a beat.  I looked up at him. “Aigoo... Let’s go home?”

He kissed my forehead and said, “Anything you want.”

Hyunmi’s POV

Kwangmin and I were sitting around in our room.  “Hey Hyunmi?" I looked up from my book. "Uhm... You wanna go get some coffee?”

“Yeah, sure!  You like Starbucks?” I asked.

Kwangmin smiled. "Sounds perfect."

“You sit here, I’ll go order.  What do you want?” he asked when we got there.

I sat down at one of the tables. “Uhm... could you get me a white mocha?"

Kwangmin smiled.  "Sure!"

He came back after a minute.  "They gotta wait, they're kind of packed."

I looked up from my book. "Okay!"

Kwangmin took out some paper and a pencil.  I watched him over my book as he concentrated on his work.

“What are you drawing?” I asked casually.

“Uhm... nothing."  He kept working.

"Kwangmin?"

He looked up.  "Oh, looks like the coffee's ready.  Be right back." He stuffed his project into his bag and went up to get our coffees.

I looked over my book at his bag.  Could I see inside it before he came back?  No, probably not.  I saw Kwangmin coming back and I hurriedly put my nose back in my book.

"Here you go." He handed me my mocha.  He sat down carefully, staring at me.

"Thanks..." I said and stared back, confused.

Embarrassed, he looked down for his bag and took out his project again.

I put my book down. “Ya, what is it?"

“Can't tell you,” he said.  He reached for his bag and pulled out some colored pencils.

“Now colored pencils?  What is it?” I whined.  I looked over the table to see it, but he was too quick.  He hid it under his arm.

“Ya, please?  I want to see it,” I begged.

He shook his head. “No, it’s personal.”

“Please?”

“No, no, no, no, no!" He did the dance move to "No, no, no, no, no" in SNSD's "Gee."

I stuck out my tongue. “Eww... and fine!”  I took my mocha and was about to drink it when I was a sharpie picture of a pikachu. "Aww, look at this Kwangmin!  Did you get this on your cup?" I showed him my cup.

Kwangmin looked up.  "Oh, no, I don't have one."  He went back to drawing.

I took a sip from it.  "Well I think it's cute."  I examined my cup more.  There was a little note written on it too.  "I <3 you! ~A Friend"

"OMG, Kwangmin!  This is the cutest!  Look!"  I shoved the cup in his face again.  He got a little smile on his face.  "This is the cutest thing that's ever happened to me!"  I gasped.  "Who would've done this for me?" I looked around and then back at Kwangmin. "What if it was a Starbucks person?" I whispered.

Kwangmin smiled and shook his head.  "You think a Starbucks person would do that?" I pouted.  “Let’s go home now,” he said and ruffled my hair as he stood up.  He gathered up his project and materials and put them back in his bag.

When we got back to the hotel, it was about time to go to bed.  After we were both changed, we sat on the bed to listen to music.  Kwangmin looked over at me. “Hey, Hyunmi?"

“Yes?”

He reached over the side of the bed and handed me a rolled up piece of paper. “For you,” he said shyly.

“What’s this?"  I asked, but he had gotten off the bed and gone to the bathroom.  I opened the paper and I saw a girl dressed in a Pikachu-design dress holding a Pikachu.

“Huh?” I tilted my head confused.  But then I realized- the girl was me!  I opened my mouth to say something, but I couldn't think of anything to say.  A smile grew on my face.

Kwangmin poked his head out of the bathroom.  "Do you like it?" he asked shyly.  I nodded, the smile big as ever.  "I- I was just bored...” he messed with the hair on the back of his head.

I set the picture down and walked over to Kwangmin, still on the bathroom threshold.  "I love it Kwangmin," I said and hugged him.  He was surprised, but relaxed and hugged me back.
