You walked through the halls, looking for your locker. You had to put all your textbooks away, they were getting heavy and you couldn’t bear to take those unnecessary books home. Your neighbor was beside you as he put his own textbooks away.

You noticed something had been off about him lately, it didn’t help that you had been friends since birth and you had a crush on him since puberty. “Namjoon, are you okay?” You asked him for the fifth time today.

You noticed the dark circles under his hands and how he kept his hands clenched in fists at his sides. He had been constantly looking around as he kept his hands on his sides all day. It was unnatural, he liked to throw his arm around your shoulders just to make you nervous.

He hadn’t even come close to you all day, and Namjoon was the clingy type especially with how comfortable the two of you were with each other. 

“Yes, I’m fine.” He replied back to you. “It’s fine.” He closed his locker and moved to walk home, waiting for you to follow.

You sighed, “Namjoon, I know something is wrong.” You told him but he let the both of you walk in silence as you reached the school gates. He kept a chilly two foot distance between the two of you. 

He ran his hand through his hair as he loosened his school tie, “I.. _____. It’s nothing.” He muttered, shaking his head.
