I walked home, my hair and clothes thoroughly soaked. As soon as I got to my house, I pulled out my key, slid it into the keyhole, and unlocked the door. I dropped my bag down while closing the door at the same time. I quickly shook of my shoes and ran to my bedroom not caring about how wet the floor would become.

I didn’t care, I just didn’t… I took the blanket on my bed, wrapped myself in it, and sat behind my closed door. It didn’t even matter if the door was closed or not. My parents went on a trip to Japan one week ago and didn’t even tell me. I only found out the day after they departed from the airport.

Where were my parents when I needed them the most?

My bedroom lights were dimmed. I kept crying, not able to hold my tears in.

Why? Why did it have to happen? I kept crying until I fell asleep.
