He sits for maybe hours there, hugging his knees.
When he looks up, he sees a pair of familiar black eyes staring at him. She’s always in that white one piece dress. Her luscious black hair flows perfectly past her shoulders.
“You’re hiding,” she states, rocking her body lightly as she squats in front of him. “Why?”
“I’m no good, am I?”
“What makes you say so?” she muses.
“I made them upset again,” he says.
“How so?”
“I’m cold,” he continues, “and heartless.”
“No, you’re not.” She smiles and slowly reaches her hand over his left chest. “Because in here, it’s warm.”
He looks away for a moment to fight back his tears. By the time he turns around, he’s alone in the dark empty room, and there’s no girl in white dress. He laughs because who is he kidding? He has always been alone, and it’s really cold.
