Stay
I'm Sorry It Was YouI just wanted to disappear. The figure I had collided with bent down a little so they were at eye level with me. “Hey, are you ok?" There was something about the voice, it was...familiar. The person suddenly seemed to recognise who I was, “M-Mira?!”
I began shaking, with relief this time, when I peered up through my tear-filled eyes and recognised his face. “Se...hun...” I sobbed.
He looked over me before swallowing hard. “Shh!” he soothed me, “It’s ok, I’m here now.” My sobs continued and he sat down on the ground facing me, staring at my face intently.
I sat back onto my knees and covered my face with my hands, continuing to shake as violent sobs ripped through me. It felt like a relief to have him here. But still, what had actually just happened to me? It was like blur in my mind.
“What happened?” he asked quietly, seemingly hearing my thoughts. “Your head is bleeding." He stretched out a hand to check it, but I flinched away violently before he could, another sob escaping my body.
I couldn’t see his face through my tears, but I imagined it was concerned. When he spoke again, his voice was a lot darker, “Mira, what happened?”
Without saying a word, I glanced over my shoulder and just caught a glimpse of my attacker staggering his way into the distance. I shuddered violently when I saw him. Sehun followed my gaze, his eyes narrowing in on the man instantly and darkening. He didn’t ask for any further clarification after that. Standing up, he made to step around me, in the direction of the man. I didn’t even need to have a good imagination to guess what he was planning. I couldn’t be on my own though. "Don’t leave me…" I whimpered while trying to wipe away the tears that wouldn't stop. The idea of being alone now was not one I was handling well.
Sehun stopped walking as soon as I said this. Although I wasn’t looking at him, I knew he was staring at my convulsing back. Without even a second consideration, he was back beside me, bent down in front of me where I could clearly see his outline. “Don’t worry. I’m here, Mira.” The way he whispered my name was like someone had thrown me a lifeline after I had fallen into an icy sea. He began pulling the lifeline back to safety, “You're safe with me. I promise I won’t leave you alone."
Suddenly a heavy object was on my head, although a little startled by the motion, I was calmed instantly when I realised it was Sehun's hand. Sehun gently the top my head with his thumb as if I was a lost puppy; I guess he wasn’t completely wrong.
"Come on," he began, winding his hand into mine slowly and gently and rhythmically squeezing it. He got to his feet with slow and precise movements - probably not wanting to startle me. Stretching down once he was up, he clasped my other hand, helping me to get onto my shaking feet. "I’ll take you home."
Our hands stayed together, but I wasn’t sure which one of us it was that didn’t want to let go more. Despite his hand’s comfort, my legs still could not function as they should have and as a result I shook a little where I stood.
Before I could even do something to stop it, I began to collapse. The ground looked hard and I knew I was soft - this was going to be very painful. My fall was broken, however, by Sehun’s back which had managed to scoop under me. I tried to stand again but he squeezed my hand tightly. "Why do you have to be so stubborn? Just accept the help," he said quietly.
At this point, I was far too exhausted both mentally and physically to argue, so I let my head rest on his back. I could feel the contours of his muscles and bones as he repositioned himself and then hoisted me up until he was giving me a piggyback. It was so comfy and safe up there that I couldn’t bring myself to protest. He began to walk, his blonde hair tottered along in front of me in the most soothing motion. “It must be nice being this tall...” I yawned, suddenly sleepy from the movement. I heard him chuckle at me, stupid blonde kid that he was. It wasn’t long before I couldn’t fight the soothing, swaying motion of his steps or my own exh
