After that movie, they decide to watch the Harry Potter saga, something they both love, but halfway through The Goblet of Fire, Taeyeon hears some light snoring next to her. She stands up and turns off the TV and picks up the glasses. When she gets back to the living room, she sees a woken up but still sleepy Tiffany trying to put on her shoes

‘’what are you doing?’’

‘’I’m going to go home’’

‘’I’m not sure you can drive like that, you’re too tired. Why don’t you sleep over?’’ she asks and Tiffany’s eyes widen

‘’I’m not sure that’s such a good idea. It’s probably too soon for us. Sleeping in the same bed and all. And I wouldn’t want you sleeping on the couch’’

‘’oh, don’t worry. When I offered I totally took that into account, I know that. But I have a guest room you can sleep in, and you can borrow some of my clothes. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to you if you drive like that’’

Tiffany smiles sweetly at the caring Taeyeon, she knows that what she’s saying is true and she should probably listen to her

‘’you’re right, thank you’’ she gets up from the couch and plants a short kiss on Taeyeon’s cheek, who in turn blushes a little

‘’you’re cute’’ the brunette says as she bops her nose

Taeyeon goes to her closet and brings some pajamas for Tiffany to wear and enters the spare bedroom in her apartment, where Tiffany is already waiting for her

‘’here are the pajamas, there’s also a spare toothbrush in the bathroom. If you need anything else you tell me, alright?’’

Tiffany nods and smiles, she gets closer to the blonde and connects their lips in a gentle kiss that last for a few seconds

‘’good night’’ Taeyeon breathes out and Tiffany bites her lip before kissing the blonde’s lips shortly one last time

‘’good night’’

‘’do you really have to go so soon?’’

‘’Yeah, I’m sorry, I have to go home and change and run some errands before I go pick up the kids’’

Taeyeon can’t help the pout that appears on her face and the disappointment in her voice. She knows she has to let Tiffany go but she wanted to spend the rest of the day with her

‘’okay’’ she says, lowering her head

‘’Tae, don’t worry. We’ll see each other tomorrow at your office’’

That brightens Taeyeon’s mood a little bit and she finally smiles for her girlfriend, her chin dimples showing

‘’you’re right, I’ll see you tomorrow then. Give a kiss to the twins for me. I hope I get to see them soon’’

Tiffany is glad that Taeyeon and her kids get along as well as they do, she wouldn’t imagine a relationship with the blonde if they didn’t.

‘’you will. Now, I really have to get going’’ she kisses her cheek and is about to turn around and walk away when Taeyeon takes her wrist and brings her to her body, placing one of her hands on her waist and kisses her properly in the lips. Tiffany’s eyes widen at the sudden boldness in Taeyeon’s actions, but closes them when the other girl her bottom lip. She never thought she’d get lightheaded from a kiss. A kiss that takes their breath away. Taeyeon never believed those books that said that you could convey all your feelings into a single kiss. But damn being wrong never felt so good.

After some moments, they stop because of the lack of air in their lungs, they pull away, foreheads touching, breathing heavily

‘’wow’’ is all a dazed Tiffany can say

‘’now that was a goodbye’’

‘’it sure was’’ Tiffany chuckles ‘’I’ll get going now, see you Monday’’

‘’bye!’’ the blonde waves happily

Tiffany is soon out the door and Taeyeon looks around, now that she’s gone, she doesn’t quite know what to do but she doesn’t feel like being alone so she opens the groupchat she has with her friends, only to find a bunch of texts from them, asking how things went

Taeyeon: anyone free for breakfast? I’ll tell you all about it

She waits for a couple of minutes before her friends answer

Hyo: I’m free! Just name the place

Sunny: I’m free too

Yul: I’m down too, where at?

Taeyeon: our usual diner downtown in 20?

Hyo: perfect

Sunny: see you there!

Yul: alright! can’t wait!

Taeyeon: cool, I’ll see you guys there :*

She dresses in a pair of ripped jeans and an army green shirt, paired with black superstar adidas and a black cap. She hopes there isn’t any paparazzi downtown because she doesn’t feel like dealing with one of them today. She actually has a deal with the press in which they don’t take pictures of her, and in return she pays them a large sum of money. But of course, there’s always one of two who’d rather have her picture. It’s not that she dislikes the camera that much, she even poses for a couple of magazines a year.  It’s that at first, when she was announced as the new CEO of Kim Co, one of Korea’s biggest companies, they were obsessed with her, she was young and beautiful, two of the things the media loves the most. But it started getting too far, she was being followed absolutely everywhere, she couldn’t be out with friends, she couldn’t go grocery shopping, nothing. So she came up with the deal, and most of them respect it.

She drives to the place which is 10 minutes away from her house. She plays some music and when K.Will’s ‘I need you’ comes on, she sings her lungs out, people passing by giving her weird looks.

When she enters the diner, her friends are, surprisingly, already there.

‘’Taengoo, over here’’ Sunny waves at her and Taeyeon waves back, she slides inside the booth and sits next to her

‘’So, how did it go?’’ Yuri starts

‘’Yeah, it’s us that have to drag you out most of the time, I sense something good happened?’’ Hyoyeon ponders

Taeyeon’s face breaks into a huge smile, perfect white teeth and chin dimples showing, her friends all smile in turn

‘’oh, I see it went more than good, if you get what I mean’’ Yuri says bobbing her eyebrows up and down

‘’what? No! Nothing like that! Why is that always your first thought, Yul’’ the blonde says shaking her head at her friend’s word

‘’ignore her, Taeng. So, what happened? Did you use any of our advices?’’ Sunny asks raising her elbows on the table and placing her chin on them

‘’well’’ the blonde takes a big breath, not really knowing where to start, or what exactly to share with her friends. In the end, she decides to omit the part about Tiffany crying and the reveal about the twins’ dirtbag of a father, figuring it wasn’t really her place to talk about that. ‘’I took some courage and confessed, I told her what she makes me feel. I was really nervous, to say the least, but then out of nowhere she kissed me. She told me she liked me too and then I gave her a bracelet, aaaaaaand that’s it’’ Taeyeon finishes, looking around her friends to catch their reaction. They only blink.

‘’that’s it?’’ Sunny asks, a bit of disappointment in her tone

‘’what else did you guys wanted?’’

‘’I don’t know, I thought it was going to be more dramatic, more passionate, I don’t know’’ Hyoyeon reasons out

Taeyeon huffs and crosses her arms ‘’this is not a movie, Hyoyeon. But thanks anyway for your obvious support’’

‘’don’t listen to them, Taengoo’’ Yuri pats her arms, and she drops them to her sides ‘’I’m happy for you two, I really am.  And I’m glad you went through with it, I knew you could do it’’ she says with a proud grin on her face

‘’we’re happy for you two too, don’t get us wrong. We know how you’ve struggled with your feelings for her, so it’s nice to know things turned out okay’’ Sunny smiles and Hyoyeon nods

‘’now I hope you’re ready for the heavy stuff’’ Yuri comments

Taeyeon looks confused ‘’what heavy stuff?’’

‘’oh you know, Tiffany is not playing around, she’s not looking to ‘date’, she’s looking for something more serious than that, with the twins and all, she doesn’t have time for that, she’s looking for someone she can settle down with’’ both her other friends nod in agreement with the tall girl’s words.

‘’oh, that. I know, we actually talked about it, and I assured her I was ready for that kind of commitment. I don’t think she would have accepted me if I didn’t’’

They look at her in awe and suddenly Sunny hugs her, a little too tightly for Taeyeon’s liking

‘’our little Taengoo has grown up so much’’ she coos at the blonde who groans in response

‘’we’re proud of you buddy, we really are’’ Hyoyeon winks ‘’ I still think you would’ve done better if you had written her a rap, but anyway…’’

They are done with their breakfasts, they all ordered a huge order of waffles with whipped cream, chocolate, strawberries and bananas, which they hadn’t eaten in a long time, when Taeyeon receives a call from Tiffany, she swipes left to answer immediately and greets her girlfriend

‘’Hey, I didn’t think I was gonna hear from you until tomorrow’’

‘’Me neither, but I just picked up the kids from my dad and now the girls are telling me they want to go to the zoo, apparently there’s going to be something for little kids and they wanna take the twins’’

Taeyeon hums, indicating the other girl to continue ‘’and I thought maybe you’d want to join us, only if you want of course’’

‘’of course, I would never turn down an opportunity to hang out with you guys’’ she suddenly remember she’s sitting with her friends ‘’but I’m with the girls right now, is it okay if they join?’’

‘’sure! You know both our friends love spending time together’’ she laughs ‘’ and I’m sure Jessie was going to invite Yuri anyway’’

‘’great, what time do we meet?’’

‘’does half an hour work for you?’’

‘’it’s perfect, I’ll see you there’’

‘’see you soon, Tae. Bye!’’ she hears her girlfriend make a little kissing sound before hanging up

‘’So, Tiffany just called, she says we’re invited to go to the zoo along with the other girls, you guys down?’’

‘’oh, I’m down’’ Hyoyeon says excitedly

‘’me too, I haven’t been to the zoo in so long’’ an equally excited Sunny exclaims

‘’what about you, Yul’’ the blonde asks Yuri, who seems to be typing away on her phone

‘’I’m definitely down, Jess just texted me about it’’

They smile teasingly before Hyoyeon adds ‘’I just hope you guys remember we’re going to a public place, where there will be innocent children around’’

‘’yeah, I hope it doesn’t turn out like our last group hangout. I swear you guys get so lost in each other you forget your surroundings’’

‘’oh don’t talk Taeyeon, because soon enough you guys will be the ones who we warn before we go out’’

Tiffany and her friends arrive at the zoo and find Taeyeon and her friends already at the entrance. She and her group walk closer to the other girls, she and Yoona carrying the twins in their arms. And upon seeing Taeyeon, they fuss around and lean forward to get carried by her

‘’Hey guys! I missed you so much’’ the blonde says as she takes them both in her arms and kisses their faces

All of her and Tiffany’s friends aww at the sight ‘’I swear I didn’t get that reaction when I picked them up this morning’’ Tiffany jokes and they all laugh

‘’Hey’’ Taeyeon simply says

Tiffany is about to lean forward and give Taeyeon a kiss when she notices the latter’s friend’s eyes on her and she turns shy, Taeyeon notices and leans forward herself to take her girlfriend’s lips between her own, surprising the brunette

‘’don’t worry, they know’’

She smiles and takes Irene from Taeyeon’s arms to help her

‘’oh, we know’’ Yuri says with certain teasing in her voice, to which the couple blush lightly. She receives a soft shove in her shoulder from her girlfriend ‘’be easy on them’’ she warns before she pulls her down for a short kiss, much to the relief of the rest of the group

‘’okay, so we have the tickets right here’’ Hyoyeon says as she hands each girl their own ticket ‘’let’s go’’

They all enter the zoo and the twins suddenly get excited upon seeing all the animals near them, Tiffany and Taeyeon put them on the floor so they can walk, but taking one of their hands to lead them. Kai and Irene join their free hands and the four of them walk like that through the zoo. Since they are at the front of the group, they don’t notice their friends in the back with huge smiles on their faces and taking pictures of them.

Every animal they see results in the same reaction from the twins, pure excitement and Taeyeon can’t stop taking pictures of the smiles on their little round faces. And Tiffany can’t help but squeal about her kids and girlfriend’s excitement. She knows she wouldn’t have this with anyone else, yes, she definitely made the right choice.

Yuri and Jessica walk hand in hand, admiring the animals and taking pictures to upload to their social networks. Yoona, Sooyoung and Sunny stick together, taking turns in taking silly pictures of them posing with the animals, they also waste no time in consuming just about every snack the zoo has to offer.

Definitely the oddest pair between them, Hyoyeon and Seohyun walk together, the latter explaining facts about certain animals to the short girl, who seems to be listening intently to everything she has to say.

At some point, Yuri and Jessica take the kids from Tiffany and Taeyeon and take them to see the rest of the animals before they all go to the kids’ even the zoo prepared.

‘’I missed you, you know’’ Taeyeon says as she bumps shoulders with the brunette

‘’but we just saw each other this morning’’ Tiffany laughs

‘’I know, but I still miss you’’

‘’me too’’ Tiffany admits a bit embarrassingly

Taeyeon interlaces their fingers, and the warmth from her hand makes Tiffany forget about why she ever felt embarrassed to admit she missed the blonde.  They walk away, hand in hand, to find the rest of the group and join them.

The zoo had set a little pony carousel for the smallest kids, and Jessica didn’t think twice before sitting Irene, and Yuri Kai, on top of one of them. Tiffany was holding Taeyeon’s hand tightly, fearing the twins would be scared, but she relaxed when they showed nothing but delight. Everyone found the sight too cute and didn’t waste time in taking pictures

‘’this definitely goes into the photo albums to show them when they grow up’’ Sooyoung says

The rest of the afternoon is spent in absolute joy. They’re about to leave when Sunny spots a photographer and proposes he takes a picture of all of them together as a memento of the fantastic day they had. They all agree and quickly pose. The adults are wearing animal shirts they bought in the souvenir shop, and Irene and Kai are wearing frog and tiger masks, respectively. Taeyeon makes Kai sit in her shoulders and Tiffany takes Irene in her arms. The photographer snaps the photo and soon, hands it to them. Tiffany decides to keep it to frame it and put it on her wall.

That days marks the start of them as an official family.
