Bubble Line, Let Me Set Up My World!
The Girl from the Bubble Tea ShopBGM: Super Junior’s Donghae and Kyuhyun feat Han Jimin - Happy Bubble
Summer 2010
"Argh!!! Why is it so hot in Seoul?!?"
It was only 9:12 AM, but you were already sweating like crazy. You have been walking along the streets of Apgujeong for over an hour now and you still haven't accomplished your goals yet. You mentally cursed yourself for deciding to spend the summer looking for a part-time job when you can just watch television and laze around your air-conditioned home.
But it's better than spending the summer alone, right?
The summer heat was already getting the best of you, so you decided to take a break from job hunting and look for something to drink. Upon arriving at Rodeo Street, you noticed a sign for a bubble tea shop and suddenly craved for a cup of wintermelon milk tea. With lots and lots of pearls and crystals.
You quicken your pace for a bit and strode towards the quirky little shop sandwiched between a girl-friendly shoe boutique and an antique-looking coffee shop.
A smile crept on your face as you reached the entrance to Happy Bubble Tea Shop and it's not because you were just one wintermelon away from finally satisfying your thirst. The reason your eyes lit up are the two words that were written on the sign outside of the shop:
HELP WANTED.
You pushed the front door open and let yourself in.
The store smelled faintly of tapioca pearls. You took another sniff and caught a hint of honeydew, chocolate, and taro. The bubble tea shop is quite small, but it sure looks much bigger inside than it is outside. You looked around to familiarize yourself with what might soon become your working place.
The left wall was plastered with too much paper and posters that it’s hard to tell what the color of the paint underneath them is. White? Purple? Orange?
The weird thing, however, is that there were two foreign-looking girls taking pictures of the little pieces of colored paper stuck on the wall. They were looking at them as intently as you would a word search puzzle. “I wonder what’s so special about that wall…” you thought to yourself.

As if reading your thoughts, one of the girls suddenly squealed, “Look! It’s Minho oppa’s signature!!!” Her friend widened her eyes and frantically asked in English, “Oh my God!!! Where?!? Where?!?” as if she was going to die if she fails to find it within the next five seconds. The other girl pointed to a piece of white paper and soon the two of them started spazzing as if there’s no one else in the room.
You squinted your eyes a bit to take a closer look at the pieces of colored paper on the wall and tried to read some of the messages written on it. Ah, signatures of K-pop idols…
