First Date

Being Loved Isn't Always a Good Thing

So I ended up taking longer than usual to write this chapter cause I actually looked up places to go on a date in Korea and I actually researched this stuff. And the last chapter was such a teaser so I felt like I had to give you guys a nice long chapter filled with romance and mystery (barely) to make up for it. Comment below and tell me what you think!

I hope you enjoy~

------------------------

Luhan's POV

While I was waiting for Haeyoung to get ready, my phone vibrated. I looked at the screen and noticed someone texted me.

Kkamjong: Hyung, congrats to you and Haeyoung. You put up a good fight, but she chose you fair and square.. Treat her well and don't you dare break her heart! It's not an easy thing to fix. I'm entrusting you with her. Please don't make me regret it...

I smiled at the text. Kai wasn't exactly the type to share how he feels, but after knowing him for so long, I could tell he sincerely liked Haeyoung. Heck, he even went against me to win her over. The fact that he surrendered her to me actually meant a lot. It showed that he trusted me with her heart and I wasn't going to let him down.

"You're not already cheating on me with another girl, are you?"

I looked up and saw two round eyes peering at me and nearly fell out of my seat.

"Of course not!! I just received a really heartfelt text. That's all I swear!" Well, it was pretty heartfelt for Kai's standards...

She giggled as she pulled me up and started dragging me out the door.

"Hmm..” she eyed me up and down. “Okay, I trust you. Come on let's go!"

"So where are we headed to?" Haeyoung asked while turning the knob to look for a radio station.

"Mmmm, well I have three places I want to go to with you today. So pick either A, B, or C to choose where to go first."

"Actually oppa..." She drifted off.

"Hm?"

"Can we go eat first? I didn't eat breakfast yet..." Haeyoung guiltily smiled as she grabbed her stomach while it grumbled, right on cue.

I chuckled to myself and shook my head. What a cute girl.

"Of course," I ruffled her hair. "Anything for my princess!"

Haeyoung blushed and turned her attention towards the window.

"Wow, I've never been to an American styled cafe before!" Haeyoung squealed as she stared at the cafe in awe.

"Really? Should I order for you then?"

Haeyoung nodded her head.

"How does an egg sandwich and a Creme Brulee Latte sound?"

"As long as you think they taste good, I'll try them. I'll go grab a seat while you order, okay?"

Haeyoung's POV

I found a booth near the window for us to sit at. I rested my head on my hands and looked over at Luhan. He turned to look at me and I blushed and looked away as an instinct.

I started wondering how I was so lucky to get a guy like him. I remember being scared when I first came to Seoul. I was scared that I wouldn't make any friends and I was even scared of being bullied for being the new girl from overseas. But I'll never forget the glimpse of hope I got when I first met Luhan. Not to mention he was the first person I even interacted with when I got to school. He was kind enough to show me around and even introduce me to Sehun and Kai. Even though there was only 3 of them, I already felt like I made a ton of friends. They were all I needed and I was thankful that they accepted me so easily.

My eyes started wandering around the cafe as I waited for Luhan to come with the food and drinks. My eyes landed on guy a couple of booths down. His hair was brown and cut short. He had a few ear piercings and some fierce looking eyebrows. Then, he looked up.

Those eyes. That mouth. That gaze. I froze. He looked very familiar. But there's no way it's him. Last time I saw him he had no plans of coming back here at all. And the last time I saw him was when I was back in the U.S.

Before I got the chance to get a better look at him, Luhan sat down in front of me and blocked my view.

"Food's here. Let's eat!" he cheerily announced.

I released the breath I didn't even realize I was holding and looked at Luhan. I forced a small smile and picked up my sandwich. Even if the person I was looking at wasn't actually him, my mood was still pretty down now. I started having one flashback after another and another and-

"Babe, is everything okay?" Luhan stared at me.

I looked down at my sandwich and realized I didn't even bite out of it. I shyly smiled and took a big bite.

"Mhmm!" I nodded.

Luhan chuckled and resumed eating and I followed suit.

???'s POV

My eyes darted towards her as she got up. Then my eyes zeroed in on who she was with. He took her hand and led her out the cafe. I scoffed.

So that's who you're with now, huh? Well Haeyoung, you're definitely not going to enjoy what's coming next. I finished my coffee and got up to leave.

"Come on guys, we've got to get back to work."

Luhan's POV

"Where exactly are we going?" Haeyoung asked for the 114729th time.

I was dragging Haeyoung along by the hand because we decided to walk to our destination for once. Well, I decided to park my car a few blocks away cause I wanted to actually have some time with Haeyoung to talk. That, and I was getting pretty tired of driving in the horrible Seoul traffic.

"It's a surprise! Now stop asking."

"Fine."

There was a short silence between us. It was already late afternoon so there were quite a few people around us on the sidewalks. It was the weekend so it was even busier than usual. I felt Haeyoung's grip tighten as we started weaving through a big crowd of people. I looked back at her.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just a little scared of big crowds is all." She looked down. Someone bumped into her and she gripped even harder.

"Hey hey hey, easy there. My hand needs blood you know," I joked.

"Sorry...."

"Why are you scared of big crowds anyways?"

“It’s a long story,” she reasoned.

“Oh come on, we’ve got nothing but time.”

“Well... when I was young, my dad set me down on a bench while he went to buy us food during a parade. He told me to stay put, but then I saw a dog and tried to chase it but it got away. I couldn't remember where I came from so I just kept walking and somehow I ended up in the middle of the parade. With my luck, I was stuck in the crowd of circus people. You know, with the clowns and the guys and stilts. So of course, they kept yelling at me and they eventually stopped the parade. They started calling for someone to pick me up and my dad came to get it. I was crying the whole time..." Haeyoung drifted off.

"Being surrounded by people much bigger than you must be pretty scary, huh?"

"Yeah. I know it might sound a bit childish and all and you'd think I'd be over it by now, but getting lost in a big crowd is still scary to me."

"Don't worry, you've got me to guide you." I squeezed her hand and flashed a smile.

Eventually, we reached our destination.

"Ta-da! Welcome to Nagwon Sangga! (a/n a famous instrument store)" I spread my arms out and beamed. Haeyoung giggled at my dramatic announcement and I led her inside.

"Wow, this place has a lot of instruments," her eyes widened as we started walking through the store.

"You betcha. Come on, I want to show you something." I dragged her to the section where the pianos were kept. We both sat down and I started playing a song for her.

"Oppa, where did you learn to play like that?"

"I used to come here a lot during high school. Kai's friend, Taemin, would teach me how to play. Taemin's friend would come every now and then with him to play the guitar. They'd play together sometimes while I'd just watch in awe. But Taemin suddenly stopped coming because he was accepted into SM entertainment. I started practicing more so I could try playing with Taemin's friend, but when I was finally ready, he suddenly stopped coming too. I haven't heard from him ever since."

"You must miss him a lot," she commented. I just nodded my head and started playing again. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Haeyoung swaying her head to the music. I smiled to myself as my fingers glided across the keys. This was the very song I practiced to play with Yi Fan. I could just imagine the guitar in my head, accompanying the piano. I wonder what made him stop coming. Is he still alive? Is he doing well? Does he still play? Taemin seemed to be just fine with SHINee. Although we don’t talk anymore I’m glad to see he’s made new friends.

The song ended and I abruptly got up. She looked up at me with a confused expression.

"Let's go. It's starting to get dark and I want to make it there before the lights turn on."

Haeyoung's POV

"Do I really have to wear this!? People will be staring at me!"

"If you keep screaming like this, everyone will be looking at you! You can’t even see anyone staring at you anyways. Just trust me, okay? This is going to be awesome."

I was currently blindfolded after being convinced by Luhan who refused to go to our next destination unless I wore it. So now, here we are at our destination. Luhan was leading me by my hand while I was waving around my free hand to make sure I don't run into anything.

Eventually, we ended up stopping. I sighed in satisfaction. Why does it seem like walking around blindfolded is more tiring?

"Two tickets please."

Tickets?

"Can I take this off now?" I whispered.

"Not yet." I frowned. "Thank you." Luhan took my hand and we started walking again.

"Okay, watch your step. Step really wide." I did as I was told. After I landed, the ground started moving.

"Ahhhhh!" dropped to the ground and yelled. Where the heck are we!?

"Haeyoung, get up and have a seat." Luhan picked me up and slightly pushed me towards what felt like a bench.

"I'm getting really tired of this blindfold," I pouted. He didn't respond so we just sat in silence. The bench jerked and the ground was swaying again. I squealed and silently cursed Luhan under my breath. This surprise better be worth it.

After a ton of walking and an elevator ride, Luhan told me we reached our destination. I cheered as he dragged me along to a specific spot.

"Ready?"

"Yeah yeah yeah, just get this thing off of me!" I urged.

"Okay. 1, 2, 3."

I opened my eyes as the blindfold was taken off. I looked around and gasped as soon as I realized where we were. I quickly turned around and hugged Luhan.

"How did you know I wanted to go to Namsan tower?" I asked happily.

"A little birdie told me." He smirked. "Come on, I even brought a lock and a sharpie for us."

We walked around until we found a place to keep our lock. He took out the sharpie and held both the lock and marker in his hand, not knowing what to do next.

"This lock won't be long enough. All we can fit is our names and our date..." He said.

"We can write on those," I pointed to a table with a bunch of plastic hearts.

While he went to get them. I wrote on the lock.

Luhan <3 Haeyoung

"Here, one for you and one for me." I took mine and we both started writing. I took a really long time to write because honestly, I at putting my emotions into words. I express how I feel by the way I act around a certain person. Him reading exactly how I feel isn’t going to save me from any embarrassment either.

When we were finished, I snatched his. It read:

Dear Princess Haeyoung,

Our journey as a couple started with a fairytale beginning. I promise I will do everything I can to make you the happiest princess that has ever lived. Even happier than Cinderella and all the other Disney princesses! You were my first kiss and my first girlfriend, and hopefully you'll be my last. No matter what, we must get through any obstacle that comes our way. I know we are both strong enough to get through anything. Let's continue being with each other forever, okay?

Love, Prince Luhan

"Prince Luhan, huh?" I rose an eyebrow. It was so cheesy!

"Mhmm! Lemme see yours." I shyly handed mine over.

Dear Luhannie,

My eternal sunshine! Keke. You were the first person to reach out to me when I came here. I remember being scared of moving to Korea, but as soon as I saw your smile, all my worries went away. You welcomed me with a warm heart and made me feel at home. Over time, you unknowingly entered my heart. Before I knew it, I was head over heels for you. I promise to be a girlfriend that you will be proud of. I promise to make you smile every day and to fill your days with laughter. Let's have a relationship filled with happiness and love. Nothing will bring us down! Fighting~

Love, Haeyoung

"Pfft, eternal sunshine?" Luhan chuckled.

"Don't make fun of me! It fits you, ok? Maybe I should've put big bully instead..."

"I'm kidding! But it's just so cheesy I couldn't help but laugh."

"What about Princess Haeyoung!? That's cheesy too!" I argued.

"Arasso, let's just hang our lock," he cooed.

We hooked our hearts to the lock and placed our lock on the fence. Luhan took out his phone and snapped a picture of it.

"Now where are we heading?" We walked hand in hand down the street.

"Clubbing"

"Why!?" I didn't want to go there after what happened last time at Club NB.

"Aw come on, don't be a party pooper! I promise we won't be chased down this time." I raised an eyebrow but continued to follow him nonetheless.

The bouncer stopped us at the door.

"Where do you two kids think you're going?"

Luhan whispered a few words and the bouncer's eyes suddenly widened. He straightened up and held his hands out.

"Right, sorry sir. Go right on ahead." he said nervously.

"What'd you say to him?" I asked Luhan.

"Don't worry. I got connections," he replied cooly. This boy...

When we got inside the club, I suddenly grew self conscious again. I was dressed for a date, not a club! Luhan must've noticed because he leaned down and reassured me through a string of compliments.

The music was louder and the dance floor was flooded with people grinding on each other.

"Will you be okay in this crowd?" He asked worriedly.

"I'll be fine as long as they stay in the same place." It was easy finding your way out of a group of drunk people jumping up and down.

He took my hand and led me to the dance floor. Surprisingly no one looked at us. I guess they were too busy paying attention to other things.

Luhan started dancing while I stood there awkwardly. I almost forgot he was really good at dancing. He sensed my stiffness and gently turned me around as he chuckled.

"Here." He placed his hands on my hips and I felt him press up behind me. I started reddening. Thank God he couldn't see my face. He placed his lips near my ear and whispered. "Now just follow me." His voice sent shivers down my spine. I did as I was told. My body mimicked his and eventually, I loosened up. Mind you, we weren't dancing as explicitly as the other people in the room, but it was sensual enough to get my heart racing. My hand went up to grab his shoulder as he started kissing my neck. The music pounded in my ears and my breathing started to quicken. At some point our lips met and his hands started wandering lower and lower. I broke the kiss as I gasped and stopped his hands before he got any closer. "Sorry," he mumbled. He placed his chin on my shoulder and we continued dancing. I turned my head to tell him something, but my eyes landed on a familiar face.

What the is he doing here?

I abruptly stopped dancing.

"Aegiya, what's wrong?" He asked. I probably just ruined the moment for him.

"L-let’s go home now," I bluntly stated as I started walking away. In my rush to leave, I accidentally bumped into a guy and made him fall.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I asked as I helped him up. This guy had black hair and a thin build. He had a well defined jaw line and dark circles under his eyes.

"It's alright, I'm okay," he said.

"What happened?" Luhan finally caught up and started checking me to make sure I was okay.

"I'm fine, I just accidentally bumped into this guy and made him-"

"Hey, are you okay Zitao? I lost sight of you just a second ago until I realized you fell."

I looked to see who cut me off and froze when I realized who it was. He turned towards me and stiffened.

"Yi Fan? Is that you?" Luhan called. Kevin shook out of his trance and looked towards Luhan's direction. His eyes widened.

"Luhan?"

Wait.. They know each other!?

I knew that she would choose Luhan! Nonetheless, I was so excited when you described "his black hair" and then so sad when it wasn't Kai :( But I guess she'll be happier with Luhan! Oh and maybe you could make some happy end for Kai too? Like putting him in a relationship so that the four of them (Luhan and Haeyoung, Kai and girlfriend) can do things together :) oh and Sehun, too of course! I know, it would be a bit cheesy but I'd be totally happy about it :)
