Girls’ Generation went from a 9-member group to 5 members, and ‘Gee’ was already 9 years ago.
We are in our penultimate year of university. We see her sitting on a bench across the campus. Her dark orbs are fixated on the book while she munches on the burger on one hand. His eyes light up instantly, and there is a mischievous grin on his face. I follow him as he makes his way towards her. We stop in front of her. She looks up once to simply acknowledge our presence. He scoots over to peer over her shoulders.
“Wow, somebody’s being hardworking!” he exclaims. “Maybe I’ll strike the lottery today.”
This is when she’ll purse her lips into a line and her jaw clenches. “Go away. I have a paper later.” He seems to have achieved his motive because there is a small smile dancing on his lips.
I nod in understanding. “All the best!”
“Thank you,” she replies.
He laughs. “I think you’ll need luck more!” She shoots daggers at him with her eyes, but he doesn’t seem to care. “Good luck!” He sends her a tiny fist pump, and we head on our way, leaving her to her books.
