Mother Knows Best
Precious Memories
Six Years Ago.
You let your hands fall down to your sides as you gulped down the tears that were lodged in your throat. You didn’t want to believe your parents. You didn’t want to say goodbye to Kim Jong In. Your step- mother sighed at the sight of your useless weeping and shook her head in disappointment.
She didn’t understand your feelings, being youngest and the only girl in the family, she thought that you were over reacting. She pressed a smile and patted your head lightly. You looked up at her, eyes glistening with tears.
“You know,” She started “It’s not like he’ll forget you. Who can forget someone like you? You’re probably the only 12 year old with thighs like yours. So thick”
You bit your inner lip to stop yourself from trembling harder. How can she say something like that? You wiped your tears and pushed away from her. You began to walk away from her and headed toward the door.
“Yah, where do you think you’re going?” She asked and crossed her arms at you. You stopped and pivot your foot making you face her.
“I’m going to say goodbye to Jong In.” You mumbled as you wiped away some more tears falling down your eyes. You couldn’t help but feel utterly useless compared to the woman in front of you.
She chuckled at you and shook her head again. “What makes you think he want to say goodbye, hun?”
“He’s my best friend, of course he would want to say goodbye.” You spat back at her. Tightening your knuckles, you couldn’t help but feel anger towards your step mom. She walked towards you slowly, smirking along the way.
“You think he’s you’re best friend? You think he actually likes being with you out in public?” Her eyes were cold as her heart. “Guess again, Miss _______. He’s only being sympathetic.”
You shook your head, she was wrong. Kim Jong In loved being with you because he didn’t care about your appearance, he didn’t care about that stuff. You two were inseparable .
