Flickering Candle (HIATUS)
Description
“Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering…” –Henry Ward Beecher
[18] – The age where you finally move onto a new phase in life. From high school students to college students. Some adapting well, others not so.
[18] – The age where everything in your life changes and spirals, some ending up in negativity, others channel and find that little glimpse of positivity.
[18] – The age where you realize that not everything goes your way and you’ll have to compromise in order for things to work your way.
[18] – The age where you perhaps realize that perhaps love isn’t your main priority.
Now that 4 of them are turning 18 soon, becoming college students, leaving their comfort zones for the very first time. Soonyoung moves out of the orphanage while Jihoon, Wonwoo and Jun move out of their homes into the dorms located on campus. They learn that college isn’t just made up of staying up till the crack of dawns rushing and completing assignments. Juggling social life, academics and sleep isn’t as easy as it seems. Parties, club activities, assignments, part-time jobs and the list just keeps going on and on. 24 hours a day isn’t enough. It’s tough enough to find time for sleep, what’s more going on dates?
Mingyu and Wonwoo have never been apart for more than a day ever since they made up back when Mingyu was in freshman year. They would either see each other in school, at work during the holidays or during one of their lazy dates. Now that Wonwoo is enrolled in Seoul National University, Mingyu wouldn’t be able to catch a glance on the older in school. To make things worse, Wonwoo is moving out to one of the dorms on campus.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Putting the limits of your trust and love to the test. How many will withstand the challenge and how many will break?
Foreword
“Why would you want to move out to a dorm? The college is only like half an hour away from your place! You’ll be staying with some weird guy who is probably going to flirt with you all the time…” Mingyu whined, tugging Wonwoo’s sleeves as the older filled in an application form on his computer.
“Babe…we’ve talked about this. I don’t want to depend on mum and dad anymore. Plus, not every single guy I meet in my life is bound to play for the same team.” Wonwoo laughed, ruffling Mingyu’s hair.
“That’s worse! What if he brings girls home?! I don’t want any other girls touching MY property…” Mingyu complained, placing his head on Wonwoo’s lap as he looked up at the older with a pout on his face.
Mingyu never thought he would hate college life to the extent of wanting to lodge a complaint or simply burning the school down. Why couldn’t Wonwoo just take a gap year just so Mingyu could attend college at the same time as him? Wonwoo merely found his boyfriend’s reactions adorable and entertaining.
Heeeeeyyyy~ Guess whose back as promised with the sequel to Orphanage Lovers? Thanks to your support and love, I've decided to write a sequel (was totally unplanned when I first wrote Orphanage Lovers). All I can tell you about this sequel is that more drama is about to go down, alongside waves of emotions going up and down like a roller coaster. ;DDD So be prepared with your boxes of tissues because. SADISTIC ME. IS BACK. *rolls sleeves*
