Frustration

One path to Heaven

Seunghyun told him all about this Park, how they were friends in high school, regardless of how crazy the man might’ve been. Because Seungri was too nice to other people and he had been too nice to this man as well. Jiyong listened intently, trying to remember everything he said and struggled to understand the whole situation. Apparently Park had valued their friendship and given Seungri, and sometimes Seunghyun as well, many benefits when it came to getting drugs. They were nice to each other, you could almost call it somewhat good friends. However, that was not the case. All of them were aware of the fact that if any of the rules were to be broken, they would be punished, friend or not. That was why Seunghyun preferred getting drugs from people he didn’t know quite that well.

“So…” The angel frowned into his palm, squeezing the middle finger of the hand he was still massaging. “What will happen now? We’re so far away from home.” The word ‘home’ made Seunghyun smile, he loved that the blonde thought of his small house as a home.

“Well, how long do you think we have, Seungri?” Seunghyun sighed and turned his head to look at his younger friend who settled down on the couch next to him again, having locked the door and found a glass of water. Seungri’s face showed that he was thinking, eyebrows knitted together and gaze fixed on the glass he was holding.

“The last time he threatened me was four days ago, I believe,” Seungri counted the days in his head. “He said I should be ready with the money by this weekend so I guess he’ll start looking for me… tomorrow.” Seunghyun was suddenly a bit worried about his own house. They might come looking for Seungri at his place, thinking he’s hiding there, and they might just rip his house apart. As if on cue, Jiyong sensed his concern and squeezed his hand with a smile.

“Don’t worry, it’s going to be alright. We just have to endure for a few days.” he smiled back at Jiyong, thankful for the comforting words that he so much wanted to believe.

“Then he’ll definitely be here tomorrow,” he spoke while in deep thought, his attention back on his younger friend. “I don’t really have a plan… I mean we could run, but I don’t think that would do us any good in the end.”

“At least I’m not alone anymore, thanks to you guys!” Seungri’s voice was a bit too energetic, making Seunghyun look at him like someone had just hit him in the head. “No really, I was a bit scared and worried for a while there, but now I feel a lot safer.” Jiyong smiled at his words, thinking their friend was really a good man. He startled them both by reaching his free hand out to Seungri, gesturing for him to grab it. Seungri did a bit hesitantly and Seunghyun wondered what the angel was up to.

“I’ll take care of it,” his calm voice sounded when the three of them were connected by their hands. “Just bring them all in here and I can help.”

“How?” Seunghyun definitely didn’t like this, the angel didn’t even have anything to do with Park and his men.

“I have some powers, remember?” Jiyong grinned at them, trying to reassure his friends. “You just need to be safe while I work my magic.” The grin on his face was mischievous and Seunghyun kind of liked it although it didn’t overpower his worry.

“Stop worrying, hyung,” he turned towards Seungri, forgetting that while linked like this, the younger man could also feel his emotions. With a defeated sigh he lowered his head slightly.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m pretty strong you know, Seunghyun.” His melodic laugh sounded in his head and he couldn’t help but smile back. Suddenly Seungri’s expression turned and he let go of his hand like he’d been burned.

“Wow. Ok, hyungs, get a room.” He stood up and put his glass away. Seunghyun rolled his eyes at him but punched him in the shoulder anyway.

“We already do, we’ll see you tomorrow.” Without much care he pulled the angel along into the bedroom, leaving Seungri sulking outside. He had said he was taking the bed, and after driving this far, he wasn’t about to take his words back. Jiyong laughed soundlessly at their antics, thinking how nice it was to have friends like that.

“Please don’t do anything rated in there without changing the sheets, you’ll traumatize me!” Seungri called after them, knowing he could never win against Seunghyun. The younger man settled down on the couch for the night after knowing he’d successfully embarrassed both of them. Sure enough the atmosphere turned pretty awkward inside the room after the doors were closed. Jiyong guessed that when Seungri said ‘rated’ he meant the stuff they’ve done before, and he couldn’t help but blush at the thought.

“That stupid guy,” The taller muttered as he removed his thick clothing, feeling sleep nudge his body forward. It made the angel smile again, although still red, and he tried to mimic what the other man was doing. Though, Jiyong wasn’t wearing as much clothes so he ended up crawling into bed with just his pants because Seunghyun refused to let him take them off. Just seeing his upper body was enough to get his mind reeling and he groaned before turning on his side, away from the angel for a minute to calm himself. If he’d seen the expression on Jiyong’s face he would see how hurt the angel was. He wondered if he did something wrong and reached over his waist to grab his hand, thinking it might be inappropriate to touch him anywhere else at the moment. He could feel his body stiffen underneath him and he bit his lower lip, worry seeping through their bond.

“What’s wrong?” Somehow he couldn’t feel any anger coming from Seunghyun and that made him even more curious.

“Just… get under the cover please.” Jiyong did as he was told and when Seunghyun heard the rustling of sheets stop, he knew it was safe enough to turn around. Although the adorable image presented before him was almost enough to make him jump the angel. He was on his side, covered all the way up to his chin and Seunghyun couldn’t help but sigh and settled down as well. His hand settled between them and Jiyong grabbed it almost automatically.

“Will you really be alright tomorrow?” It was difficult to not ask one last time before he could sleep. His slumber might not be peaceful but at least he could hold on to Jiyong’s reassuring words.

“Of course.” It was all he needed and he smiled, scooting a bit closer to the smaller body. He gazed into the blue eyes, loving how they searched his as well. When he couldn’t take the distance anymore he used his other hand to cup his cheek and tilted his head backwards before kissing him softly. He thought it was sad that the angel couldn’t fall asleep together with him but he planned on making up for that while he was awake. Jiyong eyelids fluttered against his cheek and Seunghyun’s chest tightened when he could feel all the love the angel had for him. He only hoped Jiyong could feel his.

He kissed him one more time, a little deeper as he explored the sweet mouth with his tongue. It was familiar and he knew exactly what to do to get the angel’s knees to weaken. Their tongues tangled together and he unconsciously pulled the angel, his angel, flush against his body. It felt great when Jiyong clutched the fabric of his shirt behind his back and he could feel his quickened breath against his face.

They separated for the last time and Seunghyun couldn’t help but tug on that delicious, plump lower lip that the angel always worried with his teeth. He kissed his way around the corner of his mouth and nipped on his jaw lovingly, just reveling in the whimpers coming from the angel.

“Seunghyun…”

“Mmm?” A hand came to card through his short hair and he closed his eyes at the feeling, tiredness washing over him.

“You should sleep…” Jiyong’s voice was very unconvincing but he decided to listen anyway and planted one more kiss on his lips before pulling him against his chest, arms resting on his small waist. The sight of the sweet smile before him lulled him to sleep and it didn’t take long before he was completely gone, dreaming about a totally different world.

Only a few hours passed before Jiyong carefully extracted himself from the comforting bubble that was Seunghyun’s arms. He could sense the pain in his chest striking him again and he didn’t want to wake the other man if he were to move too much. Somehow he needed to get to the bathroom, he figured he could hide in there until he felt the pain subside for now. However he didn’t get further than out of the room before he had to clutch his chest and with unsteady feet he tripped and fell.

“Mm-ah, Jiyong?” With a surprised voice, Seungri sleepily sat up from the couch. Jiyong panicked slightly, trying to move his body despite the pain but it didn’t help at all and he winced, somewhat glad he didn’t have a voice because he would surely scream.

“What’s wrong?” The younger man was by his side now, almost lifting him up but Jiyong stopped him.

“Don’t-” He tried to breathe slowly, knowing that it probably would pass soon. His voice was strained though, and he knew Seungri felt whatever he was feeling because he looked completely taken aback. “I’m fine, please be quiet and don’t wake Seunghyun.” It was a plea, he didn’t want to cause any more trouble but he knew now that he owed Seungri the truth about his pain. He couldn’t lie, it was impossible.

“You don’t look fine,” he said after Seungri helped him over to the couch. It was his pained expression that gave it away, he knew. “Jiyong, what can I do?” he was whispering now and the blonde was thankful for the gesture. He couldn’t help but smile a crooked smile before clutching his chest as if it would help ease his pain.

“Will painkillers help? I can get you some if you wa-” Seungri was about to get up but Jiyong grabbed his hand to prevent him from leaving. After looking into the angel’s eyes he settled back down and waited for him to speak.

“Don’t worry, it will pass in a few minutes,” A small strangled noise escaped his throat after he spoke but he could feel his body starting to relax.

“Then tell me what’s wrong.” His younger friend demanded now and he leaned back against the soft cushions. After another moment he shifted his gaze back to Seungri. It took him about ten minutes to explain everything and afterwards he was surprised to see the younger man with watery eyes. He’d told him everything about his mission and how angels disappear after fulfilling it. Seungri was looking down in his lap, obviously trying to let the words sink in. The angel was confused, he wanted to see his smile again, not his tears. With a sniff he finally spoke, voice unfamiliarly serious.

“You know what the worst part is, Jiyong?” His voice broke at the end of the sentence, along with Jiyong’s heart after hearing it. He kept his gaze steady, waiting patiently.

“That we won’t remember you,” his voice was back to a broken whisper. “After all you’ve done, after all this time… It would be impossible to forget you. It would be too painful to forget you. But still, here you are telling me that we will forget you whether we want to or not…” Now Jiyong was crying as well, his heart now hurting at the realization. Of course he knew, he knew how much it hurt but he was never prepared to let Seungri know like this.

“It’s evil, what you are doing, have you thought about Seunghyun-hyung at all?” Jiyong tried to wipe his tears but failed as new ones kept falling.

“I-I’m sorry, I know. I’m so sorry.” He shook his head in defeat, letting go of Seungri’s hand and covering his face with his palms. It seemed like this was the one and only crime he would never be able to escape. He wondered if it was possible to just let everything go right here and now and go wallow in his own self-pity. But he knew that he couldn’t do that, Seunghyun was too important. He had to finish what he started and if that meant he was supposed to suffer for it, it couldn’t be helped. Though he let the tears fall for a while, even as Seungri’s assuring hand came to rest on his shoulder. It was comforting, his presence, and Jiyong wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

“I know, Jiyong, you will be the one that has to suffer the most, I’m sorry you will have to remember all of this after it ends, that you have to watch us live without knowing you ever existed.” Although he knew this from the start, having the words thrown at him like this hurt even more. It hurt, his heart hurt and his body shook. Seungri embraced him comfortingly and Jiyong accepted it completely.

“Thank you…” He was grateful, he was sad and most of all he was happy that Seungri didn’t hate him. He wanted to have good memories from him that he could keep forever in his heart.
