Chapter 11- Still Confused

As Mingyu sat in the living room of their dorm, he heard someone typing in the passcode to their door. It can’t be Soonyoung hyung and Seokmin…they said that they were going on a date…? But who else knows our passcode…?

“Hey Gyu! Urgh…I had such a long day. You won’t even believe how tiring paper works get…” Jeonghan went on blabbering about his long day, not even noticing how quiet the younger was.

“Hello? Were you even listening to me?” Jeonghan laughed when he saw how lost Mingyu looked when he asked a question.

“Wait…how did you know the passcode to our dorm…?” Mingyu asked, a frown etched onto his face.

“H-huh? It’s your birthdate isn’t it…? I saw it when Soonyoung brought us here the first time. Plus I didn’t know if you were home yet…so I decided to come in by myself.” Jeonghan shrugged his shoulders.

“Since when…did I tell him my birthdate…?” Mingyu whispered to himself as Jeonghan walked off into their kitchen, saying that he was hungry after a long day of work.

At this point in time, Mingyu was feeling a little creeped out. He swore he had never told Jeonghan or Soonyoung his birthdate. The only people who knew were his old friends from high school which includes Seokmin. But Seokmin was the kind of friend who would never reveal anything about another person unless they’re comfortable with it. They were friends for long enough that Seokmin knows Mingyu needs respect for his privacy, so he never tells anyone anything about Mingyu unless they asked him themselves. And that included Soonyoung. Although he was friends with Jeonghan, he has always felt a little uncomfortable around the older. The first time they met, Jeonghan literally scanned Mingyu up and down with his eyes, getting a little too close to him with skinship. When Mingyu brought it up to Soonyoung, the older merely brushed it off saying that Jeonghan acted like that to all his friends and Mingyu shouldn’t be too concerned about it. Jeonghan was always overprotective over Mingyu, wanting to interfere in every aspect of his life.

Everytime he wrestled with Soonyoung and Jisoo during their sleepovers, Jeonghan would come over and stop them, saying that it was dangerous. Whenever Seokmin, Soonyoung and him were talking amongst themselves, laughing at their inside jokes, Jeonghan would come along and ruin the atmosphere. Mingyu wasn’t being mean, but Jeonghan literally didn’t understand at least half of their jokes. He would always ask one of them to break it down and explain to him. Also, it was no secret that Mingyu was one of the best cooks amongst them, thus he was always in charge of cooking their meals during sleepovers. However, Jeonghan would always volunteer to help Mingyu out, despite him not doing anything except meddle around with whatever Mingyu was doing at the moment and also eating whatever he could. If it weren’t for the fact that Jisoo and Jeonghan were together, Mingyu would have thought that Jeonghan had a major crush on him.

“Yah. What’re you thinking about?” Jeonghan asked, wrapping an arm around Mingyu’s shoulder.

“We need to talk about something.” Mingyu shrugged his way out of Jeonghan’s grasp.

“Erm sure…Look Gyu…I’m sorry about saying those thing about that guy yesterday. He just looked really shady…” Jeonghan said, flopping on the sofa comfortably.

“I’m not the one you need to apologize to hyung…and that’s not all you should be apologizing for…” Mingyu glared.

“Huh? What else did I do?” Jeonghan asked, raising a brow curiously.

“Come on hyung…seriously? Just admit it already. Don’t make me call you out on it…” Mingyu sighed. Jeonghan merely stared into the space before him, not knowing which one Mingyu was talking about.

“W-wait…so you know?” Jeonghan asked, fear of his intentions getting exposed.

“Come on hyung…I saw and heard with my own eyes…can we just start telling the truth?” Mingyu groaned.

“I…really have no idea what you’re talking about here Gyu…?” Jeonghan has this confused look plastered on right now and Mingyu was getting really annoyed. It was the last straw.

“Hyung stop acting like you’re innocent. I know you hit Wonwoo. Tell me why the you did that.” Mingyu hissed, ruffling his hair as he stood before the older. He was so close to punching the daylight out of Jeonghan.

“…H-how did you know…? Mingyu. Please tell me you didn’t go see him again…” Jeonghan asked, desperation dripping off his tone.

“Seriously hyung…we’re in the same faculty. What makes you think that I wouldn’t see him? And I’m a freaking adult for crying out loud. Why would I not meet him just because you said so?” Mingyu was so tired of people trying to control his life. Why? Why were they all trying to control him like he was their puppet? The real question is: Why was he so obliged to doing whatever they told him to?

“Okay look. I know what I did that day was overboard. I shouldn’t have hit him. But Mingyu-ah! There was no way I could have let him off after he broke your heart! Those things he said was so hurtful! Can’t you see that the two of you are not meant for each other? Stop sticking to him like he’s such a precious treasure.” Jeonghan got up from the sofa, approaching Mingyu.

“See. You said the exact same thing he did. And you hit him for hurting me with his words? What an irony huh.” Mingyu answered, taking a few steps backwards.

“Mingyu…you don’t understand…He wouldn’t allow for that to happen…you’ll just end up getting hurt. And the worst case scenario is the two of you getting hurt.” Jeonghan tried to explain when Seokmin and Soonyoung came busting into the dorm.

“H-hey hyung…what’s happening? Are we interrupting…something?” Soonyoung asked when he noticed the tension in the living room.

“He? Who? I don’t know what you’re trying to say now…” Mingyu’s brows clenched together in confusion. Who was this person Jeonghan was bringing up now? And why wouldn’t He allow things to happen between Wonwoo and Mingyu?

“Erm guys? Hello?” Soonyoung called out when Mingyu blatantly ignored his presence.

“Mingyu…I promise I would never do anything to hurt you or make you feel upset. I only want to make sure that you’re safe…I-I’ll talk to you about this another day…when you’re feeling better…” Jeonghan gave a sad smile before he picking up his bag, leaving the dorm with lots of words unspoken.

He wanted to tell Mingyu so badly, but he knew the younger would probably freak out and not believe him. There was no way Mingyu would trust what he was about to say before Soonyoung and Seokmin came back. Mingyu trusted and loved Him too much. The only other way Jeonghan could make sure that Mingyu never gets together with Wonwoo, was to approach Wonwoo and tell the other. But in order for that to happen, he had to stay calm and take a cool-headed approach.

“Erm…what happened while we were gone?” Soonyoung asked, ignoring the soft hits his boyfriend was giving him.

“Nothing.” Was all Mingyu said before he returned to his room.

“I swear…something happened between them…Oh yeah Minnie! Hurry go get changed! We still have that movie date!” Soonyoung said as he pulled his shirt over his head. Seokmin forgot to bring extra clothes to change after his surprise dance practice crash at Soonyoung's dance practice room, and so they decided to head back to the dorm. They didn’t expect to catch Mingyu and Jeonghan quarrelling.

“Erm…Youngie…how about we stay home for that movie date instead? I don’t think we should leave Gyu at home alone…I don’t feel good about doing that…” Seokmin hesitated when he saw the expressions on Soonyoung’s face drop a little.

“Okay! I was feeling a little tired anyways. I’ll order pizza then…and you can go talk to him for awhile?” Soonyoung suggested, giving his boyfriend a comforting smile.

“Thank you for being so understanding…I’ll make it up to you another day…” Seokmin grinned, giving his boyfriend a quick peck on the lips before darting off to Mingyu’s room.

“…Gyu? It’s me…” Seokmin called out as he peeked his head through the door. He could see Mingyu’s figure laying on his bed, back facing the door.

“…Hey…what’s wrong?” Seokmin asked, closing the door behind him. He squinted his e
