I'm Sorry It Was YouThe next morning I found myself in an entirely new situation. Never in my life had I had a set uniform to wear, and this one was awful to say the least. The shirt was too big, the blazer to small and the skirt was too long; not that I minded the modesty, but it was surely going to make me stand out. In order for this to work, I was not living in my normal house whilst attending this school. My father had bought a nearby penthouse on the condition, of course, that no one saw me going there. I had to pretend to be just an ordinary student, not the only daughter and heir to my father’s fortune.
Sighing, I got out of the car and was instantly met with stares. Looking down at myself, I thought I looked pretty normal; same uniform as everyone else, same rashly done hairstyle, same everything.
I internally shrugged, bided a begrudging farewell to my driver for the next few months and headed towards the shoddy looking building. This was going to be hell.
The first and foremost thing on my mind was to find Oh Sehun in the sea of students. He should have been quite obvious given his striking looks. I searched the faces in vain: everyone looked the same in this ugly uniform!
As I walked along I became very self-conscious. Not that I was super-confident normally, but it was hard when people were pointing and whispering about you constantly. I was clearly going to be today’s Star Attraction. Great.
Heading to my first class without any success finding Oh Sehun, I was in a really foul mood and missing my old school immensely. My mood wasn’t improved any when I was made to stand in front of the class and introduce myself. After stuttering over my own name, I was told to take a seat near the back next to a boy and another empty seat.
I wordlessly sat, avoiding the boy’s gaze. The boy didn't seem to want to let it go though, and continued to stare. I peeked at him and saw he was looking confusedly down at me. He rested his head on his folded arms and asked, "How’s your head?"
Startled, I clutched my head to feel if there was anything on it from the accident yesterday. When he saw me do this he chuckled quietly so our teacher couldn’t hear. I looked at him, at his brown eyes. They seemed oddly familiar. He was...the boy from yesterday. The one who ran in front of our car. "It’s fine," I bluntly replied, turning back towards the blackboard.
"My arms kinda sore," the boy mumbled, rubbing his arm in mock pain.
"I didn’t ask," I curtly replied, not caring to make friends.
He peeked at me again. "Why did you turn up in that car this morning?" he asked me quietly.
I furiously turned my head towards him; what on earth did he mean? "It's not the same car."
He shook his head, "I know that, but why the fancy cars if you come to a school like this?"
I froze. That's why I was being stared at so much today. It was because I had arrived in my usual car. "It was...my friend's car. Their parents knew how nervous I was about coming here so offered me a lift on my first day."
He leaned closer to me, "And last night?" Damn. I'd forgotten that he had seen me then too.
"Same thing," I rashly replied, firmly turning away from him and facing the teacher completely. I wasn't here to make friends, I was here to find Oh Sehun and become close to his family, specifically his father.
When the lesson was over I quickly pushed out my chair and made a break for outside. I was blocked by the boy who had been sitting next to me.
