Last week

‘Shhhh So Eun-ah, let me finish. I realized since meeting you that you are a woman who genuinely cares for people. You guard anyone who you care for, with a strange ferocity. I know I am still an outsider in your world, but I see that although you’re cute and daring you try to hide it because you’re shy and you’re worried that people would not accept you for who you are. For now that might be true, but this is the true you and I like that more than anything. Know that I will continue to support you and defend your ‘scary’ personality.’

He waited, expecting a dramatic scene, either crying or surprise from her. He would be happy if either happened.

But nothing happened, ‘am I right?’

She raised her eyebrows and said, ‘not even close. I choose that personality because people offer actresses more roles as an innocent girl. Not as a scary girl that I am.’

His jaw dropped.

She giggled, ‘But because you tried, I will let you have your wish. What do you want?’

He smiled cheekily, ‘Stand up.’

She frowned and stood up.

‘Give me a hand shake.’

She laughed, ‘is that all? You’re not using your wish very well…’

But she couldn’t finish before he pulled her into his arms.

‘You should be careful who you give your wishes to So Eun-ah,’ he said huskily into her hair.

He could feel her wriggle in his arms but he kept her there for a few minutes.
