Ryeowook turned his face when he heard Sungmin called for his name from the door and smiled. he opened his lips, formed “YES” as his answer then he heard again.

“do you want me to buy you something? I will go to canteen.. I haven’t seen you eat something since morning..”

Ryeowook wrote something on the paper in front of him and showed it to Sungmin. I’m not hungry. but thanks for asking.

“you sure you don’t want to have something? [Ryeowook nodded] okay then.. I’ll go to canteen first.. see you”

Ryeowook nodded and smiled, allowing his classmate to leave the class and took his eyes back to the book he read. he tried to focus but his mind went blank then he reminisce everything.

it’d been a while since he walked out from junior high school and being treated equally at the school he went now. worst thing he had during his teenager’s time but everything came to an end on the first pledge day. no one laughed about his condition, instead they were curious and welcomed him in the end. he felt that he belonged to the school until a year passed and he entered his second year.

Ryeowook smiled a little while staring at the sky. mom… dad… wherever you are.. I miss you.. please send my regard for hyung too..

“Ryeowook?”

he turned to look for the voice that called his name again. he smiled. it was Kyuhyun, another classmate he had.

yes?

“have you finished your math? [Ryeowook nodded] do you mind if I borrow your homework? I haven’t finished it..”

he opened his bag, took out a book and handed it to the tallest student in his class while his lips tried to say ‘here’.

“I’m going to borrow this.. I’ll return it when the bell rings.. thanks, Ryeowook..”

nodded, he only replied with a smile.

“hey, Ryeowook.. have you heard that someone being transferred today to our school.. but he goes to the next class.. his name is Jongwoon.. every girls are shouting his name.. he’s handsome, you know..”

Ryeowook made a surprise look, wrote down something on paper. yeah? guess he is smart enough until he can moved here after three months passed..

“I don’t know, Ryeowook-ah.. he seems like a bad student.. he has an earring on his left ear..”

Ryeowook was walking through the corridor but stopped when he heard someone asking for a help. he brought his feet to the direction and stopped again as another voice heard.

“come on! just give me your money.. your friends told me that you are rich.. come on.. just give me some..”

“no.. you are rich too! your parents can afford you to school here.. why you asking for money then?”

“god damn it! shut up! low your voice! just give me the money.. I’m hungry..”

“no! I ca–“

Ryeowook witnessed everything from outside the room, saw someone on the floor while another one was standing with some money in his hands. he tried to identify the standing student but his face wasn’t familiar at all. he was hiding when the unknown boy walked out from the room, left the victim alone with a smile on his face. Ryeowook dared himself to leave his spot but got cut by the first year student that just got robbed.

“you! you saw everything right? [Ryeowook moved a step backward] I will report this to the teacher! you should be the witness!”

Ryeowook tried to open his lips, wanted to say something but nothing escaped. his eyes showed that he was afraid but he couldn’t say anything.

“you should help me! I won’t hide this.. I’ll tell to the headmaster.. [looked at the badge name] Ryeowook senior.. please help me, okay? don’t let this thing to be happen again to other students.. he needs to be punished.”

Ryeowook could only smile and nodded softly. he definitely didn’t know what to do…

he walked through the corridor again to the gate but he couldn’t walk when he found the student who asked the money from the first year student sat at the basketball court. he moved closer to see the other guy clearly and Ryeowook gulped. his eyes fell to black shining hair, then saw the amazing sharp eyes with perfect nose bones and thin reddish lips. his face turned to a worry after he witnessed the guy he hadn’t know the name yet was smoking continuously.

how could someone as perfect as him wasting his life to cigarettes? why his parents let their son to do this awful thing? and he doesn’t look poor at all.. why he has to asked money from other students? he is so mysterious…

he was still lost to the creature he staring carefully, got jumped when he heard noises he familiar with. just perfect! what are these guys doing here? I guess they won’t get rid of me anymore..

“well.. well.. well.. look! who we have here… it’s the mute boy.. the one who doesn’t have a voice to talk… [pushed Ryeowook’s shoulder] what are you doing here, loser?”

Ryeowook opened his lips… I’m just passing the court.. can’t I go here? this is my school too.. I –

“we can’t talk to a mannequin.. I don’t even know what you’re saying.. now get lost!”

Ryeowook fell to the ground after being pushed so hard and fear appeared on his face. he was about to gather his books and bag when he heard someone talk. “what is going on here? [looked at Ryeowook] why is he falling?”

“it’s nothing important, Jongwoon-ah… this guy is just a loser of the school.. he can’t talk.. no.. he is mute.. I guess he is shy of his own voice.. maybe it’s just too bad until he decides to hide it..”

“I guess it is.. let’s just leave him alone.. he’s not worth it all.. let’s get out and grab something to drink..”

Ryeowook looked up after lost his sight to the ground and his breath caught in his throat after his eyes met someone everyone called as Jongwoon. it was the guy he saw earlier, sitting alone at the court smoking cigarettes. God.. why he has to be here? Jongwoon? his name is Jongwoon? the one Sungmin talked about? it’s just perfect I have to end my day with him..

he tried to put a smile on his face but the gorgeous messy black hair walked away after his eyes found him once again.

God… his eyes are amazing.. the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever since.. why you have to be Jongwoon among all the students at this school?

it’d been two days after the accident as Ryeowook forgot about it clearly and continued his days like something wrong never happened. he found himself started like to staring at the student next to his class once in a while without a reason he knew. he just love to see him cause so far, he hadn’t find one yet around school that brave enough to have a style like that. it was the most careless style he’d ever seen and he liked it. he envied someone called Jongwoon for being so free to do things he wanted to do without a fear of everyone would think about him.

“hey… what are you thinking about? you seem zone out from this class..”

he smiled and opened his lips. nothing.. just thinking about something not important.. [smiled] you don’t go to canteen? you’re always hungry, Sungmin-ah..

even his classmate never had his voice out but Sungmin and others were understanding what Ryeowook said.

“I already went there before the break bell rang.. you really disappear from this class then until you didn’t realize that some of your classmates gone..”

Ryeowook smiled again. sorry… it’s just.. [smiled] I guess you’re right.. I must be gone from this class..

the brown hair in front of him, Sungmin replied, “it’s okay.. don’t you want to go to library? the last hours is empty.. Mrs. Lee isn’t arrive today..”

really? [Sungmin nodded] hmm.. okay.. I will go to the library.. I have books I need to return to the staff.. thanks for telling me this..

Ryeowook walked slowly with a headset on his ears as his lips mumbled to the song he was hearing. he looked around, seeing every single thing and blushed in sudden when he found the guy he wanted to see. he amazed on the way Jongwoon dribbling the ball and scored as it went to the net. he didn’t know why he was happy to hear everyone clapped for the action the new transferred student did. he just did.

so he likes basketball.. [smiled] he looks cool with his black shirt.. God.. what is happening to me? why he looks so amazing to me just now? I think it would be much better if I go back to the class..

he kept asking himself on his way to his seat but his name was being called at the moment he wanted to go back. he turned and his eyes widened when the first student from a couple days ago accident stood in front of him. he opened his lips, trying to say something. yes? what happen?

“senior.. hyungnim.. do you remember me? I’m the one who got hijacked two days ago.. I already reported the case.. the headmaster and physical teacher want to meet us after the bell rings.. they’ll call that jerk too.. will you help me?”

the first year student, that later he found out had Kim Yongsu as his name united his brows.

nodded, Ryeowook typed his screen again. I can talk but I can’t speak.. I lost my voice since I was 6. sorry, I can’t help.

“hmmm… what should I do then? [thinking] well, hyungnim should come.. just please come.. we will talk about it later with headmaster and Mr. Lee.”

he couldn’t say anything and in the end, Ryeowook nodded slowly. okay.

when Yongsu left his spot, he didn’t know why but he felt something wrong would happen.

Ryeowook came to a place that mentioned by Yongsu on the text he received when the bell rang. his heart told him not to go but he knew he couldn’t do it as promise already been said. he kept sighing until some friends noticed about it.

“ya… Ryeowook-ah.. what’s wrong with you? you seem in trouble.. is everything okay?”

faked a smile, he nodded, opened his lips and lifting his hands to explain. yes.. I’m fine.. thank you, guys..

“hey.. don’t say that.. we’re friends and we got the best team work cause we all are families.. if you have something, just tell  us.. we will help and figure out a way to help you.. you don’t have to be shy..”

smiled again, he tried to talk with his lips… I’m okay.. it’s just I have to meet headmaster after this.. I’m nervous.

“huh? what did you say? you’ll meet who?”

“headmaster, guys.. can’t you all read his lips?” Sungmin added in sudden.

Youngwoon did the high five with Sungmin and praised him, “definitely.. you’re the master in reading lips.. Ryeowook’s lips especially..”

“stop teasing him, Youngwoon-ah.. you want Sungmin kick your ?”

they laughed so loud and did high fives in between before Jungsoo screamed, “let’s go home then.. see you tomorrow, friends..”

the crowds suddenly disappeared and Ryeowook’s heart fell at lot cause at the moment he had to face what he didn’t like to do at all. he didn’t like being noticed by so many people cause the past he had was catching him up until he reached second year of high-school. he had a perfect reason why his voice couldn’t be heard and he didn’t want to talk about it. he looked so worry when he walked out from the class and few meters in front of him, he found Yongsu with two older men that happened to be the headmaster and physical teacher.

he was being called, told to hide himself as the headmaster gave him instruction to wait Jongwoon to come and Ryeowook followed it. he was hiding inside the classroom where all of the people were standing outside waiting for the suspect. his hands were shaking enough due to the nervousness he had. he really hated this kind of situation.. God.. why do I have to witnessed everything that day? why? why do I have to get involve to something like this? help me.. I don’t want to be in this situation..

he kept staying inside and listened to everything that said between four men as soon as Jongwoon came.

“why you did something terrible like that, Kim Jongwoon? is this why you got transferred to this school? you did something like this in your old school?”

“then why you did it? you’re not from a poor family.. your parents have two companies and they are also big.. don’t you have enough money until you have to robbed someone’s money? you have so much money than someone you robbed.. you’re embarrassing me..”

“I didn’t do anything that related to you.. and I’m not embarrassing you.. [put his hands to his pocket] and I don’t know this guy at all.. I’ve never met him.. he’s not something I have to remember..”

“wait! there’s someone who saw you robbed Yongsu’s money.. don’t lie to us anymore..”

a knock heard by the door and Ryeowook knew it was his time to go out.. when he walked from the class, his eyes fell to the messy black haired student who had his anger eyes on him as if they were burning him. “Ryeowook.. this is Jongwoon from two F.. is this the man you saw at the warehouse room the other day?”

Jongwoon cursed again and again while holding the letter for his parents, couldn’t stop thinking about the other student who showed to the headmaster and teacher about him. he hated him a lot and when he found out the name, he hated even more. who the is he? why he has to ruin everything? damn it! that Kim Ryeowook should be given some lessons to shut his mouth shut! I’ll destroy you, Kim Ryeowook! I won’t let you go before I give my revenge back to you! you won’t live your life normally! he walked slowly, looked around and smirked appeared on his face as he found someone he was waiting. he saw Ryeowook still collecting the books inside the class with no one else around. it’s time, Kim Ryeowook!

he walked in, smiled evilly when Ryeowook still hadn’t notice him and then closed the doors loudly. his action got attention from the only other guy inside the room and smirked again.

“so do I got your attention now? I still can believe you were there just to hand me in after my refusal to them.. I’m going to destroy you since tomorrow ahead.. I will never let you go again..”

Ryeowook only listened to the words but still shocked with the appearance of a man who in his mind was totally a magnificent one. then he heard the guy talked again.

“why don’t you say anything now? afraid? [walked closer] you should be! cause it’s true! I won’t let you go! you’ll be under my surveillance and I won’t stop until you suffer!”

Ryeowook opened his lips. why are you doing this? can you please stop acting stupid? this school is peaceful enough before you here.. but when you came.. those bad students are starting to disturb others again..

“huh? what did you say? why I can’t hear your voice? talk to me louder! I’m not a mind reader, you moron!”

Ryeowook took a paper, wrote something and then showed it to Jongwoon. I lost my voice since I was 6. everyone learns to read my lips when I talk.

“don’t lie to me! you may lie to others but you can’t lie to me..”

he pushed Ryeowook hard until the smaller guy hit the wall behind him and his eyes started to filled with tears.

Ryeowook stayed silence, waiting for the worst scenario but nothing happened. instead he just heard the other man mumbling to the room.

“I was just asking his money few days ago.. I’m thirsty and I had no money in my pocket.. I didn’t take it when I made my way to school.. is it wrong? I have money for God sake.. it’s just.. [sighed] that guy is an .. I didn’t take all his money.. just hundred won to buy an ice.. that’s all..”

he looked at Ryeowook and Jongwoon got a reply on a paper. you can just ask him nicely.. he will give you..

“give me? nicely? ! are you that innocent thinking someone will give what you ask just because you do it nicely? damn it, Ryeowook! no one will do it!”

he read what Ryeowook wrote on paper again. I will if you ask me to buy you a drink or ice cream.. only if you ask for it nicely.

“do you think this is funny?”

Ryeowook shook his head and smiled. he walked closer and drew a circle on Jongwoon’s chest. he whispered.

Ryeowook smiled and walked backward few steps, wrote something and gave it to Jongwoon. he took his bag and silently left the class as the messy black haired guy opened the folded paper.

I was afraid of you earlier but now I know that I don’t have to.. you are just like me.. maybe we have something we don’t want the world to know.. let’s walk to this life together.. make a friend, Kim Jongwoon. then you won’t get lonely.

the bell rang loudly signed every student could go back home after 9 hours being around school and friends of Ryeowook also couldn’t wait for it. the one who had the name was anxious, afraid of something bad would happen after he sent the challenge to Jongwoon. he didn’t see that student for all day even though their classes were close to each other and it made him worrier. he didn’t know what would happen but when the class was getting empty, he immediately followed his friends to walk out from the class.

once he reached the door, he turned his head to the left and his eyes widened as he saw Jongwoon with his friends were already waiting for him. he saw they were smirking and Ryeowook didn’t like it at all. confuse appeared as soon as the students were walking towards him but when he was about to fall as his leg couldn’t get the balance, a hand caught him and Ryeowook was so relief for that. he looked up, planned to say thank you but his words stuck when a handsome smile appeared before his eyes.

“like I said.. I don’t know what are you talking about.. [fixed Ryeowook] can you stand on your own?”

Ryeowook nodded and had his hand on the door, looked around and his heart shrieked when no one else left behind except him and those 5 boys of 2-F.

“yes.. he is.. his name is Ryeowook and the greatest thing is that he can’t speak properly..” Jongwoon said.

“we know about it.. he’s famous because of that..”
