Day off
A Mermaid's Tale
Marna's pov:
I looked at Woohyun's grandfather as he smiled brightly at Sori. Woohyun told me she is his childhood friend and that his and her grandfather were best friends, so they naturally became really close friends too. They live in different cities, but that wouldn't seperate their amazing friendship.
This made me think of Cora. I guess it's the same kind? I miss Cora a lot but if I would see her now, I would still see her as my best friend.
"Good morning grandfather, Sori." I smiled as I walked inside the same room. The two looked at me and it was Sori who greeted me cheerfully, but somehow grandfather looked at me with skeptical eyes. It was like I did something wrong, but I don't remember doing anything wrong at all.
Does he not like me? Find me annoying?
"Sori, go wake up that lazy boy." grandfather said, making her nod and go fetch Woohyun.
I looked at grandfather and noticed he was looking directly at me, his eyes were unreadable but it softened after some time.
"Come Marna. What would you like to eat today for breakfast?" he asked, making me smile softly. He does like me right? He wouldn't ask this to someone he doesn't want to have around him.
"Anything. I'm good with anything, everything you make is tasty." I answered.
Grandfather chuckled and shook his head.
"You talk so sweet, Marna." he chuckled and poured some green tea in a cup for me.
I gave him a smile before sipping from it.
"How about some toast with butter and cheese? They're Woohyun's favorite's too."
I nodded my head furiously and looked closely at his hands moving swiftly and like a professional.
"Grandfather?" I asked hesitantly.
"Just call me grandpa." he smiled.
"Grandpa." I smiled before continuing my question. "Do you dislike me...?" I asked unsure.
He widened his eyes, almsot offended andc arressed my cheek, making me frown a bit.
"Of course not Marna. Why would I dislike you? I would never. Don't mind me when I'm talking sharp or hard. I'm just like that." he chuckled and ruffled my hair, making me grin brightly
