It had been 7 days passed and Kyuhyun went back to Ryeowook’s house straightly after he finished his stuffs on school. He had no choice but to keep Ryeowook in the safest way he could find. He was Ryeowook’s only cousin cause Ryeowook’s mother didn’t any other sibling but his own father. Before his father died for car crash accident, he told Kyuhyun that every hospital thing was already been paid by Ryeowook’s families. That was when he turned 13 years old, and he became close to Ryeowook who lost Jongwoon a year before ever since.

He was staring at his cousin who he knew that he was unwanted by his family for being sick and weak since he was born. He was overheard accidentally when Ryeowook mother told his cousin that she wished she had a healthy son like him. he was there when Ryeowook fell on the floor and cried alone as his mother left back to US. He couldn’t do anything but hugged him. he was mean when they were still in elementary school and he kept bullying Ryeowook for always being home when he could go everywhere he wanted.

He smiled when he reminisced how cute Ryeowook was when he was around 8 cause he remembered how chubby his cousin was. then he saw Ryeowook became happier on the day he met Jongwoon at the big house when both of them played at the tree house. No one ever showed their interests to Ryeowook but it never stopped Jongwoon for being curious about his cousin. He even believed they would be best friends before a fatal heart attacked happened when Ryeowook turned 12 and it was the day Jongwoon needed to move to Chung-Nam.

you’ve been through a lot, Ryeowook… no wonder you have a weak body… cause you’ve been in worst condition…

tears fell on Kyuhyun’s cheeks as he memorized everything. It was a truth that Ryeowook had been passing so many difficulties in his life. Even when he tried to socialize with another friend he wanted to have on school, he failed for it too. Kyuhyun sighed and moved closer to fix the blanket, let it covered Ryeowook fully. The respirator from the hospital was moving too slow for Kyuhyun and he knew it wasn’t a good thing.

“fight for your life, Ryeowook… please… do it for me.. do it for yourself… or do it for Jongwoon… he’s waiting for you at school.. [laughed] I want to tell him about you but I don’t want to break my promise to you.. hmmm.. get better, okay? let’s hangout to Jeju or somewhere cool.. just fight! don’t give up, okay?”

He kept trying to talk to Ryeowook for the last several days since he went unconscious a week ago but how often Kyuhyun tried to lie to his cousin, the heavier he got. He saw Mrs. Lee came to the room and brought some clothes for Ryeowook. he smiled to her and felt so relieved when the old lady hugged him, just to make sure Kyuhyun wouldn’t give up on Ryeowook.

“you do your best, Kyuhyun… thank you… I think it’s up to him now… he should fight to be back to his life..”

Kyuhyun didn’t reply but he only cried on Mrs. Lee’s shoulder.

Ryeowook opened the window on his bedroom and smiled when he looked outside. A humid air attacked him as soon as the cold wind touched his face. The misty garden in front of him brought him back to a memory he never be able to forget. He looked over the stable next to his house, someone was playing on a swing that stood tall beside his precious tree house. He wondered who it was and he immediately grabbed a soft jacket before he made his way out of his room.

There was no one on the house as he looked around and Ryeowook hurriedly open the front door. The cold wind re-attacked him and as reflex, he closed the jacket tightly. he walked faster to reach the tree house area and he heard a laugh. He went closer and the kid who played on a swing smiled to him.

“hi… do you live here?”

Ryeowook nodded slowly before he replied, “yes… why?”

“are you happening to know a kid like me with the name Ryeowook? but… he’s a bit chubby.. but he’s cute..”

Ryeowook knew in sudden that this handsome kid was asking about him. he didn’t know why this kid knew him when he was chubby years ago. He knew he shouldn’t say that he was Ryeowook.

“I don’t know about him… who are you by the way? I never see you around.”

“oh… sorry… [jumped off the swing] my name is Jongwoon.. Kim Jongwoon.. [lifted his hand] who are you?”

Ryeowook choked, didn’t think the kid was the friend he long to find. Still shock cause he forgot how Jongwoon looked, he accepted the hand and said, “my name is Kim.. you can call me that… nice to meet you, Jongwoon.”

“how old are you? you’re tall…”

“I’m not that tall, kid… I’m seventeen years old..”

“so you’re a hyung then… I’m still twelve.. Ryeowook is also twelve years old… [looked around] where is he anyway?”

“since when you’re waiting for him? I mean… Ryeowook…”

“I come here every day but I can’t find someone to talk… it’s been eight days… I don’t know where he is… [sighed] we used to play there before we snatched this sway from each other..”

At that time, Ryeowook knew that he went to the day where he was in hospital and Jongwoon played himself in his enormous yard in front of his house. He really wanted to hug his friend but he knew it would be weird if he did that. he had no choice but trying to say what was on his mind.

“maybe… your friend has something to do… I mean… he will be here if he’s not busy, right?”

“of course… we’ve been playing together for two years… even…”

“what? even what?”

“he doesn’t look happy for the last few days… I don’t know why… he won’t tell me a thing… I told him everything and I promise to look after him too… but maybe he doesn’t trust me that much..”

Ryeowook caressed Jongwoon’s black hair and smiled to him. “if you are his friend… I’m sure he trusts you.. but like I said earlier… maybe he has something he couldn’t share to you.. give him times… he will tell you everything.”

“but I don’t know how long I will stay, hyung… I see mom packs things this morning… she said, dad got a new job far from here… I think… they will take me with them… [sighed] I wish…”

“yes?”

“I wish I could talk to Ryeowook now… I want to ask him if I can stay here with him.. I don’t want to leave him alone…”

The respirator on right side of where Ryeowook was laying beeped a bit loud and it woke Kyuhyun up. He looked at it carefully and he saw Ryeowook made a slight movement. He sat on the bed and touched Ryeowook’s hand, wished his cousin to open his eyes. He waited… but nothing happened.

“Ryeowook… would you please come back? I want to fight with you again.. this house is empty without you around. Let’s talk about Jongwoon… he got a spot on basketball team.. I heard this news today. don’t you want to see him play? come on! wake up! let’s watch the game together…”

There was no reaction from Ryeowook and the respirator went back like what happen in ten days again. He sighed deeply before he went out of the room, still wondered what happened to his cousin on his long sleep until the respiratory responded for the first time.

did he meet Jongwoon inside his dream? or… did he kiss Jongwoon? Should I tell everything to Jongwoon?

he took orange juice and a chocolate bars from the fridge before he walked back to Ryeowook’s room. He stared Ryeowook again and this time, his closed eyes were moving frantically. Kyuhyun came closer to the bed and he could feel Ryeowook moved a little.

“Ryeowook… can you hear me? what’s going on there? fight it, Ryeowook! come back, please…”

Ryeowook walked in a large prairie with a little of sunset in front of him. he didn’t know where he was but it felt like he was around his house even he knew it wasn’t. he climbed the top of the prairie and he saw someone was standing under a large tree. He wanted to scream but it wasn’t polite to hear and it made him closer.

“excuse me… may I know where we are?”

That man turned and Ryeowook moved backward when he saw something he didn’t want to see. it was Jongwoon, the one who stood in front of him but he wasn’t alone. He was holding a hand even he couldn’t see whose hand it was. Jongwoon was smiling at him before he turned again. Ryeowook saw Jongwoon pulled the hand closer and then a white veil covered a face was seen clearly.

“are you married, Jongwoon?”

He saw his friend turned and nodded to his question. “yes I am… that’s why we’re here, right?”

“but… but… I have feelings for you.. I want to say it to you..”

“Ryeowook… we’re friends.. I love you as a friend.. and… you’re gone.. I never saw you again.. you disappeared without words to me..”

“I… I have reasons, Jongwoon.. I… I’m…”

“I’m sorry, Ryeowook.. I guess my wife is waiting for me.. see you..”

Kyuhyun heard the beep again and he saw Ryeowook tried to breathe normally. Ryeowook was trying hard and when he panicked, Kyuhyun saw Ryeowook suddenly sat with his eyes wide opened. He walked closer and stopped Ryeowook from taking the respiratory off of him.

“don’t do it! [Ryeowook saw him] Ryeowook… can you hear me?”

“where are we? Jongwoon… he’s married.. Kyuhyun… the man I love is married..”

“no… it’s not……….”

Kyuhyun couldn’t continue his words when Ryeowook fell backward and as soon as his head touched the pillow, he was unconscious again.

Kyuhyun accompanied the doctor out of the large house after he took care of Ryeowook. he said Ryeowook had big fights with his memories that made his condition got worst or better. He also told Kyuhyun that probably what happened inside the coma was the thing Ryeowook wanted or feared the most. That time, Kyuhyun understood quickly about what the doctor said.

so you are in a war between your thoughts, facts and what you want to be happening… I wish Jongwoon never came into your life.. perhaps everything will get easier… please fight for your life, Ryeowook…

Kyuhyun ran back to where he used to sleep for ten days and when he entered the room, he jumped out to find Ryeowook’s eyes were opened. he got closer to the bed, he saw tears flew from Ryeowook’s eyes and he held his cousin’s hand.

“hey… Ryeowook… can you hear me?”

Ryeowook took off the respiratory from his nose and smiled to Kyuhyun.

“I’m tired, Kyuhyun… I’m tired in fixing everything… I won’t change a thing.. I think it’s me the one who unwanted in this world…”

“don’t say something like that! you have me! you have everyone in this house.. we love you, cousin.. come on!”

“no… I don’t have anyone… even I couldn’t keep someone I love the most… my parents don’t want me to be their son and they chose you more.. [sobbed] I’m tired, Kyuhyun… and this heart is tired too.. that’s why it keeps screaming in pains.. the pains I couldn’t take anymore.”

“would you please stop saying that rubbish? It’s already late… you want to eat something? or you want to drink orange juice? I know you like it..”

“no… I just want to disappear..”

“would you tell me what happen? you’re gone for ten days.. I don’t like it at all, Ryeowook..”

“get use to it, Kyuhyun.. I don’t know how long I will stay in this world.. but I can feel my condition is getting worst..”

“let’s just sleep.. I will sleep here on the couch.. don’t think too much, okay?”

He stared at Ryeowook again who didn’t do any reply to what he said cause all he did was staring at the ceiling with tears that never stop flowing. He wanted to hug Ryeowook so much but all the medical stuffs dismissed what he planned. He took the pillow before placed it behind his head and as minutes passed by, his eyes were starting to close.

Kyuhyun was about to leave the school when a hand stopped his feet and he turned around. He saw Jongwoon smiled awkwardly to him and he acted cocky in sudden.

“what?”

“where’s your boyf… I mean friend.. your friend..”

“they are here… look! can’t you see?”

He knew he pissed Jongwoon off when he told that every student on their school was his friends.

“I mean… the one who always stick with you… Kim Ryeowook.. mmm… where is he? he’s absent for eleven days..”

“why you ask about him? is he important to you in sudden?”

“no… it’s not like that.. it’s just.. I haven’t say sorry after what happened at the basket court..”

“like I said.. it wasn’t your fault.. Ryeowook has a weak body.. that’s why…”

“but… is he okay?”

“I hope so… I hope he will be okay…”

what the is that? why he couldn’t answer me properly? Damn it! Who the he think he is?

Jongwoon kept cursing when Kyuhyun left him in front of the school gate without any clue of what happen to Ryeowook. he went to where Eunhyuk and his mates were and climbed on the car when he decided to go back home.

“guys…  do you think we can have the same name around Seoul?”

“yaaa… what kind of question is that? [hit Jongwoon’s shoulder] of course… how many people have Kim Kibum as their names? or perhaps Lee Jonghyun… why you bringing this up?”

“hmmm… I used to have friend here when I was a little… but I don’t know where he is now…”

“you don’t remember his address?”

“hmmmm…… I’m not sure.. I was ten years old back then… I only remember there was a tree house and a swing on the front yard… the house was big enough like a castle… but I don’t know where it was… I forgot..”

“are you in need of finding this friend?”

“no… don’t mind that.. just something popped out in my head.”

I guess my Ryeowook isn’t the same with my classmate Ryeowook.. they’re definitely two different people.. my Ryeowook is chubby and cute.. while he was a weak sad gloomy guy… he is not the Ryeowook I know.. get him out of your mind, Jongwoon!

There was an ambulance in front of the black door of
