I kept talking and he listened to me carefully. He didn’t make a sound or talk. He just watched me and nodded his head.

“Well…you know Baekhyun, right? My um…boyfriend?”

He slightly nodded his head.

“On Valentine’s Day…I-I saw him” I gulped down the saliva in my throat and forced myself to talk as tears rushed down my cheek. “He told me he didn’t have time on that day. He said h-he had to go to work, so I couldn’t see him after school.  But, when I was about to leave I saw him k-k-kissing another girl. A-a girl with long, black, straight hair. I think s-she was in our English class.”

Luhan wiped away the tears on my check. He did it so softly, like I was fragile. Like I was gonna break any moment now, and he smiled.

I didn’t know why I was telling him about what happened. Maybe I just needed someone to talk to. My parents are in Japan, I have no relatives here, and my friends were at a different school. They went to Seoul Arts High School, the school I didn’t get into. Right now, Luhan is the only one I could talk to, I guess.

He listened till the end and I had realized we already passed the park. I looked onto the ground.

Suddenly, I felt arms wrapping around my shoulders and I turned to see Luhan hugging me. I was shocked and surprised at the same time. He whispered in my ear.

“It’s okay, you can cry. I’ll protect you from now on.” He sounded like an angel sent from heaven. I couldn’t stop my tears from pouring onto his shirt, making it soggy.

“I’m s-sorry. Your shirt’s w-wet now.”

“Shhhh…”
