Chapter 19- Results of Revelation (II)

“Are you going to tell me where we’re headed to now?” Mingyu asked for the umpteenth time as he eyed Hansol and Chan, who were discussing about some dumb show in the row before them.

“Nope.” Wonwoo gave a sly smile, determined on keeping their destination a secret. Wonwoo felt terrible for not preparing a gift for Mingyu’s birthday, and he kind of ruined his birthday dinner by crashing with his presence. Not that the younger minded or anything, but he still felt bad for intruding.

“We’re almost reaching one of the sub-urban areas! You guys are not planning to kidnap me before taking out my organs and selling them are you!?” Mingyu exclaimed, eyes widened to their maximum capacity as he scanned the amused expressions from Wonwoo, Hansol and Chan.

“Chill out hyung! Do we really seem like one of those s? I mean with the exception of Wonwoo hyung.” Hansol raised a brow.

“Excuse yourself! I’m a law student. There’s no way in hell would I ever go against the law.” Wonwoo rolled his eyes.

“Well then tell me where on earth we’re headed to! If you’re not up to something bad, there’s no reason not to tell me. Chan-ah, I know you’re the nicest amongst the brothers. Hyung trusts you a lot.” Mingyu reasoned, putting the skills he got as a law student into use.

“Yeah of course Mingyu hyung! We’re just headed to this shared vaca-” Chan was about to blabber out their surprise plans before Wonwoo cup his hand around the younger’s mouth, permanently shutting him up.

“Jesus Christ! He’s a law student too…obviously he would use his convincing skills to get what he wants…” Wonwoo exposed. Chan gasped, not realizing that he actually fell for one of those again.

Wonwoo used to trick him into doing chores with his convincing skills, until one day, Seungcheol asked Chan why was he the one doing all the chores when his other hyungs were slacking away. The younger got so mad he flipped the roof, throwing out every single clothing piece from their cupboards and he may or may not have switched Hansol and Wonwoo’s underwear on purpose.

“I hate surprises…” Mingyu grumbled, turning his head away, looking out of the windows.

“Don’t worry. It’ll be fun, I promise! I didn’t spend the entire night convincing you just for you to hate it! Don’t be a wet blanket man…” Wonwoo complained, nudging Mingyu’s arm. Indeed. He spent an hour texting the younger the previous night, bugging him to go out the next day.

“We’re almost thereeeee~” Hansol cheered, excited to visit their vacation house after almost half a year. They used to visit the vacation house once a month, but everyone had been rather busy with assignments, so the gang didn’t hang out there as often anymore ever since the school semester started. The 4 of them alighted from the bus with the two younger ones leading the way while Wonwoo stuck next to Mingyu who was trudging his feet along, not liking the idea of being in the dark about their day.

“We’re headed to our vacation house if that’s still bothering you…” Wonwoo spoke, hands stuck in his pocket. You would be expecting them to be holding hands, being all sweet and couply after what happened two days before. But nope. Wonwoo, being the most dense person ever, didn’t initiate anything.

“Oh…what are we going to do there then?” Mingyu probed, feeling slightly more comforted knowing where they were headed to now.

“Well…anything actually. There’s a pool where we can hang out…if you want to?” Wonwoo suggested.

“A-A p-pool?” Mingyu stuttered. Oh geez…I didn’t even work out for the past few weeks. How the heck am I supposed to go half-. Pretty sure my figure’s all destroyed. URGH. GOD DAMN THE SUGARED TREATS! WHY MINGYU WHY! Why do you keep making decisions that you’ll regret!

“Mingyu? What do you regret?” Wonwoo asked, gently shaking Mingyu’s arm, trying to bring the younger out of his dazed trance.

“H-Huh? What?” Mingyu gave a puzzled look.

“You said something about making decisions that you’ll regret?” Wonwoo repeated what he heard from Mingyu’s soft mumbling.

“Oh…my god…did I just…say my thoughts out loud?” The tips of Mingyu’s ears flushed red, immediately embarrassed that he may or may not have said everything out loud. Oh no…if he heard everything…Then he’ll probably tease me again! NO NO NO…

“Just the regret part. Come on! You won’t regret coming out on this date with me. I promise! We’ll have loads of fun!” Wonwoo grinned, wrapping an arm around Mingyu’s shoulder.

“D-Date?!” Mingyu let out an unmanly squeak, covering his mouth with both hands as he stared at Wonwoo with a bewildered look.

“Well yeah…what did you think it was?” Wonwoo chuckled. He’s acting all shy again… Cute.

“But isn’t…a date supposed to be…just two people?” Mingyu hesitated.

“Ah…those two…just pretend they’re not there. They’re just here…to g-guard the p-place?” Wonwoo tried to think of something better to cover up. I’m not lying…just didn’t tell him…why they’re here to guard the place. We better get going before nosy Jun Hui decides to poke his nose into our business again…I’ll be screwed if he finds out.

“Guard the place? Why? Didn’t you say that it’s your shared vacation house? You’re not lying…are you?” Mingyu narrowed his eyes at Wonwoo, trying to find a trace of him lying.

“No I’m not! I swear to god! Let’s go baby~ We don’t have all day!” Wonwoo winked, trying to distract Mingyu’s train of thoughts with one of his flirtatious tricks. Knowing Mingyu, he would just keep thinking about it, and question Wonwoo over and over until he told the truth. But Wonwoo had his own tricks to avoid Mingyu’s questioning. And it worked. Of course it did.

“B-Baby?!” Mingyu choked on air, blush searing throughout his cheeks. He tried to hide behind them behind his fingers, but Wonwoo pulled them away.

“Well yeah…terms of endearment are normal between couples…right?” Wonwoo asked, a brow raised at how Mingyu was acting.

“Oh…” The blush on Mingyu’s cheeks turned beet red. R-Right…I forgot for a moment.

“Unless…you don’t like it?” Wonwoo questioned, judging Mingyu’s reaction. That…must have been too flirty for him huh? Why can’t I do things right for once…

“It’s fine…I don’t want to force it-” Before Wonwoo could complete his sentence, Mingyu pulled him back by his arm.

“N-No! That’s not what I meant!” Mingyu blurted out.

“I just…you know…forgot?” Mingyu gave a sheepish smile. He was still not used to the fact that they were together. Like officially as a couple. Heck, the fact that Wonwoo confessed a few days back was still processing in his mind.

“Forgot? What did you forget?” Wonwoo raised a brow.

“Erm…that we’re…a couple?” Mingyu mumbled, hoping that Wonwoo didn’t hear.

“What?! How could you? I thought you liked me?!” Wonwoo gasped. He grasped the left side of his chest, giving Mingyu the best betrayed look he could come up with.

“I-I’m sorry! It’s just…everything happened so quickly?!” Mingyu exclaimed, his pupils expanding as Wonwoo turned his back towards him.

“I’m sorry! It just slipped my mind! I still like you! I really do!” Mingyu paced after Wonwoo, trying to catch up with the older. As he spun the older around by the shoulder, it was then he realized he fell for another one of Wonwoo’s tricks.

“Great to know. I like you too. Let’s go…” Wonwoo smirked as he spun around, grabbing Mingyu’s hand on impulse. The vacation house was a little further down, away from the main road where the bustop was located. But when they got there, Mingyu stared with his mouth agape, scanning the beautiful canopy surrounding the vacation house.

“It’s a beauty isn’t it?” Wonwoo smiled, his eyes glued onto Mingyu’s astounded look. You’re beautiful too. Wonwoo tugged on Mingyu’s hand, and the two proceeded into the house, and a tour around the place was given. The first level had a home theatre, console games room and a kitchen that was connected to the large garden. Mingyu insisted on visiting the garden before anything, and Wonwoo didn’t have the heart to refuse him.

Spring was coming to its end, the cherry blossoms have all fallen to the ground, painting the greenish grass patch with its pale pinkish petals. As they stepped into the garden, the light sweet smell of cherry blossoms filled the air. Mingyu’s hand slackened, pulling out of Wonwoo’s grasp as he wandered off, standing under the cherry blossom trees.

Wonwoo stood at the same position as he watched Mingyu prance around, enjoying the flowers that were falling off the tree. How is he so innocent? Prancing around, playing with those flowers like a child would. You would think this kid knows nothing of the evil world we live in, when in actual fact, he lived through one of the worst events a child could ever have. But then, maybe that’s what attracted my attention. His pure interpretation of this world. So different from me. He truly showed me that there will always be hope.

“Come here! It’s really pretty!” Mingyu gleamed, waving for Wonwoo to join him. The older strolled over, hands in his pocket. He was only a few steps away, but he stopped, pulling out his phone to capture a picture of Mingyu grinning brightly under the sun, with petals scattered on the top of his head.

“We should totally make cherry blossom angels!” Wonwoo suggested, taking that few steps towards Mingyu.

“Cherry blossom angels? How do you do that?” Mingyu asked, his eyes twinkling with excitement. He loved spring. April was his favourite month of the year. The month where cherry blossoms graced every pavement, and the month of his birthday. In addition, the month where Wonwoo and him got together.

“Ah!” Mingyu squealed as Wonwoo tackled him to the ground. Mingyu wanted to question the older, not knowing why he was attacked all of a sudden, but the beautiful sky took his breath away. They were both laying on their backs, staring at the luscious white clouds floating by in the blue sky.

“Cherry blossom angels can be made like snow angels. Just flap your arms up and down and move your legs.” Wonwoo laughed, breaking the silence. Mingyu did as he was told, trying to create his very own cherry blossom angels as Wonwoo watched while lying on his side, propping his head up on his hand.

“If I were to be honest, there’s no need to make an angel…you’re already one.” Wonwoo whispered. Mingyu stopped flailing around amongst the petals, staring up at the sky, pretending like he didn’t hear Wonwoo. The occasional chills of spring balanced out the warmth embracing him by the sun beams, but his ears were burning from that one single comment from Wonwoo. Mingyu could feel Wonwoo staring at his side view intensely, and it made him hesitate, not wanting to turn around to face the older. He didn’t know if the older was teasing him as always, and he didn’t want to find out.

“Mingyu-ah…” Wonwoo called out, in hopes of the younger turning around to look at him.

“Yeah hyung?” Mingyu answered, still staring straight up at the sky.

“No, don’t call me hyung. That’s just weird.” Wonwoo scrunched his nose, showing displeasure at the formality.

“Huh? But that’s how I address you all the time?” Mingyu raised a brow, finally turning on his side to look at the older.

“That was before we got together. I’m your boyfriend now…so there’s no need to be so formal.” Wonwoo reasoned, the tiny goosebumps on his arms raised. It feels…so weird to call myself his boyfriend. But in a nice way. Almost like he belongs to me.

“O-Oh…then w-what do you want me to address you as?” Mingyu’s eyes darting around, not willing to lay his eyes on Wonwoo for another extra second. For some reason, he felt extremely shy hearing Wonwoo say that he was his boyfriend out loud.

“Oppa?” Wonwoo laughed, earning a punch on his chest.

“Not funny.” Mingyu huffed, turning the other way, back facing Wonwoo.

“Alright…sorry cutiepie.” Wonwoo pulled Mingyu to face him again.

“How about…Wonnie? Or…babe? Which one do you prefer?” Wonwoo smirked, hovering ove
