Biting The Hand That Feeds♦ - ♥ - ♦
The process of looking at houses had fully begun now. Taeil and Taeyong, and sometimes Johnny were visiting sites, looking inside the houses, but also scoping out around them, searching for any trace of another wolf's scent on the property.
Somin had seen the price of one house and had blanched, looking at the eldest wolf. "I've been curious about this, but...how do you guys make money? School is expensive on its own, and then you have utility bills, food bills, other general living costs..."
Taeil chuckled and shook his head, looking up at her. "I had a great uncle who, despite being part of the family pack that kicked Taeyong and me out, doted on me. He was a bit eccentric, I guess. He had not only family money, but he was successful with stock trading. He left all of his estate to me in his will when he died, so no one in my family could do anything about it. I sold his property and a lot of his belongings since they weren't needed. Then, I invested a good amount into the stock market as well."
"And you're good at that?" she asked curiously.
Taeil shrugged. "I know my way around the market. It's all timing; knowing when to buy, and when to sell. Taeyong's quite good at it too. Economic classes do actually help. Once you know how to read the market and get the timing right without being too greedy, you find success. But we do budget as well. We know where our money is going, and we have it under control, don't worry." The male smiled at Somin, reaching to pinch her cheek teasingly. "Besides, I'm graduating soon. I have a job offer from an internship I did last semester. Don't worry about money, Somin."
This comforted Somin, so she nodded and pushed Taeil's hand from her face, rubbing her sore cheek.
Later that day, Johnny approached Somin, who took one look at him and turned, ready to walk in the other direction, but he grabbed her hand with both of his. "I'm not going to try to kiss you," he promised. "I just wanted to ask you something."
Slowly turning, the female glanced back at Johnny, whose expression was serious. That made Somin relax, so she nodded and turned to face him. "Shoot."
Johnny flashed a grin. "I wanted to ask you on a date."
Date. Why did that word send a flash of heat to Somin's cheeks, and set off butterflies in her stomach? She'd been on dates with the other wolves, but...none of them had so forwardly asked asked her like this.
Peering at her, Johnny smiled. "Aw, you're blushing. Is that a yes?"
Somin looked at Johnny, then looked away quickly. She nodded a few times, and Johnny laughed, lacing their fingers together. "I'm taking Somin on a date!" he yelled through the house.
"I want to go too!" Winwin said eagerly as he hopped up from the couch. "I want to take Somin on a date."
"In your dreams," the elder wolf shot back before returning his gaze to the female. "Go put on something pretty and we'll go."
Taeyong emerged from his room, holding a hand in front of Somin to block her way. "Wait, wait, wait. Where are you taking her? I don't mind you bringing her out, but we still need to be careful of the Im pack."
"We're not going far into the city," Johnny promised. Taeyong gave him a confused look, so Johnny rolled his eyes and leaned into Taeyong to tell him what he had planned, though he was careful not to let Somin hear.
Taeyong seemed satisfied, so he nodded. "Okay. Just be careful. Keep your phone on, and make sure you have your guard up."
"I'll make sure nothing happens," Johnny assured the alpha before looking back at Somin. "Go get changed."
Unsure but excited, Somin went into her room and looked at her cloth
