Taeyeon moved as fast as her short legs could allow her to get to the little kids before they could get further away or get hurt. When she finally reached them, she quickly picked them up and sighed rather loudly

‘’where were you guys going? Are you causing trouble again? Your mom’s probably worried sick’’

The babies could only babble as a response

Taeyeon started to look around the park, looking for any sign of the babies’ mom, since she couldn’t find her, she decided to walk around to have a better chance at finding her

She finally found her with her back facing her talking rather desperately to Dongwoo, the guard of the park, she made her way towards the young mother of the twins to handle them over and once she was close enough she heard the Dongwoo say ‘’do not worry Ms., we will put the park on lockdown right now and until we find your children’’

‘’no need for that, Dongwoo-ssi I have the little runaways right here with me’’

The minute Tiffany hears that, she turns around and without thinking basically launches herself at Taeyeon to kiss her children’s faces, the shorter girl stiffens for a second from the surprise but relaxes once Tiffany notices what she had done and gently takes the kids from Taeyeon’s arms, which she supposes must hurt because if there is something her children are not, is light.

‘’oh my god! You guys scared the life out of me!’’ the tears wouldn’t stop coming out of Tiffany’s eyes and Taeyeon felt so bad for her, the poor woman had experienced this at least two times in a very short amount of time and it is something no parent, or person for that matter, should ever want to experience

‘’I’ll go cancel the lockdown order, thank you Ms. Kim’’ he gives a small bow and turns around heading to the guard’s quarters

‘’I can’t believe it’s you who found them again, what are the odds’’ Tiffany chuckles lightly

‘’That’s what I thought when I saw them again today’’

‘’Taeyeon, was it?’’

‘’Yeah, that’s my name. And yours is Tiffany, right?’’ the brunette nods ‘’ Thank you so much, again’’

‘’Don’t worry, I’m glad I did, too’’ Taeyeon smiles ‘’would you like an ice cream? I’m sure a cone will help you relax a bit’’

‘’I don’t know, I feel like you’ve already done so much for me’’

‘’Hey, it’s no problem, come on, let’s get you one’’ she’s about to turn around and lead them to the ice cream truck a few meters away from them when she notices Tiffany shuffle the kids a bit awkwardly in her arms ‘’You want a hand with one of them?’’

‘’You wouldn’t mind?’’

‘’Of course not, I told you last time, your kids are the cutest things’’ she extends her arms and little Kai extends his immediately and Taeyeon takes him in her arms, ‘’Now’’ she motions to Tiffany who’s holding little Irene, ‘’If you ladies would like to join us, we’re going for some ice cream’’ she winks at the brunette, who only laughs as a response

The two women reach the ice cream truck and Taeyeon orders a chocolate brownie cone

‘’Tiffany-ssi, what do you want?’’

‘’a strawberry one, please’’

‘’alright, and’’ she whispers the next part, as if embarrassed to ask ‘’can babies eat ice cream?’’

Tiffany laughs a little at the cute question ‘’no, they can’t, but don’t worry, they have their milk’’

‘’oh, okay, sorry, it’s just that I don’t know a lot about babies’’

The pair finds a bench right under a big tree and sit down, the little humans sitting between them, drinking their bottles with a little pillow behind them to make sure the bench is comfortable

‘’They look so peaceful right now’’

‘’I swear I will buy them one of those kids’ leashes, this can’t keep happening to me’’

Taeyeon tilts her head to the side ‘’I don’t mean to judge or anything, but, don’t you have a stroller?’’

‘’I do’’ the brunette sighs ‘’but it’s really heavy and having to put that thing in and out of the car is a struggle for me’’

‘’I can only imagine’’

‘’Yeah’’ Tiffany sighs

They were enjoying their ice creams in silence when Taeyeon decides to start a new conversation

‘’So’’ she starts a little cautiously, not knowing if what she’s about to ask is private, since they’ve only met twice, and not under the best circumstances, ‘’what do you do, Tiffany? If that’s okay for me to ask, of course, I get it if you don’t want to, I mean, we really don’t know each other after all’’

‘’It’s okay, I’m an interior designer’’

‘’Oh, really? That’s really cool’’

‘’Yeah, it’s something I really like to do’’

‘’Lucky you, not everyone gets to do something they love’’

Tiffany sensed the bit of sadness in Taeyeon’s voice and figured she might not be talking about people in general. ‘’I know, every day I thank god for finding a job in which I can actually enjoy myself. And what do you do, Taeyeon-ssi?’’

‘’Me? Oh, well umm, I, umm, run a company, I guess’’

‘’You guess?’’

‘’No, sorry, I do run a company’’

‘’Wow, that’s amazing’’

Taeyeon shrugs ‘’Sometimes it is, but sometimes, like right now, it’s too much’’

They continue talking about many things, not too personal, but not too shallow either, like how Tiffany has designed half the offices of the buildings in this part of town, how Taeyeon comes a lot to this park to get fresh air and that’s why the park guard knows her, how Tiffany’s favorite color is pink and that’s why she dresses both her kids in pink, but will let them dress however they choose when they grow up… until some really soft snores coming from between them put an end to their chat

‘’Well, I guess that’s my cue to go home’’

‘’Oh, yeah, I should be going back to work, too’’

‘’Would you mind giving me a hand with Irene to take them to my car? Only if you can, of course’’

‘’Yeah, it’s no problem. I was actually going to suggest that’’

Tiffany smiles, ‘’let’s go then, my car is this way

Taeyeon and Tiffany walk in silence to the brunette’s car, careful not to wake the kids on their way. Tiffany unlocks the car and puts Kai first on his car seat, putting on his seatbelt carefully. She then takes Irene from Taeyeon’s arms and does the same and closes the car door.

‘’So,’’ she starts ‘’thank you for everything you did today, for finding my kids yet again, for the ice cream, for the nice chat and for helping me right now’’ she extends her hand for a handshake which Taeyeon takes right away

‘’It was my pleasure, I hope we can meet again someday, under different circumstances, of course’’

Tiffany laughs softly

‘’I hope so too’’

They suddenly notice their hands are still touching and quickly let go of each other, both turning a little red

‘’Okay, see you later, take care, and take care of those cuties there’’

‘’I will, see you Taeyeon-sii’’

‘’Bye’’

‘’Hey Taeng, welcome back, you took a while there’’ Yuri says as soon as Taeyeon enters her office and sits down on the taller girl’s leather couch

‘’Something happened’’

‘’What was it? Was it serious?’’ Yuri asks, suddenly worried about her friend

‘’You remember about the kids I found lost at the mall the other day?’’

‘’Yeah, what about them?’’

‘’Well, I found them again today, crawling away from the park’’

‘’What?’’ the brunette’s eyes widen ‘’again?’’

‘’Yeah, their poor mom was so desperate, she was crying really bad when I took the kids to her’’

‘’Did she recognize you?’’

‘’Yes’’

‘’And what exactly took you so long?’’

‘’You know, I thought a cone of ice cream would make her feel a little better so I bought her one and we chatted for a bit before she went home because the kids fell asleep’’

‘’Oh, my little Taengoo is such a sweet person’’ she walks to her short friend and ruffles her hair

‘’Yah! Yul not my hair!’’

‘’Sorry buddy’’ she apologizes, but Taeyeon knows she doesn’t mean it

‘’So, was she hot?’’ Yuri wiggles her eyebrows

‘’Yuri! What’s with that question again!’’

‘’What? You didn’t answer last time’’ she says in her defense

‘’Because I do not know how that’s relevant to anything’’

‘’She totally is, otherwise you’d tell me, you want her for yourself, that’s it’’ Yuri teases

‘’ Oh my god, what are you saying? I barely know the woman’’

‘’I’m not saying marry her, I’m just asking if you thought she was hot’’

Taeyeon sighs, defeated ‘’She was, okay? Now, can we move on?’’

‘’I was just messing with you, little one’’

‘’Stop calling me little one, I’m older than you’’ the blonde pouts, making it hard for Yuri to take her serious

‘’Sure you are, little one’’

‘’Yah! Shut up, you might be the vice-president but I’m the president and I can still fire you’’ she whines like a little kid

‘’Alright boss, you got me there’’ the tanned woman laughs

Taeyeon was glad she had someone like Yuri. Sure, they’ve known each other for more than 20 years and they still fought every day like little children. Taeyeon was glad she has Yuri in her life, all of her friends really, but she is the one she sees every day, so their bond is a little stronger, they have been through their ups and down together, they always had each other’s backs, they came to each other’s apartments with a bottle of wine on their hands to relieve the stress of the work week. Taeyeon was glad Yuri was the best at what she did, because if she weren’t, she wouldn’t have hired her and her company would have probably flopped, mostly because their old vice-president hated her for taking presidency and wanted to sabotage the company. So, she was glad Yuri was the best candidate for the job because seeing Yuri’s face every day made it all better, it made all work bearable.

Tiffany was finishing putting her kids in their crib when her cellphone rang, it was her assistant calling

‘’Yes, Sunjung, what is it?’’

‘’Ms. Hwang, I have Kim Co. in line 2 saying they need your services for the renovation of their main building’’

‘’Kim Co.? Yeah, of course, that would be huge, accept the offer’’

‘’Okay, please wait while I confirm with them’’

Kim Co. is one of the leading companies in Korea, and for Tiffany to take in such a job would open new and better opportunities for her own company.

‘’It’s done Ms. Hwang, they will expect you for a meeting tomorrow at noon, I will email you the address and name of the person you will be speaking to’’

‘’Thanks, Sunjung’’

‘’I will see you tomorrow, boss’’

She hangs up smiling, this is a golden opportunity, but then observes her babies sleeping and remembers something, she doesn’t have anyone to watch her children, her babysitter will probably be at school at that time and Sunjung is busy with important paperwork at the office, Seohyun is away on a medical convention, Yoona is sick, which reminds her to drop by with some soup soon, her dad and siblings are on America for the next few days, Jessie is- wait, she just got back from Paris two days ago and as the owner of a luxurious clothing line, she sure must have a few hours to spare, smiling she dials the familiar number and waits until the other girl answers, and after ring number 3 she does

‘’Hi Jessie! Listen, I know you just got back from Paris but I need a big favor…’’
