Because the phone had been ringing continually, Hyesung had switched it off. He couldn’t listen to it anymore. He startled every time it rang. People were calling him. They were calling him to congratulate him, to interview him, to insult him. He didn’t want to answer. He didn’t want to hear. He didn’t want to listen.

Hyesung had closed his internet connection as well. He didn’t want to see his face and body in any news articles. He didn’t want to see his name. He didn’t want to see comments. He didn’t want to see anything. He sat in his dark apartment and cried.

Eric had ended up betraying him. It was possibly his sick revenge. Hyesung had played with the photographer’s heart and this was Eric paying back. Maybe conceiving a child was part of that sick plan too. Even so, Hyesung felt like he had deserved it. He had played with Eric’s feelings, even though he had been in love with him. He had just needed better.

Hyesung had wanted to be much more successful. Ergo, he had dumped Eric when the opportunity had come. As a model, he had gotten a lot of love calls from different people: CEOs, actors, film directors, and many more. When Eric was out of the picture, Hyesung could do anything. That led him to an engagement with a CEO of a small but influential company. Mulling over all of this, Hyesung realised what a douche he had been.

Eric should have never come to him. They should have gone their separate ways. Though, if he had not come back—Hyesung placed his hands onto the big stomach and sighed. How angry could Hyesung be to Eric? Even if this had been part of the big humiliation and the plan to betray Hyesung, Hyesung was more than just happy. He felt like crap, but knowing he was going to have something for the rest of his life, it made him feel over the moon.

The doorbell kept ringing too.

Interviewers had come and gone from the apartment, thinking Hyesung was either hiding or out of town, whichever was more his style. Everyone expected him to have left the town and never come back. That did sound like something Hyesung did. “Yah, open the door!”

“Kangta?” Hyesung plodded to the door and opened it ajar.

“Let me come in.” Kangta said. “I shooed away all the press.” he smiled widely.

Hyesung let his best friend come inside. “Where have you been? I have not seen you in weeks!” He engulfed Kangta, who hated being hugged, into a tight bear hug.

“Me and Jihoon were on a trip.” Kangta answered. “It was nice,” he smiled again.

Hyesung envied him. He looked rested and tanned. His hair was lighter colour (it changed colour more than Hyesung changed his socks) and he looked much more youthful. Kangta walked inside and sat down to the armchair. He lifted his legs up and waited that Hyesung was sitting down as well. “You have no idea how shocked I was when I stepped out of the plane and your face paraded everywhere.” Kangta said.

Hyesung snorted.

“So, Eric, huh?” Kangta sounded apologetic. “He turned out to be an in the end. Bummer, I really did like him.” he reached his hand to Hyesung’s and rubbed it.

“Nah, I’m not angry at Eric,” If Hyesung could describe shock on Kangta’s face, it was that look on his face right now. “I know this was just a revenge. I did way worse for him. He was humiliated when I dumped him and got engaged after a month. He didn’t leave his apartment in months. I deserved it.” Hyesung spoke.

Kangta leered at him. “Are you serious?” He interrogated.

“Yes,” Hyesung nodded, confused. “I am serious.”

“Wow,” Kangta leaned back. “You are in love with him, aren’t you?”

Hyesung gasped so hard he had to cough. His heart was in his throat so he felt like vomiting. “No! Why would you say that?!” his voice was high-pitched. “I’m not…in love with Eric. I like him, but I’m not…in love with him.”

“Hyesung,” Kangta chuckled. “You never stopped loving him.”

Hyesung opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He didn’t know what to argue to that. Kangta was staring at him, that know-it-all look on his face. He had been married for 5 years or something like that, and he and Hyesung had been friends since childhood. Kangta knew Hyesung too well. Now he was wrong though!

“You’re wrong,” Hyesung stood up.

“I know I’m not, but you can lie to yourself if that makes you feel better,” Kangta sang.

“Argh,” Hyesung growled. “Fine! I might have never stopped loving him, but he stopped loving me, and that’s the end of this discussion.” he walked to the kitchen. He wanted to eat something. He was hungry.

“You aren’t even sure if he is behind all of this,” he leaned to the cabinet. “He might be as clueless as you. I mean, he would never go so far and impregnate you just for revenge.” Hyesung closed the fridge door angrily. “
