Caption: One sunny morning in Guangzhou...

Yifan pulls up into an underground parking lot with Chanyeol sleeping next to him in the passenger seat. Once he turns off the engine he turns to look at the younger man. A small smile breaks on his face and he brings his hand to gently ruffle the messy mop of hair.

“Chanyeol-ah, we are here.”

Mi Sun: Oh, are they at his mother’s place?

Eric Nam: I’m getting anxious, I don’t even know why.

“What?” Chanyeol groggily opens his eyes and looks around the cemented walls around him. Soon his eyes widen with realization and he sit up straight.

“Ready to go in?”

“Um,” Chanyeol looks to be little panicked, “can you give me a moment.” He opens the sun visor and fixes his hair. Yifan looks on with a fond smile and helps out when Chanyeol has a hard time fixing the back of his head.

“Ready.” Chanyeol finally announces when he is satisfied with his look. Yifan nods and they exit the car.

Chanyeol: I came prepared. But right before we went in I just had cold feet out of nowhere. I was so glad that hyung was there with me, he had to push me through the beginning.

Yifan: Because I actually met his parents I knew what he was feeling and I did my best to support him and show my appreciation for his excitement to meet my mother. She means the world to me and it’s really special that now Chanyeol is going to meet her. Two of my favorite people are meeting each other.

Choa: Omo, this is so official. Fighting, Chanyeol-ah!

Chanyeol has two giant bags in one hand and Yifan’s hand in his other. Yifan guides them to his mother’s apartment. Once they reach the black metal door Yifan stops Chanyeol by his shoulders and looks him in the eyes.

“Take a breath.”

Chanyeol nods his head and does as he is told. He closes his eyes and takes a moment before looking back at the man and nodding his head again.

Yifan rings the bell and in a second the door opens as a beautiful women with gentle features steps out to greet the men. Yifan breaks into a giant smile as he opens his arms and embraces his mother with much affection. The woman reciprocates and Chanyeol stands by to witness the sweet moment with a smile.

Mi Sun: She looks so young and beautiful.

Choa: Well, she did give birth to Yifan-oppa.

Yifan lets go of her and she turns to look at another tall man standing next to her son.

“Hello, I’m Chanyeol and it’s wonderful to finally meet you.” Chanyeol bows as he greets his mother-in-law with his best Mandarin.

Chanyeol: Hyung and I practiced some Mandarin the night before our flight. He took his time correcting my annunciations and I did my best to learn some new vocabulary. (He beams proudly)

“Chanyeol! Come my boy, enter and make yourself at home.” Yifan’s mom returns the smile and takes the younger man’s hands into her own. She pulls him into her house and Yifan follows after.

They walk through the living room until they reach the dining room with a giant round table filled with food. Both males eyes widen at the presentation and Yifan starts laughing.

Kyung Hwan: Waah~ Look at all that food!

Eric Nam: Eomeonim, I want some too.

Mi Sun: She must have prepared a lot to meet her son-in-law.

“My mom seems to really like you,” Yifan wraps his arm around Chanyeol’s waist and turn his attention back to his mother, “when did you have time to do all this? I don’t even get this much when I visit you?” There is a playfully hurt look on his face.

Yifan’s mom seems to see through her son’s actions and pulls the gaping man next to her towards a seat.

“Of course I would find time, I had a special guest coming over.”

Yifan: She is adorable. Actually, after I told her about the show she seemed a little sceptical because she wanted me to really date someone because, well, I’m not getting any younger.

Kyung Hwan: Ya! You’re still in your twenties.

Yifan: But after a while she started asking more and more about him and told me that she had been following his activities. (He laughs) My mom bought EXO’s CD! Can you believe it?

Mi Sun: Omo! Eomeonim is cute.

“Did she do all of this herself? I didn’t want her to get tired because of me.” Chanyeol looks at his husband sitting next to him with a worried look.

“Chanyeol is wondering if you did this all by yourself. He doesn’t want you to get tired just because of him.” Yifan easily translates as he begins to plate food for both himself and Chanyeol.

Yifan’s mom also participate in feeding her new son and smiles at Yifan’s question.

“Since you asked, nope. I wasn’t the only one cooking.”

Caption: There are more people?

Choa: Are we meeting more people?

“When I told some of my friends that you two were coming they all wanted to help cook for you guys, well, specifically for Chanyeol here.” She places her hand on Chanyeol’s forearm and Chanyeol looks on between mother and son as Yifan quietly translates everything.

Chanyeol smiles at the woman sitting next to him.

“Thank you very much.”

Yifan’s mom gently laugh at the boy who looks to be doing his best to enunciate his words.

“Well, isn’t he just adorable.”

Yifan doesn’t translate that but just nods his head in agreement and smiles at Chanyeol when the said man turns towards him when Yifan doesn’t tell him what his mother had said.

They continue eating and conversing to their best ability. Chanyeol takes every opportunity to use all of his Mandarin skills and both natives makes sure to correct and assist him. Their dinner sometimes resemble a small classroom as different phrases are repeated non stop with Yifan translating back and forth between Korean and Chinese.

Caption: Happiness is in the simple things...

Choa: They look so happy, I’m so happy that everything looks so happy.

Mi Sun: Yifa did really well when he met Chanyeol’s parents so I’m glad the same is true here.

Eric Nam: The food looks really good.

Kyung Hwan: Aigoo... I agree.

Everything is going well until Yifan’s phone begins to ring. He takes the noisy device out of his pocket to check the caller ID.

“I’m sorry mom, I have to answer this, it’s from work and they usually don’t call on my off days, so it seems important. Excuse me.” He stands up.

Chanyeol’s body noticeably tenses up and he looks up to his hyung with puppy eyes. Yifan can only chuckle.

“It’s work, I’ll be right back, okay?”

Chanyeol nods and his attention goes back to eating when Yifan’s mom place more food on his plate. Yifan quickly exits the room.
