When he felt the cold steel enter through his body, his first instinct was to grab onto the blade with his hands to prevent it from plunging any deeper.  He gritted his teeth as he tried to withstand the agonising pain he was in.  He glanced up at the masked figure holding onto the end of the sword.

"Who are you?" he demanded, despite the pain consuming him.

The masked figure did not respond and pushed the blade deeper, causing blood to trickle down the side of his victim's mouth.

His face twisted in pain when he felt the blade slice the palms of his hands which wrapped around the blade.  He knew that this would be the end.  He would not get out of this alive.

He slowly released his hands from the blade, allowing the masked figure to take another step forward and plunge the sword straight through him.  Taking advantage of their close proximity, he reached out a bloody hand and pulled the mask off from his attacker's face.

His eyes widened in confusion when he recognised the face beneath the mask.

Realising that his victim had seen his face, the attacker pulled his sword out from his victim's body and took a step back.  Blood gushed out as he watched his victim collapse to the ground.  He was surprised by his victim's actions.  He did not expect his victim to pull such a move.  

But it did not matter.  All that mattered was that his victim was dying.  As they all should.
 
"You...why?" his victim asked while gasping for breath.

He slowly crouched down beside his victim.  For a moment, he watched in silence as his victim's blood continued to flow before he reached out a hand to his victim's face.  Such a pretty face.

He leaned down and whispered beside his victim's ear.  "Because you..."
